this book is based on true events which I would recommend reading the triggers just in case you've been in a similar situation. but how the author has written this book & the sensitivity of the subject is fantastic (it is based on her friend's life events)
there's not a whole lot of plot about the motorbike club, more just about Blake's story with her abusive ex husband and how she's learning to live without him and trust Hunter.
Hunters story is touching aswell, how he deals with the loss of his daughter & being in Charlies life (Blake's daughter)
there is a little bit of spice but not an overwhelming amount.
"What even is my worth if I am not Craig's wife?" Blake
"she isn't mine - yet" Hunter

Within the first couple of pages, I felt I had written this book myself because a book has never mimicked my life like this one did. I have been through everything except the motorcycle club aspect. Down to the name of the abuser, Craig. My ex’s name is Craig, and my son was named after him before he became an abusive alcoholic, of course.
I want to start with the trigger warnings on this one. I don’t have triggers when reading, but this one made me question my sanity at the fact that I wanted to read it even more once I went through the list. The one statement that resonated with me the most was this one... “It’s a terrifying feeling, knowing that you are coming to the end of your life and no matter how hard you fight, you still aren’t strong enough to save yourself.” Blake is stuck in a long-term marriage with an alcoholic, abusive husband who makes her feel worthless every chance he gets. The abuse goes from verbal to mental to physical, but when he turns his anger toward their daughter, she knows that it’s now or never, and she must leave to get her daughter out of such a toxic situation. Blake is out and about one day, and a guy on a motorcycle, Hunter, runs into her car and then takes her hostage so that he can get away from the cops. He lets her go, but not before he is completely smitten by her. But more often than not, most abused women find themselves in the arms of a man much like the one they are running from. Will Hunter be the same man Craig was? I’m not going to spoil it for you, so you’ll have to snag this one to find out.
I would definitely 10/10 recommend this book to any and everyone.

Hunter's nickname for Blake make me chuckle every time - so cute! This was a bit of a hard read at some of the abusive spots with Blake's husband so make sure to read triggers at the start of the book. It was an emotional ride and I definitely cried.
I really enjoyed Sam as a side character and how she was with the kids. I wish there was more of her or maybe a book with her in the future. I'm curious about about her and Xavier.
I enjoyed watching the progression of the relationship with Blake and Hunter. Hunter's protectiveness over Blake and Charlie, and seeing how they in turn helped heal his heart a bit was just so sweet. Charlie gaining a dad that cares about her and will protect her was heart warming. I enjoyed and will definitely be reading more from this author

this was a beautiful story about 2 broken characters who eventually find family within each other. i was very intrigued by the sypnosis, and this definitely did not disappoint. both of these characters were written so well and i especially loved the dynamic between the two main characters. i’d definitely recommend reading this!!

Triggers and a dark and intense story about a mother who has been beaten down by emotional abuse and finally breaks free with the help of a dark and moody biker.
Great story, pretty intense. A sweet little girl and a couple that help each other become better.

I went into Mine Now completely blind: no blurb, no expectations, just vibes and honestly? That was kind of perfect for this book. It’s short, it’s quick, and it jumps in with both boots and says “trust me, babes.”

Domestic violence, sexual assault, kidnapping, guns, bullying, verbal abuse, fatphobia, morally grey MMC, breath play, age gap, daddy/princess kink, pierced privates, tattoos, motorbikes, drugs.
So yeah… if that list made you raise an eyebrow or smirk knowingly, you’ve been warned 😉
The story flowed pretty well overall, but I did wish it slowed down just a little. I wanted more description, give me faces, places, vibes. Let me live there instead of just passing through. The pacing sometimes felt rushed and a bit choppy, but never enough to make me want to DNF.
Where this book really shines is the depiction of domestic abuse. The way the FMC thinks, rationalises, doubts herself, and survives felt raw and uncomfortably real. From personal experience, that inner world was written with painful honesty, and I related far more than I expected to. As a domestic abuse survivor this is an incredibly raw read so please be aware. Going in blind caught me a little off guard with it but thankfully my ptsd isn't acting up at the moment so it was okay.
The spice? Not wild, not excessive, but definitely enough to add some tasty chemistry between the main characters. Personally, a lot of the kinks weren’t my thing (daddy/princess play, breath play, age gap), but that’s purely a preference issue. If morally grey, possessive, slightly unhinged men make your heart flutter then I can totally see this being your jam.
Overall, this was a solid above average read, just not quite for me. I enjoyed it, I don’t regret it, and I can absolutely see the appeal, especially for readers who love darker romance with messy feelings and morally questionable decisions.

