He’s the star player everyone loves to hate… and she’s the one person who might just be able to tame him.
There’s nothing Lucy James hates more than arrogant men. Unfortunately, as PR consultant for the L.A. Hawks pro hockey team, she encounters more than her fair share of them. The chief culprit? Dax Temple. He’s annoyingly attractive while he cooks up one scandal after another, making Lucy’s life a living hell. She has no desire to play babysitter just because management thinks it’s a good idea. But suddenly, she finds herself spending far too much time rubbing elbows with him, leaving Lucy to wonder if maybe, just maybe, she’s being drawn into a game she’s not sure she wants to play.
There’s nothing Dax Temple hates more than losing. Oh, right, that and Lucy James. She’s the last person he ever thought would get under his skin—but the more time they spend together, the more he finds himself fantasizing about her instead of his next win. When his biggest rival, Jack West, joins the team and starts flirting with her, Dax’s competitive streak ignites. But as the tension builds between him and Lucy, it’s becoming harder to tell whether they’re still playing a game—or if it’s something far more dangerous.
Do not let the cartoon cover or cheeky title fool you—Puck You Very Much serves way more than your average light hockey romance. Yes, it’s got the enemies-to-lovers setup, the PR girl wrangling a bad boy athlete, and all the familiar beats—but Sierra Lewis brings it to life with characters that breathe, emotional arcs that hit, and pacing that never lets up.
From page one, Dax Temple is a complete menace—grumpy, chaotic, and clearly spiraling. And I loved him for it. He’s not your typical bad boy with a heart of gold. He’s a mess. A gorgeous, hurting, deeply layered mess. And Lucy? Total queen. Her comebacks slap, her boundaries are solid, and she doesn’t let a single hockey god walk all over her. Their chemistry crackles, the banter bites, and the slow shift from “I hate you” to “oh no I might die for you” is executed to perfection.
There are family threads (his especially) that add real weight without dragging the story down, and even the side characters—Matt, Jack, Anna, Leon—are so well-done I was mentally casting them in their own spin-offs. This is the kind of series-starter that builds a world without losing the heart of the romance.
Now, let’s talk smut. There’s not a ton of it, and the scenes we do get are a little uneven—but I’m saying this as a certified smut queen: I did. Not. Care. The emotional tension, the pining, the character development? Fed me. The payoff wasn’t in the sex—it was in the journey. And I was obsessed.
This book is like homemade sangria in the summer: familiar, refreshing, just strong enough to surprise you, and absolutely what you need when you want a romance with feeling.
Such a nice hate-to-lovers novel set in the hockey world of the LA Hawks. Lucy is the PR of the team, determined to thrive in a man-dominated world. Dax is the player of the team, with so many scandals and one-night stands under his belt.
When Dax’s nemesis joins the team, Lucy is assigned to babysit Dax, meaning, she has to avoid him from falling into bed with so many women and keeping on accumulating scandals.
I’ve loved this book, the chemistry between Lucy and Dax is off the charts, their banter and barbs are a delight to read. And everything that unfolds in the plot, the twist and turns are incredibly interesting and kept me hooked from page 1.
Can’t wait to read book 2!
Thank you Sierra Lewis and The Author Agency for an ARC. All opinions are my own.
Lucy is incredible at her job as a PR consultant. The team loves her, her boss respects her, and everything is going smoothly - except for the fact that her favourite hockey player absolutely hates her. He's rude, ridicules her whenever possible, and is unreasonably hot. She's been able to deal with him for the past year, until her boss decides he needs a babysitter, and she's the only one she trusts to get the job done.
*****
This was an entertaining novel right out of the gates. Lucy and Dax genuinely hated each other, and were both so incredibly grumpy in each others presence. Seeing the team love them both separately as great people, and then having them be intolerable together truly highlighted how much antagonistic chemistry they had.
