Rate this book
It was just one night—until he showed up with her sister in his arms.

Nadya Almaznaya doesn’t do second chances. Not in life. Not in love. After a childhood ripped apart by the worst kind of evil, she’s learned to keep things keep moving, keep laughing, and never, ever let anyone close enough to break her.

Especially not the quiet, steel-eyed FBI agent she slept with once and never called again.

But when her youngest sister is rescued, Nadya comes face-to-face with Nick Santano—the man she never forgot.

He’s older now, even more intense, and somehow still looking at her like he sees beneath every mask she’s ever worn.

She’s not part of his case. She’s not someone who needs saving. But being near him again threatens to crack the armor she’s spent years perfecting.

And when shadows from her past resurface, Nadya must stay behind the walls she built to survive—or take the kind of risk that could finally set her free.

He was never supposed to matter.
Walking away from him once was hard.
Doing it twice might destroy her.

"Every time she smiled, even if it was just to mock me, something happened in my chest."

This is actually the first book I've read by this author, but I promise it won't be the last. This book had so much going for it. Great main characters, interesting secondary characters, lots of plot and action, suspense, and tons of chemistry!

Nadya was so broken and damaged I hurt for her. she not only needed but absolutely deserved some who will love her and protect her completely.

Nick was practically perfect in every way. I mean a serious bbf. He was everything Nadya needed wrapped up in a big, strong, gorgeous package. I mean, he even fed the stray cat.

There's a lot of stuff going on, and many truly evil bad guys with Nadya caught right in the middle. I won't spoil what happens, just know that it's exciting and page turning. My only complaint is that the ending felt a bit rushed and didn't have the depth the rest of the book had.

This is apparently the third book in a series as the books for Nadya's sisters were previously released. I plan to go back and read them next. The author also explains at the end that there's another book in the series coming soon. It sounds equally as interesting as this book was. I can't wait to see what happens next.

"I received an ARC and am voluntarily leaving an honest review.” The One Who Won’t Get Away. I was immediately drawn into its dark, intense, and emotionally charged journey. From the very beginning, the story explores the lasting effects of a brutal past and a childhood shattered by unspeakable evil pain that Nadya has long tried to bury behind carefully constructed walls.
Those barriers begin to crack when FBI Agent Nick Santino unexpectedly appears at her door with her sister after a rescue mission. A shared history and a single unforgettable night resurface, along with emotions Nadya has fought hard to suppress. Though Nick insists she is no longer part of his case, the closeness and unfinished connection threaten to unravel the distance she has worked so hard to maintain.
As danger from Nadya’s past reemerges, she is forced to confront the very fears she tried to escape. With Nick’s support, she must decide whether she can finally break free from the darkness that has followed her for so long. Once she had the strength to walk away from him but this time, the outcome is far less certain. This is a must read, gripping from start to finish, and impossible to put down.💛

I voluntarily reviewed "THE ONE WHO WON'T GET AWAY" I was pulled into this interesting, intriguing, dark intense journey from the beginning dealing with a brutal past, a childhood ripped apart by horrible evil, but Nadya tried to put up walls to block it out.
Nick Santino an FBI Agent arrives on Nadya Almaznaya's doorstep with her sister after rescuing her.
Nadya slept with Nick once leaving him later without a word never to let anyone close to hurt her ever again, the feelings resurface seeing him there.
Nick isnt there to save her, she's not part of his case being this close after do long threatens protect the walls she's built around herself.
When things from Nadya's past comes back to haunt her can she push forward with Nick's help to set herself free once & for all.
Nadya walked away from Nick once intact but this time maybe not, can these two get a HEA a must read you don't want miss its a page turner to the end.

I want to hug these sisters so much and tell them how amazing I think they are, my heart breaks for all they have been through. Nick (love the story of his nickname) understands Nadya like no one else, he recognises things before being told and understands just what she needs and doesn't needs. I believed in the connection and chemistry between them when they first met, and that it was still there years later. Nick had his own personal pain he was dealing with and I liked how he and Nadya were able to help and support each other. I thought they made a good team, they didn't judge, preach or try to change each other, they just inspired one another to trust, to be honest and to love. It was really lovely to see them fall in love as it balanced out the darker themes of their story for me.

Very much enjoyed. Nadya was wonderfully written her past is so dark and to be able to see her struggle to come to grips with her history and see her destructive behavior. After Nick the first time she wishes she had hung on but they are given a 2nd chance. Now we see her wanting to make positive changes and be the person she thinks Nick should have. At the end you know they will make it together.

TW child abuse
To help her deal with her childhood trauma, Nayda goes out looking for a one night stand.
Years later she runs back into him, after he helped save her sister. But her past still haunts her and she doesn't do relationships.

L.P. Guleva did a wonderful job with this book. I was hooked from the moment I started reading it. I couldn't put it down. It was amazingly written. You fell in love with Nayda and Nick, and couldn't wait to see how everything would turn out for them.

A woman just looking for a good time to empty her brain for a night meets a man in a bar and has a wonderful night. When she wakes up she sneaks out of the hotel knowing she is too damaged to have anything more. Two years later her sister is kidnapped and she re-meets the man who is actually an FBI agent assigned to the case. Sparks fly...again.
