Gravepulse Trilogy : Hunting Book 2

Rate this book
The zombies have upped their game.
Hope refuses to die.
When the world fell, Alex lost everything except her will to fight. Now, survival is more than scavenging food or outrunning the dead. It’s about protecting the people she refuses to lose, even if it means tearing pieces out of herself to do it. Because family isn’t who you’re born to, it’s who you’re willing to bleed for. But the dead are changing. They’re faster, Smarter, Hungrier. And the living? They’re worse, ruthless survivors who see trust as weakness and hope as bait. When a fragile new sanctuary offers safety, Alex must decide, cling to her humanity or embrace the darkness that survival demands. Each choice pulls her closer to becoming the very monster she fears.. and in this world, there are fates far worse than death. Perfect for fans of The Last of Us and World War Z, this is survival horror at its most brutal, where every heartbeat is borrowed time and every ally could be your executioner.

Star Rating: ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐

What Did I Just Walk Into?
Oh, you thought the zombies were bad before? Honey, they’ve leveled up. The “Watchers” aren’t just lurking anymore—they’re scheming. And the “Whisperers”? Yeah, they’ve gone full psychological warfare, luring poor souls to their doom with chilling mimicry. Hunting drops you into a world where the dead don’t just bite, they bait. Welcome back to chaos.

Here’s What Slapped:
Ms. R Richards doesn’t ease you in—she throws you headfirst into gut-punch grief, moral decay, and zombie evolution. Alex has upgraded from lone survivor to badass warrior queen, hacking her way through devastation with grit and heart. The monastery’s gone, the group’s shattered, and safety is just another myth. The emotional toll? Brutal. The action? Relentless. The character growth? Surprisingly tender. This book delivers blood, brains, and bleak beauty in equal measure.

Here’s What Bit Back:
Honestly? If I had a heart, it would’ve broken. Losing beloved characters hits hard, and the quiet, creeping dread never lets go. Also… can we talk about how nowhere is safe? Can a girl just catch a break and maybe a nap?

Perfect for Readers Who Love:
📖 Gritty zombie apocalypse with evolving monsters
📖 Found family amid chaos
📖 Action-packed emotional trauma
📖 Smart horror with psychological edge
📖 Heroines who’ve had enough

Vibe Check:
Dark, action-heavy, emotional trauma with a bite. Think The Walking Dead meets 28 Days Later, but make it personal.

Oh my goodness! Now I remember why I waited so long to read this after reading the first one. Ms. Richards has a way of writing characters that just absolutely rip your heart out. I stayed up late and binged this last night. There was no way I could go to bed without some sort of conclusion. She's the only person I know who can write zombie apocalypse books that make you cry. Plus the tension in the action scenes!
