Tee Seabrone is a multi-talented author and fashion designer from Cleveland, Ohio. Her journey into storytelling began in elementary school, where she crafted chapter books that ignited her passion for narrative creation.

In addition to her literary pursuits, Tee is the co-founder of Tian Zevon, a thriving handbag and accessories brand. Through her entrepreneurial endeavors, she found both the time and inspiration to reignite her joy for writing.

And the award for the most diabolical and unhinged couple goes too… Elias & Cami.. I am still trying to figure out what did I just read! This twisted couple took me through a series of emotions during this story as secrets, secrets, and more secrets were revealed. If you throw in a couple of sociopaths, mixed with a little murd3r & mayhem… you’ll get a story called Body Count! Recommend for fans of domestic thrillers, that enjoy deep levels of betrayal, gaslighting and manipulation!

WTAF did I just read? This book was far too descriptive & drawn out in general but the constant graphic sex scenes were just over the top. Bizarre twists.. unnecessarily long. My favorite part of this book was when it was over. I had to force myself to finish it because I'm not a quitter but like wtf?

I really wanted to like this book. I seen the author describe it in one of the physcological thriller groups on FB. The description didn’t meet the book or come up in it at all. I was confused thinking I was reading the wrong book by her but I went back to the post and it was this one. This book dragged on. Was soooo vague I didn’t know what I was about. Around 45% you get more of an insight to Camilles marriage with Elias. I wanted to DNF but there were so many good ratings here I stuck it out. I was rooting for Makai but in the end the whole book was just bleh. I’m glad I didn’t buy it on Amazon just because of the black pages.

DNF. I got so bored I was forcing myself to read it just to finish but gave up around 70%. It’s just a weird book and the premise is just a bit pointless. And enough with the constant very explicit sex scenes, felt like there wasn’t enough to fill the book so that was just added every other chapter for the sake of.

And I mean that with admiration, I truly do, somewhat. 

After finishing Body Count, I sat at my desk for what felt like hours. I was trying to wrap my head around what I just read. I was also trying to figure out how to write a review that conveyed how insane, disturbing, psychotic and FREAKING AMAZING this book was to read without dropping any spoilers. After sitting, attempting to write, and giving up for sleep, I am now wide awake. I was determined this morning. Convinced I could do this, not an issue.

 
I.                      Was.        Wrong.

 
Tee Seabrone’s Body Count has broken my reviewing skills. Every way I have tried to twist this review in my style has dropped spoilers. I am NOT a spoiler kind of girl. I love to tease y'all, make you want to read the book I am reviewing but not ruin parts of it for you.

So, after going to bed to allow my brain to marinate on what I read and see what I could come up with, I have woken up this morning and come to one conclusion. Tee Seabrone has broken me.

I tried to write my normal review: opening, synopsis, character debriefing, plot twist/turns, recommendation of the book and to get the “My thank you to the author” part written. I have managed to write the thank to the author to my normal format, that is it.

So, today I am throwing my norm out of the way and I am going to just write a quick little something about the book then tell you to go buy the book, read it and then thank me later.

“I wasn’t made for love, but that doesn’t mean I didn’t reach for it. Love just never reached back.”

 Body Count is a dark, twisted, romantically inclined, psychological thriller. Seabrone has masterfully written this disturbingly intense story that makes you question not only yourself, but those around you. A cast of characters so emotionally charged with manipulation, trauma, murder, violence, and gaslighting yet underneath it all, love simmers slow and steady until just the right moment. With her natural skill for writing, Seabrone gives us details that allow us to feel every moment, of every scene that she vividly lays out for us. With quick pacing, Body Count is a fast read that has seamless transitioning immersing the reader in the STORY not just in a book. I don't know what has a higher count, bodies or plot twists! Seabrone definitely knows how to draw you into the story and misdirect you then drop a twist that will give you whiplash! I don't know how I managed to make it through without having to visit a chiropractor. The one thing that I can tell you, Body Count is a MUST-READ book.

So, go buy the book. Read the book. Then sit and think about it – join me in my brokenness. Tee Seabrone, if I am unable to write any reviews after this, I blame you – with love, of course <3.

I wanted to like this book. I really tried to, but I just didn’t like it. It was way to drawn out and unnecessary descriptive. Overall I think it was pretty boring. The twist seemed like it had twists for the sake of having twist and all the twists didn’t make sense. I forced myself to get through this because I was hoping it would get better but it didn’t. I didn’t find the characters relatable or likable. I didn’t care what happened to them at all. The spicy scenes weren’t that spicy. Overall this book just wasn’t for me.

