Toni Goode’s Whispers Series delivers an exhilarating blend of paranormal intrigue, heartfelt romance, and celestial adventure, culminating in its gripping sixth and final installment, Reckoning.

This finale masterfully weaves together the intricate threads laid out across the previous volumes, offering readers a satisfying and emotional conclusion.

At the heart of the story is Bree, a Cordovan witch whose memories of her passionate entanglement with the enigmatic vampire Finn have been magically suppressed—until she is thrust into the center of a sinister plot orchestrated by rogue supernaturals intent on reshaping the world. As Bree regains her memories, she's swept into a storm of conflicting emotions and a fiery love triangle, with both Finn and Steele battling for her heart amid the chaos of a looming vampire apocalypse.

Goode’s storytelling ascends to otherworldly heights with the heavenly realm playing a pivotal role in the earthly conflict. Olivia’s eternal love and Yoyo’s celestial mischief bring levity and warmth, balancing the high stakes with laughter and tears. These characters, both divine and mortal, unite in an unforgettable mission to save their world from destruction.

Reckoning is a fast-paced thrill ride packed with drama, romance, and supernatural flair. It stands as a triumphant closing chapter to a series that has captivated readers with its originality and emotional depth. Goode’s universe is one where angels meddle, vampires love fiercely, and witches hold the fate of worlds in their grasp—and Reckoning ensures it ends on the highest of notes.

We left Bree at the end of the fifth book living out her dream life in Montana, but loose ends and the resurgence of an ancient evil, Tabitha Cordova, dragged Bree right into the middle of a paranormal-human war with catastrophic consequences.
Cordova has created a new species, deathlier than any vampire or witch alone, and its’ spread is heading for pandemic proportions. Bree holds the key to ending this apocalypse and is desperate to uncover the truth to her ancient bloodline before it is too late for her to reverse the damage already in play. Discovering the truth has led to betrayal, deceit, and death; with lives hanging in the balance, love is in jeopardy, and two men are fighting for her fangs and claws exposed.
This is the sixth and final book in the Whispers series and concludes Bree and Finn’s journey. Toni Goode is an extraordinary writer and as I have mentioned in previous reviews, her books are action-packed, she softens the violent scenes with humor, and of course, there’s steamy romance. Her characters are-written with so much depth that it is difficult not to become attached. Although the storylines all conclude and the ending provided the reader with hope for humanity’s future, the ending seemed rushed to me, as I would have liked more details about the status of the world, and the surviving characters. However, my desire for more detail did not detract from the richness of the ending. I highly recommend this brilliantly written series.