Both Lucy and Dax having family trauma that affected who they are today, and struggling with begrudging respect while those truths came to light, helped to develop a solid foundation after their previous one was a mess. There were some moments were the dialogue didn't really suit Dax. For someone so incredibly grumpy and reserved, the amount of sappier sentences ending in an exclamation mark had me a little baffled, but overall both of them were developed and interesting leads.
One of the best aspects of this book was a solid tension between them. They truly fought their feelings, and were completely unaware of what a relationship or love looked like, which made it comical to see how they progressed unaware. I will say that the tension itself was better than the intimate scenes - it was just that good! Overall if you want a fun enemies-to-lovers hockey romance, this one is for you.

Thank you to The Author Agency for the digital ARC. All thoughts and opinions are my own.
The family drama and relationship development were incorporated so well. There was hockey at the center of everything, but it didn't take over the story.
Lucy's job as a PR specialist for the LA Hawks is her dream job except for one little (big) problem - she has to babysit one of the players who's decided to make her life miserable, Dax Temple. He's rude, he's snarky, and he's too incredibly gorgeous for her peace of mind. They start off as enemies, but the more time they spend together reveals their real selves to each other. Not only do they have loss in common, they have the emotional scars because of it. Two emotionally stunted people not looking for, or wanting, a relationship or feelings should be the last people to engage in anything with each other, but they just cannot resist.
Lucy drives Dax nuts, in every kind of way. It's why the tension between them gets thicker with each exchange, until they finally give in. But he's the last person to be in a relationship, even one that's supposed to be casual. He doesn't even recognize his feelings for what they are, so how can he possibly tell her what he's feeling if he doesn't know?
These two enemies are so entertaining. They had chemistry in spades, hilarious, snarky banter, and damn did they fight their feelings for each other until they finally got their heads on straight thanks to some very enlightening chats with loved ones. I haven't had this much fun in a long time, reading as people fought each other and themselves while falling in love, as I did reading Dax and Lucy's witty love story.
ARC provided by The Author Agency for an honest review.
This is the first book I have read by Sierra Lewis and I loved Puck You Very Much. This enemies to lovers was a fun, quick read that I thoroughly enjoyed from beginning to end. I love that the MCs truly disliked each other in the beginning and fell for each other as the book progressed. It was refreshing to see two people find happiness with each other without any feelings being involved from either or. But as they spend more and more time together, they reveal layers of each other that bring them closer and closer.
Lucy is determined, hard working, and crushing her job as PR consultant for the LA Hawks. She is dominating in a sport that is mainly men. Although Lucy appreciates Dax’s hockey player skills, but his personality clashes with her, big time. When she is assigned to babysit Dax, she isn’t sure how to proceed. It is evident neither of them are happy about their new arrangement. But in true romance fashion, as they spend more time together and get to know each other on a different level, feelings begin to develop and they find solace in each other.
Dax is a great hockey player and loved by fans. However, when his nemesis joins his team, management assigns their PR consultant to keep him in check. Off the ice, he is grumpy and not very personable. As he spends more time with Lucy, he sees a different side to her and realizes she pulls a different side of him out also. But he does not need a relationship and despite how much he feels for Lucy, he won’t give in.
Sierra wrote two wonderful characters that truly fought their feelings for each other. They both are dealing with past trauma and not really knowing what real love looks like, it was a joy to watch them fall for each other together. The tension between them is palpable and oozed off the pages. Sierra truly gave this reader a wonderful enemies to lovers story that she couldn’t put down.
As always, review any author notes before reading.

Thoughts: The tension between these two was obvious from the start of the book. Dax had a past and so much anger in him that there’s no surprise that he found an enemy in Lucy when she started her job with something to prove.
All tension and broodiness made way to an entertaining story. There were unexpected layers to this one, but at the end of the day, I can’t pass up a bad boy MMC.

Star: ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
Puck You Very Much by Sierra Lewis is the first book in the L.A. Hawks Hockey series and offers a sizzling enemies-to-lovers romance set against the adrenaline-fuelled backdrop of professional hockey. Lucy James, a fiercely competent PR consultant, has zero tolerance for the overconfident, scandal-magnet players she works with—particularly Dax Temple, the star player whose smirk she wants to wipe off permanently. Her job demands damage control; what she doesn't expect is to find herself caught in the whirlwind of Dax’s magnetic pull, despite her instincts screaming to run the other way.
