The air is thick with sex, smoke, and opportunity and Cassidy just stepped off the bus into the middle of it.
She came to L.A. to start a new life, not to stumble into an underground monster porn studio run by a demon who loves to make deals. But when a party leads her to Moonlight Magic Studios, Cassidy finds herself face to face with Johnny Howler, the cocky werewolf porn super star with a bad attitude.
Now she is his assistant, tasked with making sure he's on set, on time, and stay s out of trouble.
Let the show begin.

Set in 1976, Cassidy moves to Hollywood with the dream of becoming a movie director. After arriving she meets an eccentric neighbor who whisks her away to a party her first night in Hollywood. While there she’s lets loose and meets a bunch of people.
Waking up the morning after she finds a number for a job, she goes to an interview. She is hired immediately as the assistant to a very cocky and out of control werewolf porn star. Her job is to keep him in line and make sure he doesn’t mess up. Her shock that monsters are real is something I think we could all relate to.
Johnny Howler is someone who doesn’t like being told what to do. Especially by some random sassy woman whose smell is hypnotizing for him. He scoffs at the idea of this woman being able to keep him in line but will she be much more than a babysitter to him? Will Cassidy fall for the rude crazy werewolf?
This book was FANTASTIC!!! I’m in love with this authors writing. This book made me laugh, cry, talk to myself and holler. I will be reading every book she’s ever written including the second book in this series!
I found myself chucking a lot at this book. At first glance, the premise of accidentally taking a job at a porn studio in the 70s is hilarious on its face. The fact that that adult studio is making secret monster porn is even more comical. All of the era references help to bring the story to life.
This book has many tropes: enemies to lovers, fated mates, big city/ small town, and a few monsters to boot. I can't wait to see the next installment. This short novel does bring the 🌶, it does take place multiple porn shoots. If you enjoy monster romance and want a quick and funny story, this is for you. Johnny Howler and Cassidy will have you laughing.
Having the setting set in the 70s in California was super creative. Werewolf shifter, a small town girl trying to put her foot through the door of the film industry, spicy studio, and a mix of side characters, who wouldn’t want that!
Cassidy doesn’t let Johnny push her away and Johnny is impressed by her witty comments and never backing down.
I received this book as an ARC reader and I had a time. There were moments I laughed, smiled and had my heart clench. Its a quick read but the progression feels paced well.
I did wish it was longer and the world was explored more, but still a great story. Highly recommend.
Howl for me: Moonlight Magic Studio Series 🐺 out 8th August
When I got the email with this ARC I couldn’t believe it! One of my fav authors with a brand new genre & I’m able to read it now, someone pinch me 🤏🏼 and OMG I did not expect to love this as much as I did 😮
Cassidy has come to LA for a fresh start, dreaming of becoming a director & making a life she can be proud of. She’s happy in her new run down apartment, it’s all hers. This new adventure is going to be everything 👏🏼
She meets Lori, the most beautiful eccentric woman that instantly takes her under her wing. They go on a night out together & Cassidy feels like she’s going to fit in just fine. Everything just seems so great! She’s even offered a job opportunity & asked to come in for an interview & it’s only her first full day in Hollywood! How exciting….
This is where she meets Johnny, a handsome, chauvinistic, irritating “man”. She doesn’t know what she’s got herself into but something isn’t “normal” about this whole set up! Her eyes are opened & she realises she’s been dragged into a niche underground monsterp0rn business! Once you know about it, there’s no way out of it…
She begrudgingly accepts the role of Johnnys assistant & it’s the start of something crazy, something she’d never seen or heard of before…but maybe this life kinda is for her, Johnny is super hot after all, especially in his wolf form…
I LOVED every single thing about this! I’m not a romance girlie but monster romance…erm sign me up every time! It just felt so comforting, I found myself smiling so much through it like the witty come backs from Cass & Johnnys inability to restrain his thoughts 👌🏻It was just perfection 👏🏼
It also got a little hot and heavy 😏 but not like continuous in your face, it was done brilliantly. I cannot praise this enough! Thank you so so much Millie for the ARC, I’m so excited to see what’s next in the series 👏🏼
Out 8th August, Makesure to get those pre-orders in! I’m definitely ordering myself a copy! ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
Okay, y’all. This was technically my first monster romance. I wasn’t exactly sure if I would vibe with it, especially having a werewolf as the MMC. I have dogs, and the whole knotting aspect was…cringey. 😬 And to have it set in the 70’s, all I pictured was gnarly chest hair sticking out of silky shirts.
