2.75 ⭐️. CHECK TWs!! dark/horror/erotica. think of the film promising young woman but make it a 19yo college student with a hell of a lot more gore and blood 😬. ok hear me out - i understand why people have enjoyed this book i really do! it just wasn’t for me on this occasion, and that’s totally fine.
i think mainly because i didn’t like the FMC despite normally being obsessed with a stabby/violent FMC, Ashley was a little too pick me/i’m not like other girls for me. the parts where it was intended for her to come across as badass, kinda just made me cringe. the plot was definitely interesting and entertaining, i did figuring out the ‘plot twist’ early on (by chance i guess?) but i think the author did a good job of not making the twist too obvious and keeping people guessing!

I'm still in shock... what a crazy intense story. I was instantly sucked in and just about finished it in one sitting! I loved Ashley and her fiery character. The revenge plot was absolutely perfect, and the spice had no busy being that good! 🥵
I was 100% not expecting that ending, and I'm still trying to process it! For a short story, this packed a punch and will definitely be one that I think about for a long time!

What I LOVED and I mean truly loved - about this book was watching Ashley’s slow descent into madness unfold like a car crash in slow motion: horrifying, and inevitable. With every chapter, that flawless, all-American facade she wore began to crack and splinter until all that was left was a full blown psychopath hiding behind a blonde bombshell smile. Ashley wasn’t just a master manipulator, she basically held a fucking PhD in gaslighting, gatekeeping, and girl-bossing.
Bonus points to her for also punching cheerleaders in the face and kicking douchebags in the dick.
"Really? It’s a shame that I truly don’t give a fuck.” If this is the best he’s got for intimidation, then it’s a fail. Ten out of ten would not recommend.
The psychological warfare this book unleashed on my brain? Honestly, had me fucking SHOOKETH. I was fully deluded, blindsided, and spiritually slapped across the face by that ending... because NO, I did not see it coming, not even a little.

The reviews on this book lied to me. This was horrible. Absolutely horrible. Could have been so good, but was just full of bloody smut scenes, horrible grammar, and punctuation errors throughout. The lead is supposed to be from Ohio, why is she calling a trunk a boot? Nope. No thank you. 2 stars because the story itself had a lot of potential.

Before you read this book please read the trigger warnings! This book is an EROTIC HORROR not a dark romance, they are completely different.
That being said, I enjoyed reading this book. It’s very dark, gory, intense, spicy and even had some twists and that ending!! I also liked the main point of the story which is a friend getting revenge on people who hurt her best friend, which we can all relate to one way or another. Maybe not to the extent of what Ashley did but still 🤣
The only reason I didn’t give it 5 stars is due to the writing which hand a few mistakes.

I am obsessed with Ashley! I could tell just by the first 10 pages that I was going to DEVOUR this book in a day!
Ashley is nineteen and is our feisty FMC. She is on a mission to get revenge for her bestfriend Maisy who took her own life do to really harsh circumstances! And she is going to make the people responsible for it PAY WITH THEIR LIVES!
Ashley's first encounter with Nathan(38 years) is at the bar! OMG.. The things this man does to her! JESUS take the wheel! No need to tell me to hold on to the doorframe Professor Danvers.
She becomes his TA at Brown! And boy does he bend her over his desk and make come over and over again! Again JESUS TAKE THE WHEEL!
The spice in this book is spicing! Also there are alot of taboo spice in here so again check your TW this type of spice is not for everyone.
Ashley's plan is to get close and insert herself into the lives of those who hurt her bestfriend Maisy and contributed to her suicide. And boy does she get the revenge she craved for her bestfriend! ABSO-FUCKING-LUTELY she does!!!

What a ride! Our FMC is one badass, loved her. Her reasons for seeking revenge are commendable given the justice system let her down. Her no shits given attitude within the setting is brilliant and made me scoff a few times 🤣 There are some parts that are blood and gore, I guess you expect that with erotic horror so doesn’t come as a shocker, though I will say read the trigger warnings to be safe. The twist at the end was unexpected too 😉

Hooked the entire way through. There is some gore so definitely don’t go into it blind if you don’t like a horror movie. I didn’t guess the end, I was way off. But I feel the ending could have been a little bit longer. Overall though, I enjoyed this read a lot more than I expected to!