Dax Temple is used to being hated—on the ice, in the media, and by Lucy, who always seems to have a smart remark ready. But for the first time, being hated stings a little more than it should. Lucy is supposed to keep his image clean, but she ends up messing with his head instead. When rival player Jack West enters the scene and sets his sights on Lucy, Dax finds himself in a new kind of competition—one that matters far more than any scoreboard.
Packed with sharp banter, steamy tension, and heartfelt moments, the novel explores themes of redemption, vulnerability, and the blurry line between hate and love. It’s a romance filled with sparks, emotional depth, and the high-stakes drama of pro sports fame. Perfect for readers who enjoy fiery chemistry, bad boys with hidden hearts, and heroines who take no nonsense.
A hate to love sports romance as PR girls Lucy is thrown in at the deep end with her new job with the L.A. Hawks when her first task is to handle the bad boy….or perhaps that should be devil of ice hockey, Dax Temple. That day the battle lines were drawn between them and Lucy gained a reputation of being able to handle him so when a year later and Dax’s personal nemesis signs with the Hawks, Lucy was assigned to keep Dax out of trouble and his name out of the gossip columns.
I loved the idea of Lucy and Dax in Puck You Very Much. The whole idea of the petite woman, never without her five inch heels to give her that additional height going head to head with the big, gruff hockey player. I could just picture it in my mind as I read. Their dynamics were fabulous, the banter, sparring and flirting between those two characters and how they would swing from antimony to near lovers as you thought they were going to jump each other before retreating back to their mutual corners. The overall story was well written making it easy to read and emotionally engaging with a strong back story that explained the antagonism between Dax and Jack and the pacing and spice content was spot on. The secondary characters all brought something to proceedings and left this reader eager to read more in this series.
This is a true Hate to Lovers where they both hate each other from the first meeting. With that gives for great banter between these two that can get intense since neither one wants to back down.
Lucy works in PR and her only worry is her job and getting her promotion. She is also helping her sister with their father who is struggling after the loss of their mother and is also a reason Lucy does not do relationships. Dax is the team bad boy he is dealing with his own struggles and when his biggest one joins the team Lucy has to keep him in line. Secrets are revealed feelings are shown and it is a wild ride.
The team dynamic and banter adds a layer of fun and ease that I cannot wait for the rest of the team and excited for book 2 I was hoping for them through this book.

~~Quote~~ 👠It’s like you said. We fought. We lost. I don’t fight un-winnable wars 👠I know a lot about you Lucy. After all, they say you should know your enemy better than your friend.
Lucy James is a driven PR professional who has just been given the worst assignment of her career.
Dax Temple’s the playboy of professional hockey and has just been saddled with the one person that irritates him more than anyone else on the planet.
What happens when Lucy and Dax are forced to work together to save Dax’s reputation?
Puck You Very Much is the debut novel of Sierra Lewis and is an instant must read for all lovers of romance.
Lewis brings a fun, captivating story to life as we follow along to see if Lucy and Dax can figure out how to work together. From extreme dislike to great banter, Lucy and Dax are great main characters that are fun to read. Both in love with their careers, both struggling with family dynamics, and both convinced the other is the bane of their existence.
Lewis sets up a story filled with side characters that add fun and depth to the main storyline. She is setting up a universe that will likely be one of your new favorites. I am excited to see the continuation of this series and how each of these characters continue to develop.
If you’re looking for enemies to lovers, great banter, and you’re next favorite book, Puck You Very Much is the one you’re looking for!
my expectations of this were met so I cant give it 3 stars. however I have irks if youre going to write a hockey romcom pls include more hockey playing :/ or hockey themed rendezvous lucy is a short curvy ginger obsessed with anxiety to her own detriment. have u heard of therapy? have you heard of logic? I’m more annoyed that the smartest person might be 11 ft 250lb of muscle dax. of every character he had the most (and also least?) emotional maturity
if he's so hot why is he never working out btw, like I know he is but not proving it is rude
why are none of these guys married? there coulda been a great yoda moment for them
next time I want a tall girl romcom like why r they always petite and curvy why cant we all be 5'11 and strong???