“Howl For Me”, however, was anything BUT cringey. It was extremely entertaining, I was cackling. Not laughing or giggling while kicking my feet, but straight witch-like CACKLING! There may or may not have also been some tears shed towards the ending, but that’s aside from the point. 😅 Don’t get me started on the yearning, oh this man knows how to grovel. He would climb mountains and die on them for this woman.
Although I’m definitely into smutty books, I did appreciate that the scenes being filmed in the p0rn studio weren’t drawn out and exaggerated. The “fountain” scene was HILARIOUS and his dramatic self-care routine afterwards definitely fed into my cackling.
Overall, this story was a very quick read-could easily be read in one sitting which I would’ve done had work not gotten in my way! It’s hilarious and sweet, the perfect light read I didn’t know I needed! I’m looking forward to the next book in this series 😍
Thank you Millie Moon. I was given this book as an advance review copy for free, and I am leaving this honest review voluntarily.
As someone who grew up loving paranormal books (especially werewolves), I was super excited to be selected as an ARC reader for this. I put my phone on DND, grabbed a coffee, and dove in.
I was expecting “Kindle is on fire” levels of spice, and while what we got was hot, it wasn’t quite as intense as I’d hoped. Still, the scenes we did get were solid.
You can tell this is a debut book. The character development felt a bit undercooked, and it seemed like the author was trying to squeeze in too many kinks at once instead of focusing on a few and doing them really well. That said, the concept of supernaturals running an adult film studio was unique and fun, and I loved that twist on the usual tropes.
Overall, I enjoyed it! It didn’t blow me away, but it’s a fun, spicy read I’ll be recommending to fellow supernatural romance fans, especially werewolf lovers.
I received this as an arc and enjoyed this quick read about Cassidy and Johnny... tjw bantwr between tjese two was hilarious! 🤣 I loved the 70s atmosphere. The way some of the settings were vividly described, I could almost picture myself there! This is a monster/shifter romance, so make sure you check the trigger warnings before reading.
OMG didn’t think I was into the whole monster/human thing but here I am in love with this book. It was amazing in every single way. Small town girl and a werewolf, what more could you ask for? I highly recommend adding this to your tbr ASAP. Read the warning page before hand to make sure this is for you. -Monster erotica -Dark romantic elements -Vintage language -1970’s slang
SO STINKING CUTE! I’m a sucker for anything with a 70’s aesthetic and this hit all the right velvety spots. Johnny, our porno big bad wolf is so hot, I love fated mates. This makes me so excited to see this universe expand. Thank you for the ARC ✨💕
Cassidy is from a small town in Utah, fresh off the bus in LA looking to make it as a film director. But she’s got to start somewhere and ends up, quite by accident, stumbling in to the monster porn industry. Once there she is saddled as a personal assistant to the bad boy Johnny who needs a babysitter to fix his PR image. From the first time he smells her, he’s hooked but fights against his instincts to have her.
This was a fun, quick read. A slow burn with plenty of sexual tension. With a touch of “will they/wont they”. If drug use is a trigger, be aware.
I found myself chuckling at the banter between the two main characters. Cassidy’s tough as nails persona was refreshing, she wasn’t looking for someone to take care of her, but making her own path. Johnny’s character development was really amazing.
I do feel like when characters get introduced, especially at the beginning, it can fell very rushed. And for a monster studio, I wish we saw more of the other monsters that worked there.
