I won this from a Goodreads Giveaway. I had entered because I’ve been on the hunt for a paranormal romance that I love. While this wasn’t it for me, it might be for you! This is part of a longer series (which I will not be reading), so if you’re interested, check out the first book so you get more background to the world and beings hierarchy.

🎯 My Thoughts:
This is a cozy romance with stronger fantasy than paranormal elements, in my opinion. Since it's book 12 in the series, I also think starting from the beginning would have helped me better understand the world and its social dynamics. Ultimately, though, this one just wasn't the right fit for me.
It came down to a couple of things:
1. The writing style leaned a little too cutesy for my taste. The FMC says things like, "It cheeses me off." The series also feels very wholesome and clean overall, so if that's what you're looking for, I think you'll probably connect with it more than I did.
2. The romance lacked yearning/tension. While I love an “idiots to lovers” wherein one or both of the MCs don’t realize how much the other person likes them, this wasn’t exactly that. The romance came across as more transactional than I prefer. In short, it felt similar to someone saying “I like you, you like me, we’re meant to be together. end of.”
As always, my experience won't be everyone's. If these things don't bother you—or even sound appealing—I'd absolutely encourage you to give it a try. I genuinely hope it's a great fit for the readers it's written for.

Connie and Bill's story contains a lot of fumbling and misunderstanding on Connie's part. Maybe some on Bill's part too, but he has more of a handle on their relationship. Connie feels the need to help Bill find his mate while denying her feelings for him.
The emotional impact of the book is wonderful. i loved Connie's support system and her desire to do her job to the best of her ability. Her knack for relating to people is very sweet. Meanwhile, Bill is steady and determined to give Connie the space she needs to understand they are meant to be together. Their journey is full of ups and downs and very intriguing.
I almost gave this book 4 stars and would say it is 4.5 stars. There was one scene I found disturbing that involved a seance. While that is not my comfort zone, others may not object.

Thankfully, Connie has help from a particularly cool entity from the powers that be: Luna, the Moon.
This latest entry in the series doesn't disappoint. Connie is in for a big surprise and, as always, the path to happily ever after comes with unexpected twists and turns!

Beautiful, rich characters you care about as they work through the possibilities for love and relationship. Bask in the sounds, scents, and flavors that make New Orleans unique while following Connie as she pursues her dream of running a business finding that special relationship for other supers. She is very busy finding happiness for others. Will she allow herself to find love herself?

Fast, cute paranormal story
It’s a fast read - an interesting and entertaining paranormal romance, but the plot is predictable. A few kisses and some handholding, which was a great slow burn, but the characters frustrated me with their inability to see the obvious and communicate. I enjoyed the search for an omega subplot more than the employer/employee bits. It felt rushed in parts and I would have liked more of the interpersonal relationship development.

I loved Connie’s story! The characters are believable, even with the paranormal slant, and I feel like they could be my friends. I always feel uplifted after reading the books in this series! The women are strong and independent but also want connections. These are my thoughts after enjoying an early copy of the book.
