Run #1

Beginnings

Rate this book

Natalie Evers is running away.

She is running away from her home, her practice, and most of all, her broken heart.
She runs as far as she can go which lands her in a remote town in the backwoods of Canada. As she tries to find a new life for herself in this isolated and wild bit of country, the last thing Natalie expects is to find herself right back on the doorstep of heart-tugging attraction.

And yet that’s exactly what happens when she literally runs into Eric Mitchells. And although she could deny him with all her might, Eric is determined to peel back and look beyond the mask she has learned to wear. Despite the Canadian frost, Natalie’s heart soon begins to melt. Slowly, she realizes she might’ve truly found a home in Eric’s strong and secure arms.

But the woods of her small town are alive with mystery. She can sense a kind of ancient and otherworldly energy vibrating in the wind. Beasts roam the dark. And Natalie can sense Eric might not truly be who or what he says he is. Just as she is beginning to let herself fall towards that scary ‘L’ word, she realizes she might not have been the only one running after all….

Note: This is part of a serial and ends on a cliffhanger. The second part will be released in a few weeks.

She comes to a small Canadian township, as a replacement doctor.
She was determined to do it inn her own. However, Eric decided that wasn't going to happen.
Then his secret escaped, and now where did she stand?

I liked the pacing

It wasn’t too fast it wasn’t to slow, it was a great balance so you weren’t getting bored but then not gobsmacked by instalove either

Run!!!

Natalie thought running away would solve her problems and in one way they did. She just ran into the hottest shifter around and was she ever happy about that! The story was very well written, but I noticed a few typos. Just slightly distracted me enough that I sometimes had to reread the sentence or paragraph. Still worth the time to read and I am going to be reading the other books in this series. Hope you enjoy this like I did!!!

Big town girl in a small Canadian town. What a place to run away to. Enter one hot handyman and just think of all the things he can fix with his tool.

Vert matter of fact

The meeting in the hardware store was so well done. The rest not so much. The story needs depth and details. The writing is very bare bones.