This was an emotional, beautifully written read and it’s officially my favorite book of 2026. From the very beginning, it felt real. The way marital abuse was portrayed, especially with a child involved, was handled with so much care and authenticity. It hurt, it healed, and it mattered.
What I loved most was the MMC. He never pushed her, never rushed her healing, and gave her exactly what she needed: patience, safety, and unconditional love. And the way he loved her little girl just as fiercely? My heart. That alone made this book unforgettable.
The growth, the healing, the quiet moments mixed with raw emotion made this story hit so deeply. And that ending? Absolutely perfect. No notes. Just tears and a full heart.

Inspired by real experiences, it carries an emotional depth that feels incredibly genuine, and I’d strongly suggest checking the trigger warnings beforehand because some scenes surrounding Blake’s abusive ex-husband are deeply intense and emotionally heavy. The author handled those themes with so much care and authenticity, which made Blake’s healing journey feel even more powerful.
While the motorcycle club element exists in the background, the heart of the book is truly Blake’s struggle to rebuild herself after years of trauma and fear. This book took me an emotional journey. It features a stronger-than-she-thinks Mama Bear heroine, her adorable five year daughter, and the gruff, grumpy and older VP of the Phantom Vipers MC who has a huge protective streak. A victim of abuse, Blake has been brainwashed to think she is unworthy and unlovable. Her daughter Charlie is the only bright spot in her life. Blake finally has enough of life with her abusive husband after he goes after their daughter. Determined to escape, Blake is almost in another accident with the same motorcyclist she encountered the day before. Hunter begins to berate her for her driving, only to notice her bruises and becomes determined to help her and her sweet little daughter Charlie find safety.
Both Blake and Hunter have some heavy baggage that weighs them down and makes moving forward difficult. He is still grieving the loss of his daughter, and she is dealing with major self-worth and trust issues that leave her teetering on the brink of returning to her abusive husband. Hunter does his best to show Blake and Charlie that they are safe with him and that he will protect them. From his safe house to MC clubhouse they gradually let down their guards and get to know each other. This morally-grey, alpha male biker shows Blake and her daughter that not all men are abusers and that their MC club is all about loyalty, brotherhood and family. They feel seen, heard and safe. Unfortunately, danger is on the horizon on multiple fronts, but together, with the club family for support, they can find a way through it.

I was so thankful that I got myself out and never looked back, and I was cheering for Black when she ran with their daughter when Craig's anger turned on Charlie.

I can't stress enough how much you need to read this book! Hands down in my top 5 favourite reads this year!!
Britt really out does herself with her writing, every book she's brought out has been fucking phenomenal they never fail to suck me in and bring me to my knees, pulling all the emotions you never think possible to be pulled at. And this book did just that there wasn't a dry eye in this house!!
I instantly fell in love with Blake, Charlie and hunter, perfect little family. I couldn't for the life off me out this book down until it was done, I was there with them every step of the way. Their journey was definitely emotional rollercoaster that had me on the edge of my damn seat.
It's packed with drama, spice, family, adventure, healing, trauma, suspense, heartbreak, survival and so much more. The characters where amazing. The storyline and plot where fantastic. Their slow burn chemistry to sizzling was great.
Blake and hunter meet when she's on the run with her daughter, he offers them a safe place to live.