Overall if you are looking for a short escape with a spunky FMC and a grumpy werewolf MMC in the Hollywood LA scene, this is for you!
This was a quick, fun read. Like another reviewer, I was actually surprised at the plot vs spice balance, but I still found myself wanting more. More tension, more Cassidy finding her own way, more drama.
The banter, the chemistry, and the cameras set, "Howl for me" apart from so many other books in the sub general of monster romance!
Cassidy is from a small town in Utah and moves to LA to follow her dream of becoming a director. Fresh eyed and determined she jumps at the first chance she gets for an interview. Expect, the job isn't what she expects. Moonlight Magic is an adult film studio that specializes in all things non-human. If that wasn't shocking enough, Cassidy agrees to become the assistant to one of moonlight's biggest Actors.
Johnny is not only a hot werewolf who's shifting form and feral performance on is bordering legendary but also a loose cannon. His act off set needs some major cleaning up. Hector, his Demon of a boss give Johnny an ultimatum. One more slip up and Hector will make good on their contract and pull his soul. Poor Cassidy is tasked with keeping Johnny straight. Which is much easier said than done.
The chemistry between Cassidy and Johnny is almost instant. She's got a mouth thats not afraid to use colorful language and he's got a personality more stubborn and a grease stain on a white shirt.
Howl for me had me chuckling and rolling my eyes right along side this dynamic duo. This is the first of Moon's work that I've had the pleasure of reading and I must say that I was pleasantly surprised. The idea of a monster romance set not only around an adult film studio but also set in the 70s seemed so novel that I couldn't resist wanting to read. I'm so glad I did! You won't be disappointed!
”I can act like this is nothing but a crush or a fling, if that makes it easier for you.”
GAWWWWD. I fully went into this book expecting some raunchy, passionate filled monster and human scenes. However, I didn’t expect to fall in love with the beast and somehow have my heart all gushy and super happy at the end.
I think this short read was the PERFECT mix even if the main characters had a slow burn until the end. There was so much yummy tension, witty banter, jealousy scenes and a monster man who checked all my flags 🤪. BIG and muscular? Check. Grumpy but has a soft spot for her? Check. Can’t breathe when she’s not around? Check. Can only focus on her and think about her? Check. Oh, and a BIG MASSIVE PE—??? CHECK CHECK CHECK!!!
As mentioned, it was a bit of a slow burn but I think this definitely built up the scene to when they finally did it that it was also really hot 😭. I love how both characters were able to get to know each other even though they were polar opposites. However, I especially enjoyed that they understood each other and could relate to wanting more out of life. The ending was super cute and a perfect wrap up to this story. Can’t wait for the next!!
Cassidy leaves her hometown to go to LA and make something of herself. Her mom wants her to settle down, get married, and have a family, but Cassidy has bigger plans. When she lands in LA, she needs to find a job and fast. A friend of hers gives her a number for a job with no description and Cassidy has no choice but to agree. When she gets there, she's met with lights, cameras, and a sexy werewolf.
Moonlight Magic Studios is an underground monster porn industry. It's run by Hector, a demon in the flesh. He has a special job for Cassidy. It's to be the assistant to his most popular star, Johnny. Johnny is the bad boy of the industry and he's also bound to Hector in a way that he owns Johnny. From the start, Cassidy and Johnny have tension, but that tension fades quickly when they both realize they want each other.
This was a delicious slow burn monster romance. I love the 70s setting! The clothes, the playlist, the banter, this has it all. The build up is excellent. I'm not one for slow burns but once we got to the climax, it was well worth it. Loved the characters and the cute ending, which I also don't typically enjoy. Moon's writing is excellent and I'm excited for the second installment coming soon! Monster smut lovers, you need this one!
Howl for Me Millie Moon ***ARC Review*** ***Release Date*** ✨August 28, 2025✨
~ Slow Burn ~ Enemies to Lovers ~ Fated Mates
✨✨” Just so you know… it’s you. Every time. It’s been you every single time.” ✨✨~ Johnny to Cassidy. Howl for Me - Millie Moon (Kindle Locations 1622-1623). Kindle Edition.
