How can three sisters escape marriage to three old men? Run to Texas and marry three identical brothers!
The Blue sisters are desperate. When terrible lies about Bonnie, Gwen and Libby are spread all over town, a scandal of epic proportions erupts. To save the family from further disgrace, their father promises them to three of the most lecherous old goats in Beckham, Massachusetts. They would do anything to avoid such a miserable fate, including becoming mail order brides.
Walton Dalton, the oldest of identical triplets, has dreams of building a ranching empire in north Texas. He’s claimed his land, but now he needs to convince his brothers to join him. He knows all he has to do is ask for their help and they’ll come, but are Nate and Bart as ready as Walt is to take a wife and settle down? Aw heck, what they don’t know won’t hurt ‘em!
The Escape is the short prologue to three connected books by historical western romance authors Kirsten Osbourne, Cassie Hayes and Kit Morgan.
A nice, cliffhanging kind of introduction to The Dalton Brides series. The three books in the series are, The Rancher's Mail Order Bride by Kristen Osbourne, The Drifter's mail Order Bride by Cassie Hayes, and The Cowboy's Mail Order Bride by Kit Morgan.
Let the reader beware, this is only a prologue, not a short story. It's like a movie teaser. There is no resolution.
This was just an introduction the all the main characters who will be in the The Dalton Bride Series. I really didn't think this was necessary and it left me feeling more confused than enlightened. I will try reading the first book in series and see if I like it better than the prologue. I really don't think the prologue did justice the author's writing skills.
A short introduction to the series The Dalton Brides. This short novella introduces us to each of the Dalton triplets individually and gives us a peek into their different personalities. It also gives us a very short into the three Blue sisters and tells us why they decide to become mail order brides through Elizabeth Miller's agency. (another Brides of Beckham tie-in! I love it when that happens.)
Just the prologue and it did not encourage me to read the remainder of the story. I felt no affinity with any of the characters and was not swayed by their back stories. My only thought is that they probably deserve each other.
35 pages long. The other 25 of the e-book are taken with advertising other books by the three authors. Interestingly,, none of the three books that this is the prologue to is available on iBooks.
This is just a prologue, of course, so you are only getting a sample of what's to come. With that said, it appears like the writing style is more blunt and clipped than flowing prose. The character development will continue with each story, I hope. All in all, a nice light western romance with a little spin on the normal mail order bride concept. I haven't decided yet if I'll read more or not.
Whatever you do, don't blink while you are reading this book. You will miss something for sure. I actually feel like there should have been a little more story on the sisters side of the tale.
Where's the rest? I thought I was getting a full book. Instead, this is 4 excerpts of books. They are good books, though. I guess I'll have to get the whole books.😊
This is the Prologue to the Dalton Brides series. It is written by several different authors they all sound very good. I can not wait to start the next book.
I love the mail-order bride genre, and I can already tell that this series is going to be a good read. The characters are intriguing and have a lot of potential for interesting plots. Each written by a different author, the three books in the series center around one of a set of triplets who are 'encouraged' by the eldest, to settle down and start a ranching 'empire' with him. Unknown to the two youngest, he also sends away for brides for the three of them. Being threatened with marriage to the old, pervy deacons of their church after an embarrassing scandal, the three Blue sisters head out in the middle of the night to begin their lives as ranchers' wives. Imagine the fun when they find out that two of the brothers don't even know they're coming. I can't wait!
This is the prologue for the Dalton Brides series. This a good way to help you decide whether the Dalton Brides series is for you. Each book can standalone. Walt decides at 27, that it is time to settle down. He has bought land for him and his brothers. Since he is the oldest of the triplets, it has always been his responsibility to take care of the other two. Walt writes a letter and tells the woman about the ranch and his brothers. The brides-to-be are sisters. They have a major problem with their town so Bonnie, the oldest, has decided that they will leave home and become brides to men in Texas. The letter from Walt seems just perfect for them. When they arrive in Texas, a problem develops, what will it be? You can read the books in any order, but the suggested order is the Rancher's Mail-Order Bride, the Cowboy's Mail-Order Bride, and the Drifter's Mail-Order Bride.
bk.5 Escape 4*- prologue just background info on the Dalton brothers and Blues Sisters both sets triplets . The girls had strict parents and was going to make all three sisters marry the 3 old deacons because of a “scandal”. (spoilers- The deacons wanted the women for alternative ussage-slavery thats what the main theme in the series rescuing the woman before sold.It doesn’t become clear till bk4) The men after years of hard work got the ranch ready to be settled down the oldest Walton decided they all need to get married that's when he set off for mail order brides. The thing is he didn’t tell his brothers.
I was looking for a follow up series to a previous western mail order bride series and decided to give this a shot. This review is for the prologue, book 1 and book 2. This series is about three triplet brothers who learn to love their mail order brides. These books are apparently written by different authors. I did not like the first one it was just slow and the characters where annoying. The second one was good and I enjoyed it a lot. I just did not enjoy having to repeat parts of the story we already know. I hate books that repeat themselves. It drives me crazy!!
This is an immersion into a new series from three imaginative authors. If you love mail order brides, pioneers and lots of laughter, we can't be disappointed. After reading this book I have an idea of the personalities of these characters and a peek at that stories to come. And finally get to know the wonderful Walton Dalton!
This Novella is the prequel to the stories of the The Dalton triplets and how they end up marrying 3 sisters through a mail order bride service. I have double first cousins in my ancestry, but triple first cousins could get very interesting. Given the personalities revealed of each brother and of the sister they chose, I think this could be a very interesting series.
The prologue is an interesting start to three brothers and three sisters who have different ideas about marriage. This ought to be an awesome trilogy. Three fantastic authors doing their thing. I can hardly wait.
Why did u not finish one book at a time. I did not enjoy these inserts at all. Now I don't know what to think of your writing skills, enjoyed what you started with the first one did not read much of the other two, want to read all in the same book.
Great prologue into a series, The Dalton Brides. In this we get to meet the triplet brothers out West, and the daughters of an East Coast family. This sets up how they are going to be brought together...
