Sigurd wasn’t looking for his mate, but fate brought Jaime to his doorstep anyway.
Driven from his home by a stalker, Jaime took the refuge offered from Solston’s Paranormal Council. Suddenly, he has a new life—new city, new friends, and an infuriatingly gorgeous protector.
The only problem is Jaime’s not sure how he’s supposed to give Sigurd up once the threat has passed. And while Sigurd would do anything to keep Jaime safe, he doesn’t know how to ask for the one thing he truly wants…for Jaime to stay.
A Warlock Called Sigurd begins a new arc in the Mated to the Human series. For full enjoyment, the series is best read in order.
- Warlock/Human - Paranormal - Age Gap (A lot) - Fated Mates - Mystery - Stalker Vampire
This is can be read as a standalone but I would read in order to get a better understanding of the side characters and the world building. These are quick reads that always make you want more and for these to be longer, but alas, we get short nuggets of fun. At least you get to continue seeing the couples throughout the series to see how they've progressed from their initial matings. This time we have Sigurd, with secrets on top of secrets, and Jamie who is on the run from a crazy ex stalker vampire. Yes, these two only know each other for about 2 days before they decide to stay together but it's the insta-love mate bond type of read.
There's some new characters introduced that I will be looking forward to in the rest of the series.
Content Warnings (may contain spoilers): - Graphic sexual content between consenting adults - Explicit language - Magical violence - Mentions of death to loved one (past; off-page) - Attempted kidnapping (on-page)

The basic idea is good, but it was far too short. Sorry, almost 60 pages are just not enough for depth, character development or even feelings. The two have known each other for 1-2 days. I think the story would have worked better for me with 200 pages or more. I really don't want to be bitchy, but for the fact another story from this universe didn't come out last year (cancelled?) and this one was postponed by another month, I'm really disappointed with this result. Sorry not sorry. 🤷🏻♀️😅🤔
Goodness this story was not long enough. I need more, seriously 😐. Jamie is being stalked by a vampire who he dated for a short while. When Jamie ended it with the vampire Marcus, he wasn’t happy and that’s when he started to stalk Jamie. After the human police wouldn’t do anything Jamie ended up going to the Paranormal Counsel for help. The Counsel decided to send him to another location after they couldn’t find Marcus where he, Jamie, ended up meeting Sigurd. The Warlock had gotten a call for a meeting that night with his friend Lynette and off he went. He ended up becoming Jamie’s bodyguard/protector. The story is amazing as the ones before in this series. But alas, I only have one problem with this book, it simply wasn’t long enough. 😁 I give it a 5 star ⭐️ rating for storyline and great characters. 💜❤️
I love this series and have read the other books several times, I enjoy them. I was really looking forward to the next one but it was so short. I do wish there was a little more story there to enjoy. Sigurd is a great character but Jamie is not really filled out. Yes we know where he came from and what he is running from but there could be so much more to flesh out the story. Just wasn't up to the other three. Hopefully the next one will be better.
I love this series from Michelle Frost and I know they're not full novels, but I honestly felt short changed by this one. Just as it was getting started ... it finished. I think she writes great characters and her world building is good, but really, there was no story here. I want more, more, more. If this book wasn't enrolled in Amazon's Unlimited programme, I probably wouldn't have read it, but as this is a new story arc, hopefully there will be more in the next book. 3.5*
Decent story but if you haven’t read the prior books you feel like you’re starting in the middle of a book. The story was just starting to get interesting. Some loose ends are tied up . Then the book is just done.
Eu amo um short romance, mais fala série, essa série merece mais páginas, tem muita coisa gostosa que daria uma super mega leitura, se tiver mais páginas. Porém o curto e fofo e envolvente, faltou hot, mas fora foi muito bom.
This is a quick (30 minute) read within the Mated to the Human series which can be read as a standalone but is better if read in series order. Low angst and sets up the next episode in the series.
I liked this book. 3.5 stars for rating, 1.5 for spice. I liked the overall story. But it felt underdeveloped and too short, and the ending was rather abrupt.