ALSO WHY ARE TOU USING CORREct MEDICAL TERMS LIKE HELLO WERE GETTING FREAKY THEN YOU WHIP OUT "penis" LIKE COME ON YOU CAN SLANG IT UP I also find it highly disappointing that there wasn't prolonged pining - youre a smart boy just work for it.
I think matt was the most normal hockey guy, like average and polite - why did he not peace keep earlier
also in what world would these 2 not fall in love in forced enemies to lovers proximity.
these sound like complaints but get this right:
I WANTED A EASY SMUT READ AND I GOT IT. Hooray!!!?? 🙌🏻
A delightful enemies-to-lovers tale set in the hockey world of the LA Hawks. Lucy acts as the team's PR, dedicated to achieving success in a male-dominated setting. Dax is the team’s player, boasting several scandals and one-night encounters to his name.
Dax Temple is used to being unpopular—on the rink, in the media, and with Lucy, who always seems ready with a witty comeback. Nonetheless, for the first time, the sensation of being unloved stings a little more than it should. Lucy is supposed to uphold his reputation, yet she ultimately perplexes him instead. When rival Jack West shows up and concentrates on Lucy, Dax encounters a different kind of competition—something far more crucial than any scoring.
Lucy James is a dynamic achiever and a dedicated PR consultant for the LA Hawks hockey team. She is determined to succeed in a society dominated by men. She seeks respect from the players, yet Dax Temple has made her life and job difficult from the very start.
The charm is evident, the bond is deep, and the conversations are witty, but witnessing this couple show their vulnerability raised this book to greater levels.
I absolutely loved this enemies to lovers hockey romance. I couldn’t put it down and finished it in one day.
Lucy works PR for the LA Hawks and she is assigned to the playboy, Dax. She is told to keep him in line and fix his reputation. Lucy had me cracking up with her witty banter. Lucy takes her job very seriously and does whatever it takes to get the job done. She lost her mother so her and her sister have been trying to take care of her father who is struggling with the loss. Lucy isn’t interested in love and doesn’t let a man ever get close enough.
Dax is the ultimate playboy. He is only worried about hockey, his sister, and his next hookup. He doesn’t have the best reputation off the ice either. He also hates his birthday and when I found out why, my heart broke for him.
Dax and Lucy love to get under one another’s skin. Their banter is the best and had me cracking up. But deep down, Dax respects her, even if he is a pain in her butt. Both sides have some personal family issues and end up confiding in one another about it. The two get closer and feelings start to blur the lines.
Rating: ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ | Spice: Slow-burn seduction meets tension-thick banter Smut Scale: 4/5 — When it hits, it wrecks you.
Enemies-to-lovers? Baby, this isn’t a trope—it’s an art form, and Sierra Lewis is the damn painter. Puck You Very Much is everything my spicy little hockey heart needed. The banter? Oscar-worthy. The emotional gut punches? UNHINGED. And Dax Temple? That man is 50% chaos, 50% angst, and 100% book boyfriend material.
Lucy James is a powerhouse. She’s sharp, savage, and stubborn as hell—and I love her for it. The tension between her and Dax could’ve melted the ice at center rink. And when that slow burn finally hits? Yeah, I nearly threw my Kindle across the room—in a good way.
But the moment that truly ended me? That conversation with her dad:
> “We meet so few people who are just right for us... we should hold onto them.”
That line punched me directly in the soul. I sobbed. Hugged my emotional support blanket. And immediately reread it.
Final thoughts?
You’ll laugh. You’ll swoon. You’ll feel personally attacked by how hard you fall for a fictional hockey player.
