This is the last in the series but the best in the series. I love the smart Paisley and hard working Eli. They just make sense together. There is great banter, with, and some steam along with all the sweetness. Great story.

As with the rest of the series, I was hooked from page one.

This story concludes the tale of the Five Fathoms Brewing company friends, with the last friend finding her true love; and though I often say, “this one’s my favorite,” this time, it’s genuinely true.

Paisley’s integral role strengthens these friends’ bond; her intellect matches her fierce loyalty. The hurricane’s destruction weighs heavily on Paisley, as the Brewmaster, whose contributions are essential to their previous successes, feels the urgency to restart brewing immediately. Unfortunately, her would-be benefactor is also the subject of her animosity.

Eli Raider left the island, struck it rich, and has now returned to Smuggler’s Hideaway to stay. As the owner of Buccaneer’s Whiskey & Distillery, along with his brothers, he’s uniquely positioned to aid Sophia, Chloe, Nova, Maya, and Paisley in their storm recovery efforts. He’s determined to get in Paisley’s good graces again and make their relationship last. They have such sizzling chemistry and their steamy scenes were very entertaining.

Their witty banter keeps me hooked, and I couldn’t stop reading. I loved seeing how much Eli championed Paisley and cherished every aspect of her being. Isn’t that what we all desire—acceptance for every aspect of ourselves? Absolutely! I was a little frustrated by Eli’s misinterpretation (that’s why we don’t eavesdrop people!), but I admired Flynn, Hudson, Caleb, and Lucas’s readiness to intervene and help him see things clearly. So much fun!

This series finale makes me sad, but I can’t wait to see what mischief the Raider brothers get up to in the next series! To fully appreciate this story, read the books in order. You’ll then want to dive into the author’s other books—they are equally addictive and enjoyable. It’s time well spent, believe me.

I received and ARC of this one (thank you) and happily leave my review.

Beyond the Hate is live!!!

Paisley has a grudge. A big one. The kind you don't just let go of — even if the guy you hate is the only thing standing between you and your dreams.

Enter Eli Raider. Human embodiment of tall, dark, and way-too-helpful.

After a hurricane leaves Five Fathoms Brewing in ruins, Paisley is forced to deal with her worst nightmare - accepting help from the man she’s spent years avoiding like expired hops.

Her friends? They’re so over her grudge.
Eli? He’s very interested in why she hates him.
Paisley? Still trying (and failing) to pretend the man doesn't have deep blue eyes she wants to drown in

This book is sadly the last in this brilliant series, it can be read as a standalone but why wouldn't you want to immerse yourself in the previous wacky stories, with the wonderful zany characters.
Paisley Bardot couldn't believe it, the boy that she had thought was her friend at school but had then betrayed her, the boy that she hated, was back in Smuggler's Hideaway, not only back, but back but back flaunting his wealth.
Paisley and her four best friends, Sophia, Chloe, Nova and Maya had se up Five Fathoms Brewery, Paisley was the chemist and she liked nothing more than successfully experimenting with different brews. Paisley was a little sad that she was now the only one without a partner but contrary to the belief of her matchmaking friends, Eli Raider was not the answer to her dreams, just because he was wealthy, handsome, hunky with the deepest blue eyes, eyes that a girl could drown in..........
Eli had struck lucky in the city, a project that he had backed had paid off in dividends, he was now a billionaire, but his heart wasn't in the city, his heart was on his small island home where, along with his five brothers, he owned and ran Buccaneer's Whiskey and distillery.
Eli had always had a crush on Paisley, he thought that they were friends at school but suddenly she turned against him, he needed to know why.........he needed Paisley.
When a hurricane wrecked the brewery, Eli was quick to offer space in the distillery so that Paisley could continue brewing, no way said Paisley, but knowing that her actions could affect her friends she reluctantly agreed.
This story follows the ups and downs of Paisley's and Eli's journey to their HEA, the brilliant banter, the off the charts chemistry, the traumas and not forgetting the ugly (deep down) step sisters. This story will make you laugh, it will make you cry, it will make you want to knock their heads together but it will leave you with a smile on your face.........Bring on the Raider brothers.
Thank you for this ARC, my review is voluntary.

