It was the Curse’s fault. There was no other explanation why Alice Young woke up married to a complete stranger.
After generations of witches in her family succumbing to the Legend of the Lonely Witch, aka the Curse, Alice refuses to surrender her magic to the land. And that’s exactly what will happen if she doesn’t find true love. Stupid cliché hex anyway.
Reese Mahoney doesn’t understand what he’s doing in Nevada. He should be on his way back to Wyoming. Back to the land he loves. But one night in Vegas changed everything. Now he’s torn between his dream of owning his own ranch and doing what’s right. Only problem is that his dreams are changing and he’s determined to help the woman he can legally call his wife be happy. Except, it’s a little hard when she turns down every attempt he makes.
M.R. Polish has been writing since she was a young girl. She would tell her stories to anyone who would listen until she discovered she could put them onto paper.
Out on the ocean is her favorite place to be and would live on a cruise ship if she could, traveling the world, but alas, adulting and responsibilities keep her grounded.
M.R. is happily married to someone who would gladly follow her onto a ship and sail away. They have four kids, who might be more adventurous jet-setters than their mother.
I was given an advanced copy for an unbias review.
A simply entertaining read!!
One of Author M.R. Polish's best stories yet. Funny witty and totally entertaining from beging to end.
Characters where so full of energy, you fall right into their lap's. Reese and Alice are like the perfect couple to be, I love how Reese persue's Alice relentlessly. Alice is a joy with a little mystery to her.
I can't wait to read more on this new story, there is so much more going on in this book, than meets the eye!!
Oh how I loved this book! This is my first reading of MR Polish's work and I must say, I'm mad at myself for waiting so long!
Reese is all about family values, despite what he thinks his father feels for him. Alice is just as bad off with her family's curse lingering over her.
This tale is charming and I cannot wait to read the stories of the rest of the coven. Will they succeed? Is true love possible for everyone?
I received a ARC of this book for an honest review. When I first read synopsis of this book, I knew I would be hooked. Once I started reading the story, I could not put it down. I love the chemistry between Alice and Reese. Sometimes what happens in Vegas doesn't always stay in Vegas. Alice quickly learns that when Reece finds her. As soon as these two see each other, the sparks began to fly. Alice is afraid to give her heart away to just any guy. Reece is determined to win Alice's heart, the minute he lays eyes on her. The twist and turns that this story takes us on, makes you wonder if they will ever get together. This story is truly incredible and some places of this book will have you holding your breath. Saddles and Spells has everything you need in a paranormal story, action, romance, fun, and plenty of excitement. This is a must read story for everyone. Loved every word!
OMG - I always knew that I loved the way that M R Polish wrote, but believe me -- in Saddles and Spells, she has totally outdone herself!!!!
I wasn't sure exactly what to expect when I started reading the story. And after getting past the first part, I wasn't totally sure where and how she was gonna take the reader on this journey. But - I can honestly say - she did an awesome job with Reese and Alice - and making you feel like you were right there with them the whole time!!! AWESOME JOB M.R.!!!!
I was given a copy of this book for an honest review.
I found this a very good read! It had just a touch of humor to it and a lot of love. The writing flowed smoothly from the start to the finish and showed that with love anything can be Accomplished. I found myself starting another novel by M.R. as soon as I finished it! I received an arc of this novel in exchange for an honest review
Alice is slowly losing her magic her to the land all due to a curse that an ancestor had placed on the clan. The only way to break this curse is to find true love. After waking up married to man that she doesn't remember, she leaves for home.
Reese is on his way home and winds up married, problem is he can't seem to get her out of his head, so he heads out looking for her. He finds her only to find out that her ranch is desperate need of help and decides that he will try convince her that he wants to be her husband in every way...big problem for him, she turns him down all the time :)
M.R. Polish does it again! I absolutely love her work and this one wasn't any different. I loved the witches and of course who doesn't love a cowboy ;) The story flows well and you can't help but cheer on Reese as he tries to make Alice see that he is "husband" material. The characters are great and well definied and I absolutely loved Candy! I hope we see more of her in other books! Definitely a must read!!
Sweet love story of finding love in the most unexpected way and place. Alice and Reese both have pasts which left them hurt and now they do what is necessary to protect themselves. But it seems a person's subconscience knows what the heart really wants and brings these two people together...for better and for worse. The simplicity of which they are drawn to each other and how they so naturally open up their hearts makes for a great love story. The mystery of Alice's past and current troubles makes you wonder how she can get through it and convince Reese to accept her completely and unconditionally. And with the introduction of the other ladies in Alice's coven just create an even broader scope of future stories for Alice's friends. This was definitely a wonderful read and leaves you hoping there is more to come with the other characters.Saddles and Spells
I loved this book. I find it very funny that Alice wakes up doesn't remember anything sees a marriage licenses with her name on it as wife and doesn't stay to find out anything but just ups and leaves. Reese is amazing. He goes to find the girl he married. Alice and Reese are perfect for each other. I love Candy as well. All the girls in her coven are great. They have all different personalities but they all get along so great together and are there for each other. I loved the flow and though there is magic in the story it also has real life in it as well. Reese going for his father and making Alice think he actually left her. The greatness of her friends looking out for her and finding Reese. It is all around great feel good story. It has action as well as humor. I am looking forward to the other girls stories. I would have liked to see a bit more back story of Alice though, maybe a flashback as to why everyone thinks she killed her parents and so forth.
