Every time Dex thinks he has this Portal thing figured out, he learns some new terrible fact about the impending apocalypse.
Despite not being a big fan of having a boss, Dex accepts an offer from the mysterious Sector Administrator to work as an agent of the Daemon System. On the upside, Dex gets lots of insider information for free. The downside is that things are even worse than he ever imagined.
The arrival of the Essence Wavefront will bring with it an endless invasion, and without a plan, Earth is doomed. The Beta Test was supposed to prepare humanity - give them a fighting chance. But most of the small group of chosen testers have died. Dex feels the weight of the world on their shoulders.
Dex hated group projects in school, but this job is too big for one person. He needs help. Good thing he knows a lot of quality, talented people. But how is he supposed to break the news of the approaching apocalypse? And get them to join this lethally dangerous beta test? Being able to regenerate lethal wounds in a day doesn’t work on painfully difficult social situations.
Gaining levels and powerful investments is great, and if that was all that was going on Dex would be a happy Autistic with a new hyper-focus. But if you add in a new job, people being interested in dating, and having to make phone calls to set up appointments, the upcoming apocalypse seems to fit right in.

Book two
This is probably the most politically correct book I've ever read. But it doesn't throw it in your face it's very well written and very gentle. By that I mean you've got your gay couples your cripples your mentally challenged It covers the entire spectrum They them's They them's he hers whatever's all done very gently. There's no throwing it in your face pounding their political beliefs or anything like that. It makes it very well worth reading.he
8/10 Even with the mistakes I found which will be posted on goodreads this is still 1 of the better series out there and it's highly entertaining.

Great sequel!
Only thing I would recommend double checking is the author/editor notes throught in the brackets. May need to be deleted.

A unique perspective
Well, not an entirely fresh view. It does have it own thing going for it. Can’t wait for the next book in the series.

What an incredible ending! Huge cliffhanger that did not see coming. Wow on amazing world building and location. Great character building!

This has a great system, great characters, and great action. Plus there’s an overarching plot line that is actually working.

Decent book with good pacing and good characters. Dex is growing well and fleshing out. The world building is fun as well

Good story and system
Both books were good reads and hope to see more soon. Liked the main character and looking forward to more interaction with the teams.