🚨Bookstagram fam, STOP what you’re doing and #ONECLICK PUCK YOU VERY MUCH by Sierra Lewis!! 🏒🔥
This book gave me everything I love and then some 😍
💥Enemies-to-lovers tension? Chef’s kiss. 💥A cocky, tortured bad boy who falls first? YES PLEASE. 💥Forced proximity + forbidden romance + revenge plot? I was HOOKED.
Dax Temple is the playboy hockey star everyone warns you about—and yet, somehow, you still fall HARD. 😈 And Lucy? Our queen. Tough, smart, no-nonsense PR boss who does not have time for his crap…until he starts showing sides no one else gets to see 👀
Their banter? Elite. Their chemistry? 🔥🔥🔥 The slow-burn payoff? WORTH. IT.
It’s enemies-to-lovers perfection with office romance heat and just the right amount of angst and heart. If you love a manwhore tamed by the one woman who can, Dax & Lucy’s story will ruin you in the best way 😮💨💔
📚Tropes you’ll love: 🔥 enemies-to-lovers 🏒 bad boy + tortured hero 🔥 he falls first 🏒 stuck together 🔥 forbidden love 🏒 office romance energy 🔥 manwhore tamed 🏒 a little revenge, a lot of spice
Lucy James is a fire-cracker, a dedicated PR consultant for the LA Hawks hockey team. She is determined to be the best in a male dominant world. She wants to be respected by the players, but Dax Temple makes her life and job difficult since day one. Dax Temple accumulates scandals and one-night stands. He is an amazing player but a PR nightmare. They are forced into spending time together to work on his image, self-control and avoid more scandals that could cost him his career. They get on each other’s nerves and are always fighting, but they are also under each other’s skin. They just can’t shale off the attraction between them. Bad boy Dax is suddenly in love and doesn’t know how to react, since Lucy is even more skittish than him. The book is filled with banter, steamy and heartfelt moments full of vulnerability. A story of how people can learn to put their guards down in the name of love. A story about redemption and overcoming shortcomings and insecurities. Thank you for the opportunity to read this ARC.
i really enjoyed reading this book, the people are so funny! the quick come backs and sassy comical comments! even though there sometimes are just a few sentences shared, you still get a feel for the people and their characters. And trust me, the annoyance is high between the two main characters.
i think the author did an amazing job with writing a story about two people that have never been in love, and to find love in each other. Their struggle is believable as is their acceptance to all the feelings they have.
i give this book 4 out of 5 stars only because i found it sometimes hard to understand from which third view perspective the scenes was written from, and I had to read a bit to know if it was from FMC or MMC.
but otherwise i loved the story, the hot open door scenes, the sassy come backs and oh my god their banter was hilarious!!
If you love banter, open door romance with a lot of sassy and funny comments, this is the book for you.
✨I received this book as an ARC for free in exchange for an honest review✨ 🖤 Hockey Romance 🖤 He Falls First 🖤 Workplace Romance 🖤 Reformed Playboy 🖤 Grumpy X Sunshine 🖤 Enemies to Lovers
Puck you very much was a sweet fun read. A romcom story of enemies to lovers with undeniable chemistry. Lucy is working her dream job as LA Hawks PR coordinator who is tasked with the impossible job of “babysitting” the worlds biggest playboy and star hockey player, Dax. Dax is known to be ruthless on and off the ice and now his world will be turned upside down when his nemesis is traded to be on his team. Lucy will need to manage Dax’s emotions and make sure that he stays out of the public eye. As their story unfolds with plots and twists, banter filled tension and emotional growth, Lucy and Dax begin to rely on each other and cross the line from enemies to lovers. I can’t wait to read the next book of this series. Thank you to the Author Sierra Lewis and The Author Agency for the ARC of this book.
This author has a lot of promise but she didn’t quite make it with this book.
Her idea for the plot was pretty original, even amongst hockey romances. I enjoyed the ideas for each of the scenes and they were carried out in a conversational way.
Please, please, please take out every single exclamation point. They did absolutely nothing for the story except annoy me. There were also very few times that the author made a comparison that I actually followed because her metaphors were heinous. Please choose more common metaphors or use them in the correct way?
