Completely devoted MCs and a possessive and protective MMC with a literal touch her and die moral code. Enjoyed reading this one, especially since the MCs were both mature and reasonable even while I'm they were both in tight situations. The MMC was pretty unhinged in places and the FMC quietly reveled in it. I love that so much. They also understood each other very well.
This would have been a 5 star for me (5, not even 4) if there were more showing instead of telling (skipping important things just to paraphrase what happened later), and if some of the writing choices weren't odd in some places. Like the MMC suddenly talking to someone out loud while we got fake responses. It was odd at times.
Also feel like parts were left out to complete or even hint at the story for side characters. While not super important, the story was so ultra focused on the MCs that side characters were only part of the story when necessary to the plot. It made for a less...complete story in my eyes.
Also would have liked to see more zombies (or whatever they were), instead of them being in the background for most of the book.
No third act breakup. Older MCs. They're so fun together. Interested to see books about the twins at the end of the story. Also Grigorio 👀

For being in such a depressing environment (zombie apocalypse), there was so much romance in this book.
The FMC and MMC's relationship was so well built from colleagues to friends to lovers. I just loved their relationship. They were funny, cute, sweet and spicy. The MMC did NOT play about her and would do anything to protect and take care of her. With the MMC's terrible childhood, it really made you happy for his character to fall in love and be loved finally.

I had been impatiently waiting for this release !! Boy was it worth the wait !! I read it in under 24 hours , now I’m going back to read it all over again 😊 Ms walker is my favourite author and she just getting better , this is an incredible read

Absolutely So Fantastic
Oh my this story is Epic oh what am I talking about this series will easily steal your heart. It's a powerful combination of secrets and excitement that's so full suspense and romance plus humor. It's quite unique it will put a smile to your face with lots of emotions. The characters are awesome and their romance burns up the pages with their chemistry. Larke is feisty beautiful and smart woman who is independent which will make you cheer for her. This story will not only give you a pleasurable experience it will have you laughing from beginning to end. Dez is a ex special forces who is hired to protect Larke. This story is full of humor, excitement and is so binge worthy. Each one of the characters will make you turn every page until the end. I really enjoyed these characters they are so amazing and great together. When you add in the drama along with tons of emotions plus some intriguing twists and turns then you have a story that's full of feelings and so awesome. The Dez and Lark aren't searching for love, but their chemistry is so awesome that it turns into one. Even though some of the world is in choas and their life is trying to find some normalcy and their bond makes them strong. These relationships has some unlikely romance and heartache but it all works out for good! Even the secondary characters are so extraordinary which will make you enjoy this story. It's truly delightful and amazing with it's vibe of violence and suspense. I Highly Recommend Reading it. This is a five stars story and the second awesome story in the series and I'm hoping it's not the last but if it is I know I will read these two over and over again!

Perfection!
There a few authors for me who can’t miss and K Alex Walker is definitely one of them! This universe had everything you need in an apocalypse book! A shady safe haven that is showing us how an event like this can bring out the worst in people. I will admit because of how well she wrote this I had to put the book down about 40% in. The conditions that Larke was in broke my heart and the way America is going right now it honestly hit to close to home. Once I got past that feeling I couldn’t put this down. Dez and Larke were both amazing but also real people. And I loved how Neal ended up being in the end because that’s how it must be for so many people. And the ending was everything! I cannot wait for the next book in this series though I guess you can’t rush perfection.

okay so SHE DID IT AGAIN
When I tell yall I’ve read EVERY. SINGLE. ONE. of her books and this series is SOO GOOD. It’s a prefect fresh direction from the usual romance books with such well fleshed out characters it’s easy to forget we KNOW some of these folks from her past works. The romance is always believable, genuine and HOT.
Spice level on these is a 3.5/5 for me and I’m okay with that because her writing is so captivating! Not stand alones but Ms. Walkers world building is so fantastic you’ll want to read them all once you get started. If you are into dystopian fantasy, mild horror (zombies), and hot alpha men who absolutely love the black women they’re with? Go ahead and read!

Dez is off the charts and I am loving every bit of it. Every woman needs a Dez in their life. The way he loves Larke is obsessive, out-of-this-world crazy, and I totally love it. They are the cutest couple.
I need to go back and reread their original love story.
I can't wait to see who's next. Is it Julian or Giorgio aka Beast.

I absolutely loved this book! Soooo much yearning and spice, I couldn’t get enough! Dez and Larke are the two main characters, they have great chemistry and playful banter throughout the book. The story takes place during/ after a zombie apocalypse. This is the second book in the series and I liked it better than the first book. I don’t wanna spoil it, just give it a

Saving for Later
This was good. Dez made it enchanting cause he started at onset She was it for him. Everything he did was to Woo her into forever. In the end it was all about families that were made up with true families and friends, making life together...better. I didn't give this story as much as I could have because there's so much more to learn.

I love these AU versions of the angels and assassins series so much!! I love reading these couple get together in a new way and it makes me want to reread their original stories. I can't wait for the next one!!

I LOVED this book. K. Alex Walker is a great writer. I love the dialog and actions of Dez and Larke. Not only did they get an HEA. I felt that I got one also. This is a 5-star read that I highly recommend

Thoroughly Enjoyable
There is absolutely nothing to dislike about this book. I loved Dez's and Larke's characters. I loved them in the original Angels and Assassins series and this was a beautiful bonus read. I hope for a Dystopian book 3 with Mo and G. K. Alex Walker, you rock!

Dez and Larke have a story to be told in this dystopian world that has gone to hell. In this world where an incurable virus is killing most of humanity Dez and Larke have to overcome many adversities in order to stay alive and to stay together. There are some twists and turns in the storyline but overall, I preferred the 1st book.