Okay, this was a page turner and mind fucker. Was not expecting it to go the way it did!
One of my top five psychological/thriller/suspense reads ever. Do yourself a favour and read this, it won't disappoint!

Just finished… and BABY.

This book did not come to play.

The writing style? Effortless. It’s one of those reads where the words just glide. You blink and you’re 100 pages deep. It’s just crafted well and every line hits. Every chapter felt intentional.

Cami?
Cami is poetic af. The way she speaks, thinks, moves it’s like reading somebody’s inner diary mixed with spoken word. There were so many real life gems and quotes in this book that I wanted to highlight the whole damn thing. Like, I’m supposed to be reading a thriller, but I’m also getting therapy?? Okay!

Let’s talk spice though:
It’s in there. And it’s grown. Not just heat for heat’s sake, but beautifully layered, emotional, messy in the best way. It’s giving passion wrapped in poetry. 🔥

What really hit me was how deep it went into childhood wounds and how those ghosts follow these characters into their adult choices. Every character felt real. And seeing their lives through their own lenses tugged on something in me.

Oh and the twists?
Don’t even wait for the ending. This book throws curveballs early, and keeps em coming. For the sake of not spoiling, I won’t go into detail.

Then that epilogue.
Yeah. Y’all not ready. You need to read this.
And when you get to the end. We need to talk.

Obsessed with this!! 5 ⭐️’s!!! I was pulled in from the content advisory, to be honest. I was lucky to receive this as an ARC, and it was also my first book from Tee Seabrone. (Spoiler; it won’t be my last. Getting ready for “Insomnia” as I type this.)

“Body Count” was the perfect mix of mystery, deception, intensity, and sex. The connection between Cami and Elias is phenomenal and they might have one of the most interesting relationships I’ve seen, and I loved every second of watching every twist and turn unfold. The games between both characters and the lengths each one is willing to go to had me on the edge of my seat! I really appreciated the writing style and felt it was a really good fit for this kind of story.

Thank you Tee for giving me the chance to go on this beautifully dark journey! Speaking of beautiful, the physical copy of this is printed on pages just as dark as the plot! (There is also a “light mode” on white pages and it looks just as flawless, but the black pages pop too much to miss out on grabbing it!)

This book explores power, manipulation, and the reckless decisions people make when their emotions get the better of them. The premise is gutsy, and even the cover nails that unsettling vibe the story gives off.

The writing style was a highlight for me. The narration is lush and detailed, and the main character’s voice has this naturally poetic, mysterious quality. Her thoughts are packed with vivid, metaphorical lines that really show how complex she is. It made the whole story feel deeper.

At first, I was a little overwhelmed by the number of characters introduced, but I actually had no trouble keeping them straight. Watching the shifting relationships and power dynamics kept things interesting. The steamier moments didn’t stand out as much, since they’re mostly delivered through narration.

I will say the pacing was slower than I expected, some parts dragged, and the suspense didn’t always hit as hard as I wanted. But there were still plenty of moments that pulled me in and made me want to see what would happen next.

I went in reading Body Count mostly blind. I knew it was a thriller and had suspicions on other content based on the cover, but I didn't realize this was going to be a dark romance as well.

I received this story as an ARC and it was my first novel by Seabrone. It took me a couple chapters to really find the flow in her writing style, but once I got going I found it very easy to read.

As we learned more about Cami and Elias I kept finding myself pondering the whole idea of 'nature vs nurture'. I had some suspicions of the roles these characters played, but I found out just how wrong I was the more I read. Their story was more twisted than I could have imagined and I couldn't have predicted how it all played out.

There is definitely a lot of spicy scenes throughout the chaos as well.

I gave this 3.5/4 stars. I enjoyed the story, but felt some parts were random or added in without much context. I'm definitely curious about other books by this author.

4.5 ⭐️ because this was a wild ride of twists and turns. these men were playing checkers and Cami was over here playing 3D chess and sees the long game. The people who are close enough to her are neither friend nor foe - something in the middle.

People couldn’t understand if Cami was a mastermind manipulator or misunderstood woman but again they would be wrong. This book moves fast and you need to pay attention to the details - it really drives the story in one direction and then you’re kind of pleasantly shocked only to have the only bit of happiness snatched away.

Bodies fall. The body count goes up.

This book was gripping from the beginning. With love, murder and plotting it was perfectly messy. When there was one question answered another twist was thrown in the mix keeping the story flowing and keeping me on my toes. There were relationships being forged, relationships being broken, murder of course and dead bodies all over the place.

