Born in Tehran in 1977 and raised in Osaka Prefecture.
After graduating with a law degree from Kansai University, Nishi made her debut as a novelist with Aoi in 2004. Her sophomore novel Sakura became a best-seller next year. She is also known for her novels Tsutenkaku, Kofuku Midori no and Entaku.
It's got the usual Nishi vibe to it and made me laugh out loud at times but honestly I did not enjoy the story too much.
The main character is mentally very unstable and has lots of negative things to say about everything in his life. He visits New York, which he researched a great deal about before going there, but his mental state constantly keeps him from fully enjoying his trip. His overthinking is quite frustrating and he is supposed to be struggling from mental illness/depression but I don't think it was written very well. Or it didn't seem serious enough because of the whole comical setting of the story.