I enjoyed the banter a lot but I also felt like there could be more. There was a lot of tell, not show, and she uses blushing as a physical descriptor a little more than necessary. I wish she’d given some more embellishing descriptions.
Every character has one singular character trait and they all fell really flat for me. I liked the idea of so many of her ideas but they just weren’t carried out enough. I want more from my reading experience and I think she could do more.
Dax is a star hockey player with a reputation for scandal and PR consultant Lucy has been tasked with baby sitting him before he loses his career. The problem? They seriously dislike each other! But when Dax’s biggest rival, Jack, joins the team and immediately starts flirting with Lucy, Dax see’s red. But why does it bother him so much? He doesn’t even like her. Right? And what is the cause of the decade long rivalry between Dax and Jack?
We all know I love a bit of hockey and a bit of enemies to lovers so this is book is right up my street! And let me tell you, it did not disappoint! The bickering between Dax and Lucy was top tier! And when I found out the reason Dax and Jack don’t get on I was shook! Really enjoyed this one! Can’t wait for book two because I just know it’s going to be one I can’t put down!
This is an ARC review and all opinions are my own. Thank you to The Author Agencyfor the ARC copy of this book and for the opportunity to read and review it
"Sierra is a new to me author, and after finishing this book I will definitely be reading more from her in the future. Without reading the first word, I knew I was going to enjoy this story as sports romance novels are my absolute favorite books to read. What made this the 5 stars I gave it was because of the incredible characters, Dax & Lucy. But it was also the supporting characters as well that made this so incredible. Then when you add in the slight taboo nature of their budding romance, well I couldn’t not love this book anymore. I laughed so many times at both the main characters, I cringed a few times as well. But by the end of the book I was happy that I had just finished an amazing story and smiled a little harder after finding out that I am going to be able to step back into this world in a month or two away" ~Sharon
A laugh out loud romance that from page 1 I just knew I was going to enjoy. First time reading this author and I will gladly read more. ~Jen
The only reason I can finish this book is its fast-pace and I want to see how more ridiculous it can be become. Both MCs don't act like they are grow-ass adults but teenagers. Some of their banter, though I was cracking up, is actually stupid. I mean how the heck the FMC is shocked because he cooks, does dishes, washes his clothes like NORMAL HUMAN? Like duh, of course he will do it. Womaniser is still human alrighty :))) And I don't know why the author keeps repeat about Lucy's professionalism when she decides to let her f*cking with the MMC while they have the shoot with many people waiting for them outside. Yep, very professional I see. I could say that Lucy is the most silly FMC I have ever read as how come she didn't even realise that she was in the relationship with Dax???! Like hello, are we in the same wavelength :v
Honestly, I think I would give up that I will find something good in SYKD. No good book comes for free tho.

Didn’t really like this. The pacing was messy. They start off as enemies yet said enemies’ scenes were scarce, or lesser than I expected. I had wanted their enemies situation to last longer & for them to fight verbally and still have chemistry + tension.
The hero and heroine liked to play games with each other. Heroine pretending to flirt with another man to rile the hero up, and the hero ignoring the heroine. I found that whole situation childish, as was the hero and heroine. They behaved more like teenagers than adults.
Then because of work, they have to be joined at the hip for a few weeks and suddenly the hero decides to drop his guard, stop being an ass to the heroine, and ends up sleeping with her. Heroine prides herself on being professional but still ends up sleeping with the hero anyway.
Their “I love you” was abrupt. The emotional bonding was lacking. Neither realized they were in relationship, and then came the denial.
All in all, a messy and unremarkable book.

PR whiz Lucy has secured her dream job as the right hand and likely successor to a trailblazer in publicity, handling relations for her favorite NHL team. When she’s tasked with improving the public image of a notoriously challenging but gifted player at a crucial moment for himself personally and for the team, he decides to make her life as close to a living h3ll as possible.