BEYOND THE HATE Bby D.E. HAGGERTY

I don’t care how Eli Raider is a billionaire and has the most beautiful blue eyes I’ve ever seen – eyes I want to drown in while I explore those muscles no man who isn’t an athlete should have – because he’s a Class A Jerk. I want nothing to do with him.
Which is why I turn down his offer of help after a hurricane destroys the brewing facilities at Five Fathoms Brewing.
Matter solved.
Except my interfering wannabe matchmaking friends point out the truth. The brewery can’t survive unless we can brew beer soon and who knows how long it’ll be until we’re up and running again. And I realize I can’t say no.
But make no mistake about it – accepting help from Eli doesn’t mean I forgive him for what he did to me in high school. He can bring me coffee and muffins every morning until the end of time, it won’t change my mind.
Eli Raider is my enemy and nothing he does will change that.

😊What i liked -

This is such an enjoyable and super cute read. I’m so enjoying this whole series.

Paisley and Eli have crushed on each other since high school, but Eli inadvertently hurt Paisley and now she “hates” and avoid him.

Eli has built a successful business but now he wants to be back home in the small town he grew up in. He still likes Paisley, but is at the loss as to why she hates him.

After a hurricane damages the brewing facility that Paisley and her friends own, she’s put in the situation of accepting Eli‘s help. And he’s determined to get her to like him again.

This is such a sweet fun book. I loved Paisley‘s feistiness, and her imagination for pranks. And Eli is such a sweetheart of a cinnamon roll.

Together they are so fun, the banter flows endlessly and the chemistry is explosive.

And let’s not get get into the whole cast of quirky, rowdy, side characters, and how much fun they bring to the reading experience. From the best friends to the brothers to the seal and the otter, you just can’t put this book down.

I have read some of the other books in the series and I can’t get enough of it. I will make sure to read the ones I have missed so far.

I have received an ARC for this book and I am leaving my honest review voluntarily.

This is the fifth book in The Smugglers Hideaway series and each book just keeps getting better. Paisley loves her work in the brewery, her friends the only downside is her family. Although she only sees them on birthdays and special occasions its more than necessary in her opinion. When the storm hits and damages the brewery she knows this is going to hurt their business. That is until Eli steps in and offers space at his distillery, flaunting his wealth again and no way will she take help from him. Eli really can't understand what went wrong when they was at school, he really thought their friendship could be more. But now his life is busy enough keeping his brothers in line as well as running two successful businesses. This is one of those stories that you just want to shout at them to stop ignoring what's right in front of them. Although both characters have their own insecurities they both keep their feelings well hidden. Between interfering friends and brothers can these two overcome past misunderstandings. Or will they just keep pushing the other away. I love this series and can't wait for more from Smugglers Hideaway

This series about 5 girlfriends finding their forever loves while running their brewery business in an island community has been an enjoyable ride, with this the last in the series being Paisley’s turns to find her HEA.
It was easy to get hooked from the start of this one, I love the banter that comes with the whole enemies to lovers trope and this didn’t disappoint.
Paisley is an introvert, the brewer for the Five Fathoms Brewery the girlfriends run, and the one most likely to sprout facts about obscure subjects at both opportune and inopportune times. When a hurricane takes the roof off the brewery, local billionaire Eli Raider comes to the rescue pushing all of Paisley’s buttons along the way. The chemistry between these two is fire and once they get out of their own way and admit their feelings to the other, they make a great couple.
That Eli has a bunch of brothers all living in Smuggler’s Hideaway will no doubt roll us into the next series.
This was a great read, and I will be waiting for more adventures on this island with this community of people I feel I’ve come to know so well.

When I got a glimpse of Paisley’s disdain for Eli, towards the end of All Along, I knew this was going to be a good story.

