They say retirement is a time for peace, quiet, and long walks. Clearly, they never met my grandkids, my dogs, or my mobile phone.
This little collection wasn’t planned. It came together like most things in my life — accidentally, with a healthy dose of sarcasm, and a lot of laughter along the way. These stories are drawn from the bits and pieces of daily the family visits that turn the house upside down, the phone calls I never wanted to answer, and the dogs who seem to think they’re in charge.
I’m not here to preach wisdom or offer life lessons (though if you’re taking notes, good luck). I’m just sharing the way I see the world from my well-worn armchair — a place where memories, rants, and reflections gather like biscuit crumbs in the cushions.
If you’ve ever muttered under your breath about “today’s music,” stepped on a toy that wasn’t yours, or questioned the sanity of your pets, then you’re in the right place.
Make a cuppa. Settle in. And prepare for a few laughs, a few raised eyebrows, and maybe a moment or two of unexpected heart.
Welcome to Barry’s Rants, Reflections & No Regrets. You’ve been warned.