Saddles and Spells is the perfect read for a summer day! It's a heart-warming story about true love that has something for everyone. Sassy witches and handsome cowboys mixed together with just the right amount of magic and sweet romance (with bits of humor, action, and mystery thrown in) with a HEA! The story reads like a contemporary romance-it is a fast read that flows easily- though there are lots of paranormal elements- curses and magic. It's a great combination and makes for a really enjoyable story.
I loved the way the story was set up- the couple meets in Vegas and wind up married after a crazy night. I really enjoyed watching the characters get to know and fall for one another even after they are married. S&S is more sweet than sexy, but I found that refreshing. There needs to be more stories like this one!
This was a cute start to the series and I can't wait until some of the other witches find true love in their own stories!
I truly loved this story! It starts off in Sin CIty, Las Vegas. In true Vegas fashion a man and a woman get married at the Little White Wedding Chapel! But unlike my husband and I who got married there these 2 people didn't know each other. Alice is a witch who is looking to break a very old curse that was cast by one of her ancestors. If she and other members of the coven don't find true love they will lose their magic. Reese well he is just the man to help her! They are so adorable they are truly meant to be as a couple. It just takes them a few days to figure it out. This is a quick read and it's magical. It also has a few of my favorite things, magic, romance, a cat named pumpkin, cowboys and the Little White Wedding Chapel. I just want to know a couple of things, how did these 2 manage to make it over to the chapel to get married and did they use the drive thru or did they go in?
I love a good romance. I love a good cowboy story too. Mix in a little paranormal witch with a coven of sassy friends and this book by M.R. Polish gave me the best of all of those worlds. I enjoyed it so much I gave up sleep to finish it. I don't do that for just anything lol. It's a wonderful, sweet and clean romance that I would recommend to everyone. It's different from other books I've read by M.R. ... No cliffhanger!!! HAHA ... BUT of coarse M.R. being the awesome writer that she is has left me wanting more! It's great to see that there's plenty more witches with their own magical tale to tell. Can I just say "YAY!!!" SO, do yourself a literary favor and pick this one up and enjoy. Let the talented author know what you thought. As always, Happy Reading!
What a spell bounding read, the plot was very interesting the characters fun. The whole theme of losing ones magic because of a love curse was very exciting, secrets revealing themselves in perfect timing to keep the reader intrigued. I also love how the author switched points of view letting the reader get to know the characters in more depth and detail which is very much appreciated. The main female lead was great her strong will and determination along with her kind nature was a great introductory start to the series. The male lead was fascinating, revealing emotional insecurities when thinking but expressing complete confidence in action was refreshing. The supporting characters were all fun showing their loyalty to their goal and with one another.
What a super fun book to read. I love cowboys, as a Texas girl, can't help it. Add in a witchy cowgirl and you have a great read. This book had a pretty good storyline and all the characters werebelievable.I had Rich figure as the bad guy but didn't figure to what extent. will be interested to.read about the rest of the coven.
Cowboys, witches, romance.......Fun story, will definitely be reading this series!! Looking forward to what else M.R. Polish has to offer! So glad I snatched up this freebie when the author offered it, during a book event!!!
Very very rarely does a book grab me from the first chapter but this book actually grabbed me from the very first sentence!!!!! I actually laughed out loud, when Tilley was stuck in her suitcase I lost it :)). I loved all the girls and can't wait to read there stories.
Reese Mahoney and Alice Young wake up in Vegas only to find that they are married. Alice immediately runs away. But Reese is such a sweetheart! He wants to do the “right thing” and when he finds the paper showing he was married, he searches for his new wife. Alice is a witch who was cursed to lose her magic unless she can find true love and be loved in return.
When Reese finds Alice, he tries to tell her he will be a good husband, but she keeps pushing him away. He is unaware that she is a witch, and she is afraid to tell him. Reese always wanted to own his own ranch and Alice’s ranch needs help. Will she let him into her life? Will she believe that he does love her, despite the odd circumstances of their marriage? He truly wants to make her happy, if she will only let him show her.
I thought this was a cute story and it promises many more possibilities with the members of Alice’s coven. Reese is a great character, my favorite because he’s a genuinely good guy. Grab your copy and enjoy their story.
After what must have been a wild and crazy night out in Vegas, Reese Mahoney and Alice Young wake up as Mr.and Mrs. Mahoney. Only problem being, Mrs. Mahoney has runaway. Reese is on his way back home to see his dad, but decides he would like very much to meet his wife since he can’t remember a darn thing! Alice is a witch and cursed . She is slowly losing her magical powers to the land and the only way to break the curse is to find true love. Alice has resigned herself to the fact that true love isn’t in the cards for her. When Reese drives onto her ranch and gets a glimpse at the beautiful woman standing on the porch, he is gob smacked and wants to get to know her better. He offers to fix her barn because he wants to stay. Is Reese the answer to her future? A very entertaining storyline and wonderful characters. Reese is a sweetly and captured my heart. Looking forward to the next book in this series.