Paisely is sweet, smart and holds a grudge against Eli. Eli is sexy, rich and wants nothing more than to have a chance with Paisley. Once he learns why she holds such animosity towards him and why she won’t give him a chance, he makes sure that he nor anyone else makes her feel less than the wonderful person she is.

I absolutely loved this book. It has all the sweetness and the laughs we loved in the previous books in the series. I have a feeling we may get a series centred on Eli’s brothers, I really hope we do because I can’t wait to see more sparks fly between Dakota and Rhett.

While this is a standalone, I recommend reading the previous books in the series to get a true sense of the level of friendship these five friends have and why their other halves are as protective and possessive as they are.

Small Town, High School Frenemies to More?, Found Family, LOL Hijinks and Steam - Loved It!

This was a great wrap-up the Fave Fathoms friends series but also a perfect introduction to the Raider brothers series which looks like it will be a doozy as well. Paisley and Eli had been pining for each other since high school if only she could get over a perceived slight/misunderstanding on his part. Seeing Eli "win" her back with the help of her friends' machinations was a lot of fun as were the all of the text conversations and of course the pranks. I also loved that Eli helped Paisley see that she was better than the way her family treated her, and that he helped her stand up to them, not to mention their chemistry - hot!, hot!, hot! I can't wait for more Smuggler's hideaway and the Raider brother's stories - Enjoy!

A perfect finish to this part of the series. Anything Haggerty writes you can guarantee I’ll be reading.

Paisley is unbelievably smart, knowing everything about everything, and whilst this is an advantage it’s also a burden. Bullying from her childhood has caused her to close off her heart from almost everyone- except for her best friends.

One of the people she actively avoids- or hates as she claims- is billionaire Eli who has recently returned home to the small town of Smugglers Hideaway.

Eli has been completely obsessed with Paisley since they were teenagers but a misunderstanding causes her to push him away, and for their friendship to fizzle out.

It takes a hurricane to draw these two souls together but it takes their courage and patience to choose to stay and fight against their demons.

I believe this is my favorite "Smuggler's Hideaway" book yet. I absolutely love Paisley!!! She is such a prankster, I wouldn't want to be on her bad side. The pranks she comes up with are absolutely hilarious!! My favorite are her chemistry pranks especially the red smoke, nothing was safe from that, even her. Her two evil stepsisters should have felt her wrath a lot more often. They are horrible!! Her mom isn't much better. Eli disappointed me when he didn't give Paisley the chance to explain her comment, he way over reacted. He definitely deserved all the pranks he suffers through, lol. I loved the idea of a Birthday Day, what an awesome way to spend your birthday. I also loved Eli's brothers, I NEED THEIR STORIES!! I received an advance review copy for free, and I am leaving this review voluntarily.

This is a laugh out loud story that will have you wishing that you had a "Paisley" at your back, you definitely wouldn't want her as a enemy!! I highly recommend this book.

Beyond the Hate: Enemies to Lovers, billionaire, a small-town romantic comedy (Smuggler's Hideaway Book 5) by D.E. Haggerty, is a fun romance between two Smuggler’s Hideaway locals, Eli and Paisley, who went to school together. Eli is a billionaire whiskey distillery co-owner with his brothers, who has an unrequited crush on Paisley, the head and co-owner of the local brewery, and her four best friends. Due to an incident in high school where Paisley had her feelings hurt by Eli, she feels bitter and carries a grudge. But fate takes the form of a hurricane that hits the island and destroys Paisley’s brewery. Eli offers her a space to work and continue brewing her special beers in his distillery. This close proximity of working in the same building brings about many situations where Eli and Paisley come in contact as they work through their feelings for each other. D.E. Haggerty’s romances set on the island of Smuggler’s Hideaway are stories not to be missed.