Britt really out does herself with her writing, every book she's brought out has been fucking phenomenal they never fail to suck me in and bring me to my knees, pulling all the emotions you never think possible to be pulled at. And this book did just that there wasn't a dry eye in this house!!
I instantly fell in love with Blake, Charlie and hunter, perfect little family. I couldn't for the life off me out this book down until it was done, I was there with them every step of the way. Their journey was definitely emotional rollercoaster that had me on the edge of my damn seat.
It's packed with drama, spice, family, adventure, healing, trauma, suspense, heartbreak, survival and so much more. The characters where amazing. The storyline and plot where fantastic. Their slow burn chemistry to sizzling was great.

First, a woman nails his bike with her car. Then she almost hits him again the next day! After seeing her bruises and fear, he can't help but offer refuge to Blake and her daughter. The more he learns about her sacrifices, the more he feels the need to protect them. The life of an MC vice president isn't all sunshine and roses, but having Blake and Charlie waiting at home for him gives Hunter a reason to keep going. When Blake's past comes back for revenge, Hunter realizes he's all in with the fragile woman consuming his thoughts.

The potential for more was there but unfortunately this book fell flat, it was a short book, less than 250 pages but it took a while to get into the story and it could of been so much better, the storyline started of really well and without giving to much away, was married mum of a little girl has verbally abusive husband but doesn’t leave him; torn between whether she’s not doing something right or he’s just had a bad, later gets into a accident with a motor cycle guy, goes home and husband becomes physically abusive due to the accident and says she’s lying, she leaves with her daughter and nearly crashes into the same motorcycle guy. The story then begins to be very basic, with not really any twists or turns, something happens at the end which if I give it away will become a spoiler and its ends with a HEA.

This is by no means an easy read. There are triggers (check out the CW, it’s accurate) and the main subject, domestic abuse, is not a relaxing one. Abuse comes in many forms, as the book points out, and the book posits that verbal and emotional abuse and manipulation can be less physically damaging, but more harmful long term than physical violence. The heroine of this book is a victim of both and must learn to heal enough to be able to accept that she can be loved, and to love and trust in return. It’s lovely to see Blake recover. It’s a slow process, but with the support of new love Hunter and new friendships, she is able to find her inner self. Hunter is supportive and protective, while a little rough around the edges (wait until you read the bit about his special tattoo). He has his own issues, and caring for Blake and little Charlie helps him heal. I enjoyed this book.

Great Lazy Day Read
Mine Now by B. Shytle was definitely a 5 ⭐ read. I devoured this book in one sitting; It was a definite page turner. Blake, although she had a worthless and abusive husband, she was a strong resilient mom. She ran from her past, right into her future; literally. The chemistry between Blake and Hunter was evident from the start, and I wanted to see how their love unfolded. Hunter is the ultimate protective alpha male, who also has a soft side, especially for Blake and Charlie. He stepped up in a major way for them, that no one seems to ever had.
Mine Now is a definite emotional rollercoaster-- it will tear you apart and put you back together again. The slow build to healing, and putting their lives-- Blake, Charlie, as well as Hunter's was well worth the wait. The manner in which B. Shytle wrote out her characters, and events made me want to know what was going to happen next. The ending of the book was just perfect. If you love romance with high stakes, a protective, not overbearing hero, and a ton of heart, you need to read this book.
I look forward to teh nest book in the series.

I received this book as an ARC read from NetGalley. The MMC is all the red flags but at the same time all the green flags needed to fall in love with. The FMC was in an abusive marriage and didn't really have anymore self-esteem left in her but she knew she had to do something to get her daughter out of that situation. Once the unavoidable happened and her ex tried to hurt her and go after her daughter she knew she had to leave and not look back. I was hooked when she went to the MMC and she felt safe with him. How the MMC never tried to make her uncomfortable but reassure her and was really patient. The biker family rallied around her and was there for her and her daughter when the MMC had to leave on a ride and without thinking the other woman fought for her when her ex husband arrived wanting to take her back home. Honestly, this book gave me longing, yearning, love, slow burn, possessiveness and also the FMC started finding her footing in the biker family. Truly enjoyed this book!