I volunteered to read this ARC for an honest review. I enjoyed this story about Reese and Alice. Alice is a witch who happens to run a ranch. Reese is a cowboy who is looking for his place in life. The story begins with a night in Vegas neither can remember, except a wedding license. Reese is headed home but stops to see what Alice is like. What neither plan on is finding more then a quicky spouse. As her magic fades she relives on Reese to help her. But when a emergency with his dad forces him to leave without saying goodbye, and leaving a message with the ranch foreman, it sets off a series of events that almost overwhelm Alice. Great beginnings is a HEA.

Reese and Alice wake up together... married....strangers. oops! Loved the story and the concept of a cursed witch with a ranch and a rancher wanting a future with his own ranch. Fates really did a number on these two. The banter and the characters in general were terrific. Suspense, surprises and twists come up enough to keep things exciting, while the romance takes over. Loved the mirror calls. The ending where she is filled with love and magic once more was terrific. Unique storyline that will keep your attention easily.

Alice Young wakes up in Las Vegas after her 21st birthday to a stranger in her bed and a marriage license on the dresser. She leaves before he wakes up, in denial! When Reese Mahoney wakes up, not remembering the previous night, he also finds the marriage license and decides to track his new bride down. It turns out Alice is a witch, who is in danger of losing her powers due to a curse from a long dead relative. This book was short and cute - there wasn't enough time to really get into the story, and there was too much switching of tenses, but I did kinda like it.
M. R. Polish that is who. Wow did it work. This is a sweet paranormal book with a quick wedding and curses. Sweet cowboys and a family curse. Alice is not going to lose he powers to the land and the stupid curse. Reese wants to make his wife happy. This had great characters and a wonderful story. This book is worth reading and I am going to be reading more from the Saddle and Spells series.

This is the first book I read from this author and I loved it. Alice and Reese are wonderful characters and the story is very romantic and funny. The way it's written makes you fall into the story and keep reading it till the end. I'll be on the lookout for more of this author's stories from now on.

Quick read with a fun, quirky storyline. There was a lot of backstory, but not quite enough (I have some unanswered questions that may be covered in the rest of the series). What starts out as a one-night drunken Vegas wedding, turns into a really fun romance with a HEA. Standalone, but part of a series.
Definitely loved the pace of the story. Just enough mystery and twist of fate to keep you on your toes. Just enough action to keep things moving, it didn't sulk around the edges and was a fun story to read.
I enjoyed Reese & Alice's book. It was an entertaining read. And a new author for me. I received a free copy of the book. And am voluntarily leaving my honest opinion.