As he adjusts to his team adding his nemesis to the roster, hockey legend and bad boy Dax is h3ll bent on defying and and all suggestions from his team-appointed PR babysitter for endearing himself to the fans. What begins as defiance and sabotage quickly takes a far more intimate turn, with Dax and Lucy’s bickering giving way to passion.
This was a very cute, steamy, enemies to lovers hockey romance. I was generously furnished an advance reader copy from The Author Agency, and I’m sharing my honest review.
Puck You Very Much Is PR consultant Lucy James and hockey playboy Dax Temple’s entertaining enemies to lovers romance. This is book one in the L.A. Hawkes Hockey Series and I was drawn into this witty, steamy and heartwarming story and I loved everything about it from the characters to the story and everything in between. Lucy loves her job working got the LA Hawks hockey team but there is one person who makes her job difficult and that’s Dax. When he goes too far and his one nights stand turn in scandal she is forced to work one on one with him to clean up his image. Spending time together has them go from fighting to loving and it’s not long before the enemies become lovers. The attraction is obvious, the chemistry is hot and the banter is witty but it was watching this couple show their vulnerability that took this book to another level.
•When we first meet Dax Temple, he's very much an arrogant PR nightmare that we love to hate, but by the end is someone that we love to love. • Lucy James is the girl that kicks ass, takes names, & who can fix any PR nightmare thrown at her, including Dax Temple. I LOVE her so much because she doesn't take anyone's SHIT & helps anyone, anytime no matter what. • Dax Temple's secrets are what kept me reading & at the edge of my seat. I was definitely swooning over the BOTH of them. • I definitely wanted more of their love story but just didn't get enough of them like I wanted. I just wish the book had been longer & had more details. If I had that it would have been a 5-star read for me. Hopefully the next book has a lot more detail in it. • But overall, I liked the story line, it was well thought out & 1 cannot wait to read about the next L.A. Hawks player.
Sierra is a new to me author, and after finishing this book I will definitely be reading more from her in the future. Without reading the first word, I knew I was going to enjoy this story as sports romance novels are my absolute favorite books to read. What made this the 5 stars I gave it was because of the incredible characters, Dax & Lucy. But it was also the supporting characters as well that made this so incredible. I love a great LOL hockey romance that just keeps the banter fresh and the tension high. These characters were absolutely a hoot to read about because the tension from them was top notch. I loved how hard they fought with one another while being completely clueless as to how each other actually felt.
Dax was such an arrogant athlete with his demands and persona he had adopted since he started in the NHL. I adored his first interaction with Lucy, because she stood up to him and simply wouldn't allow Dax to derail her job opportunity. She was 5 feet of sass and determination to make it in the PR business and a male dominated sports industry. I loved that she matched his energy and refused to back down to his bark that was much bigger than his bite.
And honestly, when she is forced to be his personal PR consultant, aka his babysitter, I was giggling like crazy. They both were not fans of the idea, but I loved that Lucy secretly made a copy of his key and had a tracker app on his phone. Funnier was that she saw no problem with how she made both tasks happen. She simply matched him for who he was and knew what to expect.
Together, these two were fun to read since they were both clueless that they were in a relationship. They both couldn't see what they could be because they both were afraid of labels and simply didn't know what a relationship looked like. It was fun watching them realize they had fallen and what that meant. They were simply a fun couple coming to terms with their past and what they saw for a future. Loved reading this story.

Lucy is a driven, strong, FMC. When she gets her dream job working for PR for a professional hockey team, she is thrilled to jump in. Her boss sends her to prep Dax Temple for a press conference.
Dax is trying to workout to channel his rage that it is his birthday. When chipper Lucy walks in and tries to prep him he lashes out. He was shocked when she wasn’t cowed by his rude behavior.
Dax’s off the ice behavior has been out of control. It is impacting the team’s ticket sales sponsors, and public opinion. Despite their very public hatred of each other Lucy’s boss tasks her with being his personal PR rep, aka babysitter.
The banter is so fun. The character’s have deep histories that help make this contemporary romance more impactful. I can’t wait to start the next one.