The story is about 2 damaged hero’s who find each other in the worst, darkest moments of their lives. A single mom, her daughter, & an older biker come to form a found family. This was a very quick and easy read; I read it in one setting.
At the beginning of the book, the author wasn’t using contractions, which kind of took me out of the story as it changed the flow while reading. As the book goes on, they start using contractions, so it gets a lot better. The book is very cute, although it reads a bit like a Wattpad story.
I got very invested near the end and wish the story would’ve gone on longer to explore more on the club’s rivals and the chemistry between the 2 main characters.

Mine Now by B. Shytle is my intro into biker gang romance, and I am happy to have joined the club! This story does deal with an abusive husband, death, gang violence, and lots of emotional and deeply dark conversations. I felt the conversations were done really well and I am glad hard topics were explored on the page. If you like yearning, this book 100% has it! Also, the happy ending brought me so much joy!
Why I docked 2 stars: I felt there was a lot of emphasis on character development and less on the overall setting, and I felt there were many plot points that were very important and were just rushed through in the matter of a chapter, which is about 5 pages for this book. I really wish they were hashed out more and more in depth. The writing was very, very easy to read, but it did feel juvenile. It just came across as more of a rough draft to me, great bones, but needed more depth.

This was a really great story. PLEASE read the trigger warnings and proceed with caution. The first part of this story is very heavy DV.
I am so glad that Blake is finally able to find someone who truly loves her and makes her feel safe. And it's all out of sheer coincidence lol. And Hunter! Lord did that man need someone to save him. Suffering for six years like he had... The poor man.
I am confused as to how they "took care " of Craig. Did he have no one who questioned where he went? Or his job? Just... Gone.
Little Charlie was already suffering from the abuse her mother was going through, but didn't seem to have had it directed towards her. Instincts had already taken over at 5 years old. Poor baby. But Hunter was able to "fill" the role of a father, right from the get go. He showed her love and compassion; understanding and patience, that her own father had not shown her.
I do hope we get to read more of Blake, Charlie and Hunter's story in the future.

Check the trigger warning before reading. It has a bunch of domestic violence throughout the book, but many go though this everyday so it is also eye opening. I could not put this book down and read the entire book in a little over 4 hours. My house cleaning was neglected but sorry, not sorry!!!
Blake is a VERY beautiful and strong woman, although she doesn't see this until Hunter enters her life. She goes through all the DV for her daughter, because she thinks its best for Charlie to have both parents in her life. Charlie is also affected from the DV her mom endured. Hunter comes into Blake's life just when she needs to be "saved" from Craig, her abusive husband. Hunter is in a sad place when they first meet. He lost his daughter 6 years before and still heavily grieving his daughter Moo. Hunter is also a VP of a motorcycle "gang", but he isn't your typical member. He is sweet, caring and protective of Blake and Charlie from the day they met.

This story sucked me right in from the beginning. Blake is married to Craig who she's been with since she was 16 and has a daughter with. Craig is abusive, but not physically, mostly mentally until one day he snaps. As Blake flees, she literally crashes into a man named Hunter. At first, I didn't like Hunter. With the whole intro scene with him, he came off scary and aggressive with Blake, even though he was soft and sweet with Charlie. But as the story went on, I fell more and more in love with Hunter and started to dislike Blake. I feel like their connection wasn't really that strong, she sort of just went along with the next man that entered her life because of what she went through with Craig. And then when the romance did start between them, it felt a little rushed. There wasn't much build up. I loved the way the story ended though. Once again, Hunter was an absolute sweetheart. He deserves all the happiness.