I really enjoyed this installment in the Smuggler’s Cove series! Paisley (the brewer for a co-owned brewery) is the last woman in her close friends’ group to find her HEA. Fortunately, another hot guy from their high school has returned to Smuggler’s Cove. Eli is the oldest son of a divorced Mom, with several wild younger brothers. He became a billionaire after he went off to college. Eli has now returned to Smuggler’s Cove to work with his whiskey distillery. After a hurricane damages the women’s brewery, these characters are thrown together. Paisley is forced to deal with a grudge she has held since high school and Eli has to work hard to earn her trust. The story has entertaining banter, adult heat and well-written dual points of view. I received an advance copy for free and I am leaving this review voluntarily.

This is the 5th and final book in the Smuggler's Hideaway series but a new series is being built on this one. These characters are so well written that you are sure you know people like them. This author has truly nailed the found family from friends vibe. These five women all have proved that family is who you make it and doesn't have to be blood related to you. The sassy, smart mouthed independent prankster Paisley has met her match in Eli and she really doesn't like him and hasn't since high school. He picked on her but they are really attracted to each other once the get to know the other better. Paisley is the last of the group to find her happiness and it will make you smile. This book wl hold your interest from page one to the end. I loved big cinnamon roll male characters and thr sassy independent women they love. Really well written series. Cannot wait for the new series.

Last women standing, Paisley, finally gets her story and it's a good one!

We finally find out why she's always avoiding Eli Raider!

Eli wonders why Paisley hates him when he only wants to get to know her better.

As these two dance around each other, her friends from Five Fathom's Brewery are down to play matchmaker regardless of the words to the contrary that keep streaming out of Paisley's mouth.

Despite repeating "mermaids are not real", Paisley is in line to catch her own smuggler in the form of Eli Raider even if she doesn't want one.

Great dialogue, as always, antics from the friend group are not as outrageous, but don't disappoint as they still get up to hilarious antics.

One of my favorite parts involves the Five Fathom owners ' partners and an airplane! That's all I'm saying, read it for yourself!

Loved this!!!

This was the first book I’ve read of the Smuggler’s Hideaway series and now I’m going to have to go back and read them all! I loved it and I loved Paisley! She was just quirky and fun and Eli was so accepting and patient with her quirks. I was not a lover of the 3rd act, but I did love that it was all resolved quickly and not drawn out. I think if it had been drawn out, I would have been upset. I did want to smack Eli upside the head, though, even with quick resolution. I love D.E. Haggerty and I started Cash and The Sinners and had been working my way through them before I got this ARC. My TBR list has just grown exponentially and I am not upset about that in the least!

I was lucky enough to receive an ARC of this and I am happy to say I loved it and will be reading more by her!

I always enjoy going back to Smuggler’s Hideaway and this one is no exception. Watching this group of friends that work together, support each other, and stay loyal makes me feel good. Paisley is the Brewmaster and is the main part of their success for the Five Fathoms Brewing Company. Eli Raider has returned to town and is here to stay and work with his brothers as part owner of the Buccaneer’s Whiskey & Distillery. He is determined to get back in the good graces of Paisley but can’t figure out what happened to make her dislike him so much. When a hurricane come through town, will she accept help from Eli? As everything works out in the end, you will get frustrated some, laugh some, and most of all have a good feeling inside by the end. Another great story.

Thank you, D.E. Haggerty for an absolutely brilliant finale to a truly amazing series…the Smuggler’s Hideaway series. BEYOND THE HATE is the love/hate/love story of Paisley Bardot and Eli Raider. I strongly recommend you grab your favorite drink and some tissues before you start. The storyline is incredible; the characters are so crazy good; the plot twists are full of hijinks and so much you need to keep up with; and the HEA is so frigging good—I was literally blown away by it. I’m sorry to see this series end, but I’m definitely excited about the Raider brothers series. Bring it on! BEYOND THE HATE definitely deserves to be on your TBR list! Eli and Paisley’s story has them knowing each other since it’s a small island and they were around the same age. Her a d her four besties staid on the island while Eli went away to college with his best friend. They did a business and now are billionaires. But now he’s back with his four bros (who I hope will get books) to work their whiskey distillery. She pretends she doesn’t like him and when the hurricane hits the girls brewery takes a hit and the boys offer part of their distillery to help them. But this means these two will see each other daily. Will they see how they actually feel about each other. Loved these besties series

Paisley & Eli

I liked the character development between the two main characters, Paisley and Eli. Ten years is a long time to nurse a grudge from high school. But once they started to look at each other more objectively, they realzed that the other person was not as two dimensional as they had thought.
This story dod a great job of wrapping up the relationships of the women that founded Five Fathoms Brewery. It also did a good job of setting up a potential new series in Smugglers Hideaway featuring Eli's younger brothers. I am already anticipating more books set in this island community.

