The heist was only the beginning. Can the Shadehunter recover the Soulsword before it's too late?
In the wake of a messy heist, Mathus is determined to continue his mission alone, but as he challenges dangers beyond anything he's faced before, he is forced to accept that he may need help.
The enemy is closing in on all sides, all while Faylen desperately tries to free her brother and Lynette navigates the complexities of both family and romantic ties. As Mathus' quest takes him from the war-torn streets of the Basin to the Monolith itself, he focuses on only one goal, the only thing that can save reaching the Soulsword before the Netherwalker does.
The Shadehunter's crew returns for this exciting sequel, along with a few new members!
The Shadehunter, contemplating how much he is willing to sacrifice to save the world.
The Con, struggling to live and love outside of a lie.
The Pickpocket, desperate to stay close to those she loves.
The Professor, realizing that he cannot avoid trouble forever.
The Spiritwielder, grudgingly accepting her role in the coming plan.
The Deathwarden, willing to give up everything she knows to help her childhood hero.
Racing enemies and fighting undeath, can this ragtag group of companions work together to defeat darkness, or will the powers of the nether prove too much for them?
Luke Beckstrand was born in California but raised most of his life in Utah. He loves the outdoors, dancing, and writing. He received his Bachelor's in Linguistics from Brigham Young University, and is now pursuing a Master's in the same subject. While writing is his passion and he loves working on his books, his family and friends are what is most important to him.
This book was a great continuation of the story, characters, and world introduced in the first Shadehunter book! I enjoyed spending more time with this great cast of characters as well as meeting some new ones! My favorite part of this book was the growth that our characters went through. The characters continued to be just as interesting as they were in the first book--Beckstrand gave them even more depth!
