She is a co-author of the Maritime Northwest Garden Guide and a frequent speaker on soils, compost, edible landscaping and children's gardening. She facilitates training for teachers and others interested in schoolyard gardening and is passionate about teaching children and their parents where their food comes from and how to care for living things.

This is one of my favorite ever children's books. I don't think it's in print anymore; that is, when I looked it up on Amazon, they don't have a picture of the cover and it can only be purchased used from third-party sellers. But the book is absolutely delightful, and I like the illustrations.

I think this would be a great book to read to a primary class. Students could write their own stories about what they would do with a box after reading the book.