Ashley takes crap from no one! After finding out her friend unalived herself she’s out for blood and revenge. Finding all the people who caused her bff to take her own life, she takes matters into her own hands.
There are some plot twists, i had a feeling what was coming but i was still shocked nonetheless.
The mmc and fmc are hilarious from page one! Loved their dynamic and their innerlogue.
Definitely recommend if you like a quick, spicy horror with a plot.

the absolute chokehold this one has on me is so insane that i’m still staring up into the ceiling, in the dark, trying to take in what the actual living hell i just finished reading. this plot, the characters, the way it was written was so well done 👏🏼

Plot: 4/5 • Smut: 4.5/5 ——> Ooof. The curve ball at the end. I was really hoping we were going to actually have someone underneath the mask, but I digress. I wasn’t a fan of the epilogue, but it was obviously the nail (😉) on the head we needed.

This is definitely one of those books that grabs you in the opening chapter and holds on forever. Despite finishing it hours ago, I'm still reeling from the conclusions. Without spoilers, the end was, to me, unexpected, but so poetic and perfect 🥰

What the eff!! This book has me in a chokehold and I don’t think I’ll ever escape. It’s so raw and powerful and just all around amazing. How is this a debut novel. The writing was perfection.
I loved the fmc so much. She had a whole body positivity thing going on and owned everything she did. Girl was on a mission and wasn’t letting anyone stop her or bring her down.
Riggs gave just enough information throughout to have you completely hooked and wanting to know more. What I guessed for the ending was sooo wrong. And I did not see any of it coming. My jaw in the floor and I savored the last few pages because I didn’t want it to end.
I can’t wait to see what more is in store for this amazing author. I did not arc read this and I can still say this is the best book I’ve read all year as my honest review. I’ll probably be in a reading slump after this because how do you top it???

The only reason I didn't rate 1 star is because of the potential the story has. The author clearly did no research for this book. The amount of spelling and grammar errors makes me think Helen Keller edited this book. There are so many holes in the plot it's insane. As a native Rhode Islander, I feel like the author has never stepped a toe in this state or even did a simple google search. How are you going to write a book that takes place in America but use the term "petrol tank" instead of gas tank 🤣 She spells Maisey with and without the e throughout the book(which are both incorrect).... Also, there aren't fucking lockers in college😭This was written like it was supposed to take place in a highschool not an Ivy League university. The author doesn't know the difference between to and too which made me want to rip out my hair. I was tempted to edit the book myself in red pen and mail it to her. Such a good concept that could have been so much better if it was written by another author.

This book wasn't "good for a debut novel" it was just

. period. I've read so many thrillers this year that have just fallen flat, this one kept me on the edge of my seat until the very last word. As a dark romance girly who is terrified of erotic horror this is the perfect entry into the genre. idk if I could handle more gore honestly (at least as I'm warming up to the genre more).
Ashley my sweet sweet dear Ashley❤🩹 I would help you burn down the world for Maisy. I don't know how so much plot and spice can exist in such a short book, it's like when you go to Vegas for 3 days and it feels like 3 weeks lmfao. It also had a good bit of humor sprinkled in which I always love.

Ashley my sweet sweet dear Ashley❤🩹 I would help you burn down the world for Maisy. I don't know how so much plot and spice can exist in such a short book, it's like when you go to Vegas for 3 days and it feels like 3 weeks lmfao. It also had a good bit of humor sprinkled in which I always love.

Oop there it is, my limit.
This is definitely darker than dark romance.
I did like the first half of this book even if it was unhinged and completely messed up. I loved the revenge aspect of the FMCs plot but I really disliked the ending, I can see how it all ties itself together but I was really hoping the professor was secretly the stalker/murder.

Jumping into this one, I didn't have much expectations, so I was pleasantly surprised by how much I enjoyed it. Ashley was unhinged, but in a more subtle way. Nathan had a dark side that I certainly appreciated.
One issue I had was with the logic and inconsistencies in the writing that didn't fit the characters or the setting. Thankfully, the author didn't hold back when it came to the horror and erotic aspects of the story.
No, For An Answer is a story of vows and revenge. It would appeal to readers who enjoy morally corrupt characters.