The spice was not overdone and was a little bit of seasoning added to the story where many often use only salt and pepper.

This book really explored how trauma can shape a person in a darker way like Cami says “when a woman stops being afraid of the monster, she becomes one.”

Dark, thriller, mystery that will have you in it's grip immediately. But wow, what a whirlwind... just when I'd think I have it figured out, it throw me another curve ball in. I literally thought to myself, "What am I reading?" multiple times!! This book is more psychological thriller, with a little bit of smut sprinkled in. But the characters are unhinged! But it was so good, definitely kept me on my toes!

Body Count was a very twisty thriller. We took so many turns, I'm not sure where I ended up. Cami seems to just want power and control over everyone and everything. This story is full of manipulation, lies, paranoia, and betrayal. Some parts of the story gave off "Mr. and Mrs. Smith" vibes and that portion of the story really just showed the character depth to Cami and Elias and how cunning and vindictive their characters were. I enjoyed the thrill and tension of the story. By the end of this story, I felt like I was manipulated.

Spoilers! I really wanted to like this book. The story had potential, but maybe the writing style was not for me. It felt choppy and like too much was going on. I mean a serial killer husband, but actually you know that because you are one too, but you also have a hitman boyfriend whose mother orchestrated your meeting and who is also involved in contract killing. Like it kind of lost focus. After Elias was killed I was definitely ready for it to wrap up, but it kept going throwing new wrenches into the plot line.

In the beginning I was a bit lost at what was going on and trying to figure it out and once I felt like I caught on a plot twist happened and I was lost again. After a couple of weeks I had to take a break from it. Then a month went by I started reading it again and was able to get what was going on once I got to the part where she actually started explaining the relationship between Cami and Elias and then why Malike was there. I had to push through and ended up FINALLY finishing it on my kindle.

Thank you for the ARC. This was my first book by this author but not my last. For the most part, this was a pretty fast paced read. It had a few moments of being slow and drug out. I felt some of the sex scenes weren’t necessary and repetitive but also pretty hot. The last 25% was actually quite slow for me when I’m used to most books giving you that punch the last 25%. Overall, I enjoyed it. There was manipulation, secrets, lies, murder, betrayal, sex, etc. A good combo of themes.

I could not put this book down. I stayed up way later than I thought but had no regrets!

This was my first book by Tee Seabrone and I was not disappointed.

The way this book was written is everything. Details, plot, spice, murD3r, chaos, it is ALL THERE!!

If you need a thriller with spice and an epilogue that will have you 🫨😮, go ahead and add this one to your ereader. Right now, do it.

wasn’t for me

This was so hard to get into and then keep reading, ended up skimming the whole middle and skipping to the end. The plot was ok but the writing was just so … extra. Like it was trying too hard to be dark and mysterious idk. I’m not sure if it’s a writing style or just the atmosphere of the book? I don’t mean to come across as rude or condescending and definitely don’t let this stop you from giving it a chance, love this genre, this was just a miss for me.

I tried.

I tried with this book. I did. It took me almost a month to get through. And I’m a pretty fast reader. But it didn’t draw me back in. Time moves really quickly in this book. Like days will go by in a few sentences. And that lady (the MC) had sex every other scene. Not necessarily with the same person. The book finally started making sense towards the end…but it wasn’t even good sense. Idk how else to describe it. The book just wasn’t that good.

Overall I really liked this book. The sex scenes early on are a bit repetitive, don't need to be so graphic every time. I don't mind them, just got a little boring. The book had some good twists and I did not expect some of them or the ending.

Umm what
Couples that kill together don’t always stay together.. the wife trials was by far the most craziest thing I’ve heard in the fact that Elias knew everything that she was doing was crazy super crazy that his first kills with her, turned him into a spree killer when he wanted to feel the urges.

Mr. & Mrs. Smith vibes??

Both MCs have ISSUES, which they hold over each other’s head for years. Full of hatred, lust, and fake(ish?) hatred-based spice. The gasps I gasped? Many. The twists had me genuinely shocked to the point that I didn’t believe it was over until it was over.

May or may not teach you how to make crimes look like an “accident”…. until you get too messy.

Erm yeah no.. definitely a dnf
Totally unnecessary sex scenes and unrealistic characters. No cohesion with the chapters to the point I thought I’d skipped pages by accident and obvious mistakes with the writing ie names of characters being different from 1 chapter to the next. It feels like it’s been translated from a different language and hasn’t been checked to see if it makes sense.