Reading 'Mine Now' was like having a conversation with someone who really gets it. It's not flashy, just honest. You see Blake trying to piece herself back together after a rough time, and it feels like watching someone you know. She's dealing with doubts and fears that a lot of people carry, the kind that nag at you when you're alone. You can see her trying to navigate each day, each interaction, and it is very relatable. The small moments where she questions herself, where she feels like she's taking one step forward and two steps back, they feel so real. It’s like watching someone learn to trust their own instincts again.
Hunter, he's got his own load to carry. He's not some perfect hero, he's just a guy trying to deal with loss, trying to find some kind of peace. He's got his own struggles, his own internal battles, which make him feel real. The way he and Blake find common ground is gradual, a bit awkward, but genuine. It's like watching two people slowly find their way to each other, navigating their own baggage. You see the hesitancy in their interactions, the fear of getting hurt again, but also the pull that draws them together. There’s also Blake’s daughter, Charlie, and how Hunter connects with her, which is a nice touch. That last scene is indescribable and I was invested tears. Wonderful story

The motorcycle grumpy main male character and the self-conscience abused female male character took me on a ride, literally. I personally would call this a fast pace romance novel. I didn’t want to put this book down. I wanted to know what comes next and I even want more. I wish there was more relationship growth between the two in the middle of her leaving her abusive husband and going into a relationship with the biker, like just to slow it down and have her worshipped like she deserves more. However, that’s just personal experience. I would call the spice level a 2. There are some scenes but they end a bit quick. This is my second read from this author and I believe I am now understand her writing style.
I love it though and now I want a book of Crash and Hunter without Craig. I want to see Charlie grow up. ):

One thing I really liked about this book was the themes of domestic violence, which I thought were very well written (even regarding the female protagonist's thoughts and self-doubt). However, what failed was the story's development. Everything moved quickly, without much description, without much context, without much reason.
Hunter's character was incredible. I could feel every emotion from him, even though the first interaction with the female protagonist was strange.
Blake represents all women who have been victims of domestic violence, especially non-physical violence. The doubts that the person makes us have, thinking that no one will want to stay with us, that we are 'lucky' because that person wanted to stay with us.
And little Charlie. The most adorable child ever, with so much love and strength.

Great read! If you have domestic violence triggers this book may not be for you. Please read trigger warnings. This book covers the feelings of a survivors struggles she overcomes to realize she doesn’t have to stay in the only relationship she has ever known. She wants better for her daughter and for her to not be scarred by the abuse she has seen.
I loved the slow burn of the relationship between Blake and Hunter. Hunter also has his own issue he is dealing with and trying to make Blake understand she can be loved and is beautiful. Hunter also shows such sweet attention to Charlie, Blake’s daughter, that just makes you melt for him as a biker man.
I enjoyed this book very much! Great job!!

Mine Now is a big rollercoaster of a ride. It's emotional, thought provoking and heartbreaking. BUT, it's also a beautiful, age gap story about survival, healing and moving on. It's about how great life can be when you're with the right person in spite of your past. Hunter and Blake are just what they each need to heal and together they show Charlie what a real family should be. Their journey is not without it's storms. Blake's ex can't seem to get the hint and then of course the normal things that come with the Club but together they've got it beat. Mine Now has so many topics that may be sensitive to some readers so make sure you check trigger warnings before you start reading this one. It's an absolute must read!

I received an ARC copy of this book. This book hit close to home and truly sheds light on the emotional side of abuse and what it does to your mental health. Hunter is exactly what Blake needed and who she deserves. He loves her and protects her along with doing and saying the things that prove to her she’s not worthless. Hunter gets his second chance at love and being a dad…and a Daddy…hubba hubba. He’s hot as sin and pierced. Who doesn’t love a pierced, rugged, tattooed, buff biker guy who will fight for you? That’s Hunter! The chemistry these two have is off the charts and the heat in the bedroom…melts the paint off the walls. 100% recommend this one. Read the TWs as the abuse in this is real and Hunter has past trauma also.