I received a free advance copy of this story from BookSirens and voluntarily chose to share my review.

I received a digital ARC of this book. This is book 5 in the series, and I feel like they should be read in order to avoid spoilers. Each female lead in the books is a group of friends and therefore in all the books. I will read anything D.E. Haggerty writes. She pulls you in from the first page. There is spice, banter and nosy friends. What more could you want? I love that this one also has the lesson of mistakes that turn to hatred, that should've never happened in the first place. I am sad that this is the last book in this series, but I am looking forward to the side series that starts with one of the characters in this book. If this small town really existed, I would move there!

Paisley had a horrible family but great friends and family by choice. Her fears snd insecurities were understandable (and ongoing). Eli, on the other hand, had a generally supportive, if very aggravating, family and, despite his father’s bad behavior, Eli’s fear was more of a self-fulfilling prophecy. Paisley was independent because she felt she had only herself to rely on and wasn’t interested in Eli for his money but despite his strong feelings, he was always waiting for her to make a mistake. They BOTH needed to stop making snap decisions without all the facts! Quick read. Angsty!

Oh Smuggler’s Hideaway, how I love your quirkiness!! Beyond The Hate was the fifth book in Dena’s Smuggler’s Hideaway series and can be read as a stand-alone, but I would recommend reading them in order!! It was full of laughs, emotions, and all the love!!

After Mother Nature showed her hand, Paisley was in need of space to continue brewing their beer. The last person she wanted help from was Eli, but her friends helped her see reason. Once they were in close quarters, would the hate for each other change or get worse?

They were so cute together! Loved getting to see them figure each other out. So many laugh out loud moments as well as swoony ones! This story may have marked the end of the Five Fathoms Brewing but I have a feeling we will be seeing a lot more of Smuggler’s Hideaway!!

Received as an ARC and leaving my honest review voluntarily. Paisley is the last to find her HEA and it was so much fun seeing her go toe to toe with her high school friend turned enemy Eli. Both have feelings for the other but the past is 'complicated' or so they thought until things get cleared up. The antics of her best friends (the lot of troublemakers) just made everything so much more fun and had me in stitches. But aside from all the fun, there is an important message about feeling worthy and deserving of happiness and love. Loved this story and the entire series that was filled with heartfelt emotion, fun and sassy banter and wonderful friends.

Smugglers and Mermaids strikes again! Paisley’s story is wonderful. It was going to take a very special guy to appreciate all that Paisley has to offer. Eli is that special guy. He just has to convince Paisley. Eli runs the whiskey distillery with his five brothers. After circumstances force Paisley to move her beer distillery into the whiskey warehouse things get very interesting. Love this community and all the inhabitants of Smugglers Hideaway. I love the zany and eccentric atmosphere of this series. Can’t wait for the next batch. I received an advance review copy for free, and I am leaving this review voluntarily.

Paisley hates Eli or does she?? She tries to convince herself and her friends that she does but she doesn’t. She wants to hate him for some transgression from high school but she questioning her reasons because Eli is such a nice guy after her business is damaged by the hurricane. Eli allows her to use a portion of his facility for her brewery. She gets to know him and she finally admits why she been standoffish. They end up starting a relationship but both Eli and Paisley have issues that must be addressed.

I adored this book. It was funny and also serious and naughty.

I recently delved into "Beyond The Hate" by D. E. Haggerty, and I must say it deserves a full 5-star rating! This book is a delightful blend of humor and wit, making it an absolute page-turner.
