إذا كنت من محبي الكتب العلمية وأفكار الخيال العلمي أنصحك بقراءة هذا الكتاب صغير الحجم عظيم المحتوي
إذا لم تكن كذلك فلا تضيع وقتك معه

ما الذي يمكن أن يحدث في 500 عام ؟
الكتاب يحاول أن يضع تصورات مبنية علي نظريات علمية أو رؤي في عصرنا الحالي لما يمكن أن يقع في المستقبل

يبدأ الكتاب ببعض المشاكل الاجتماعية والبيئية مثل زيادة السكان والتصحر وصراحة لم يستهويني هذا الجزء من الكتاب .

ثم بعد ذلك ينتقل للحديث عن الكمبيوترات وتطويرها وهناك جزء خاص بالشفرات رغم إني قرأته مثله من قبل في كتب عديدة لكني أحب هذا الجزء ثم ينتقل للبحار وكيفية استغلالها للزراعة أو التعدين وينتقل للفضاء أيضا وكيف يمكن أن يعيش الانسان هناك وكيفية استغلال تلكك الموار ويتم برؤية عن انسان القرن 25 ووضع السياسة والاقتصاد

هذا باختصار ما يدور عنه الكتاب والكتاب مختصر أيضا وقرأت ما هو أفضل منه في النظر نحو المستقبل وإن كان التطور المستقبلي في العلوم يسبب لي الرعب في بعض الأحيان نتيجة ما سيحدث للقيم الانسانية المعتادة وهذا هو الصراع القادم مابين أخلاقيات الانسان ومابين العلم الذي سيصنع الانسان كيفما يشاء وكيفما يريد

whether the science in this book is correct is beyond me...but the basic premises of the book seem sound to me... almost common logic in there straightforward-ness... I loved the fact that adrian berry quotes from al gore who has now won the nobel prize for his work on/with the environment and his secretary who admits in not so many words that the modern scientist including himself are not telling the tale of global warming or any scientific rhetoric for that matter, as they themselves may even believe or doubt because they need funding... I learned that invention is the way to change the world irreversibly for everyone...this book will definitely help open your mind to possibilities of space travel, immortality, wealth of the race, and the death of history... mike seely and the acid tong

كتاب ظريف ...افكاره مختلفة و متجددة نظرا انك تتحدث عن العالم و شكل الحياة سنة 2500

يعنى بعد 30 سنة ظريف جدا ان تراجع اغلب التنبؤات العلمية فى الكتاب
و تستطيع ان تقرر ايها ما زال درب من دروب الخيال
و ايها تحقق بالفعل او قارب على ذلك

الكتاب ليس متعمق فى "مستقبليات" علم او مجال بعينه و انما هو كتاب بانورامي خفيف عن مستقبليات كل المجالات ...

Although I didn't feel there was anything new with many of the predictions made in this book, I have to remember and consider this was written in the 90s. What was interesting and strange to read, was Berry's views on Global Warming. To his death, Berry apparently maintained that the risk of an ice age was far greater than global warming. His predictions on artificial intelligence seem to be more relevant now than when he wrote the book, so we can probably give him a tick for that. A good part of the book is spent talking about Man's continued exploration and colonisation of the solar system. Some 23 years on and we haven't even returned to the moon. Berry believed that the push for this would ultimately come from the business/private sector - and given Elon Musk's endeavours - he may well be right on this. If so, I find this disturbing - Do we really want corporations owning other parts of the solar system. And who or what will defend the rights of humans in these far off places given that he sees government becoming a lot smaller in the future (something we are seeing right now)? Berry I felt, gave unfortunately minimal discussion to how human society, politically, economically and socially would develop in the next 500 years

عنوان الكتاب فى وادى والكتاب فى وادى تانى خالص
فلو يعلم الكاتب كم التطورات والثورات والتغيرات اللى طرأت على العالم ولم يمر أول قرن وليس خامس قرن فى الألفية الثانية لتراجع عن تأليف ونشر هذا الكتاب !

جميل جداً ،،
في البداية يقنعنا الكاتب بإمكانية توقع المستقبل البعيد ، فيتحدث عن المستقبل في غضون 5 قرون معتمداً على ما حدث في الماضي و ما يحدث في الحاضر ..
لكن سلبية الكتاب تتمثل في بعض الأشياء التي أقر الكاتب بصحتها و قد أثبت العلم خطأها !
حديث الكاتب غير متفق في بعض الأجزاء (( ما ترسالك على حل يا عمنا دوختنا معاك :D ))
لأ و اللي لازم و لا بد من إني أقوله معبرةً عنه بالعامية بئا أم الدهاء و المكر بتاع الراجل ده ، بيجيب حاجات كده على الطاير علشان البني آدمين اللي بيقرأوله ميفهموش هو مع ايه ضد ايه :D ..
ابقوا توقعوا كويس ينوبكوا ثواب و تأكدوا من صحة معلوماتكوا ، فلنفرض مثلاً ان اللي قرأ المواضيع دي مايعرفش الصح و مقرأش عنه قبل كده ،، تحرج االراجل في مناقشة من المناقشات كده ينفع ؟؟ :D ...

When I first saw the book I thought it was going to be a fiction or fantasy about the future the possible outcomes that happen to us. Then when I start to read it I found out it as actually about history. I tried my hardest to finish this book I really don't like this kind of books because I like books that make my imaginations run wild, but this book gives a lot of facts that I just can't remember and to me these facts are not that interesting. The interesting part of this book when it talks about what possibly can we achieve in the future.