Cassidy, a small-town Utah native with ambitions to become a film director, experiences a wild first night in LA. She discovers an underground movie studio producing monster porn and, after clarifying she's not an actress, becomes assistant to Johnny Howler, a werewolf porn star.
As she works to clean up his image, Johnny takes notice of Cassidy, and things take an unexpected turn. Despite expecting a fast-paced narrative, I found a slow burn that exceeded my expectations.
This captivating read offers great banter, sexual tension, a sharp-witted female lead, and a grumpy werewolf lead character fighting his instincts. With its quick wit and charismatic couple, this book is a must-read.
Look for it on August 8, 2025, readers should note trigger warnings regarding recreational drug use and attempted sexual assault.
🎬✨ 1976. LA. A girl with big dreams... and one VERY unexpected job. 🐺💥 Cassidy leaves small-town Utah behind with one goal: to become a film director—something women definitely weren’t encouraged to do at the time. She was the only woman in her college communications program, constantly underestimated and pushed aside. But Cassidy? She’s not backing down. New to LA and desperate for work, a friend points her to a mysterious studio job. She shows up… and finds Moonlight Magic Studios — a Monster p0rn film set. Yep, real shifters. Enter Johnny Howler: a cocky, broody werewolf and the studio’s star actor. Cassidy wants out. Johnny’s intrigued. And when the sparks (and claws) start flying, we’re thrown into the best kind of chaos: a slow-burn enemies to lovers, will they/won’t they, workplace romance. Oh—and did we mention she’s his mate? 👀🔥 This one has it all: feminist grit, monster madness, retro Hollywood charm, and a swoony, fated-mates love story that bites your emotions in all the right ways. 🖤🎥 #MonsterRomance #FatedMates #EnemiesToLovers #RetroRomance #WerewolfReads #MoonlightMagicStudios #BookTokRecs #SpicyReads #BookLoverPost #ReadingRec
I did not know that by giving Millie Moon a second chance (I was not a fan of Labyrinth of Broken Vows) I would end up falling in love with a werewolf shapeshifter porn star and his small town assistant. But I did and now I am.
This was just such a fantastic, low-angst, cozy read for a historical paranormal romance. I say historical lightly because other than Cassidy's arrival to LA and the 1970's miasma that surrounds her. Beyond that, it really doesn't come into play other than I suppose to explain/excuse the abundance of cocaine use and the occasional mention of bell bottoms.
The chemistry between Cassidy and Johnny was just perfectly done. From the start there were sparks, although at the start it was less spicy and more pepper spray...ey? They just worked so well together even when Cassidy was calling Johnny a mutt and Johnny was determined to scare her off.
The pacing was great. The length of the book was perfect. The writing was really well done. I really just loved this and I'm so pleased that I didn't write Moon off.
Okay, I loved this book! The banter?!?!?! Omg I couldn’t get enough!😭 Millie Moon kept me hooked throughout the book. The yearning between Johnny and Cassidy?! Ughhhhhh I was floored. I couldn’t get enough!!! This was my first time reading a book by Millie and I will continue to do so! Johnny was such a butt head and I love that Cassidy could keep up and put him in his place. This was a very interesting read and I don’t regret it one bit. I love a werewolf shifter and this definitely scratches the itch❤️
The way Johnny was fighting his mate bond had me dying! He was struggling so bad. 💀 I laughed so much throughout the book and got a little emotional too. I think Millie did a great job with showing their internal feelings and I could related to a lot of it.
The side characters, Lori, Teddy, and Reggie were also fun to see. I’m hoping to get a little bit more of them👀 Maybe even Hector??? Is that wishful thinking? Idk but I would love to see Hector with someone 😅.
Opening Howl for Me feels like stepping straight into the 1970s, with a fun spin on the small-town-girl-in-the-big-city trope. When Cassidy steps off the bus in L.A., she knows grit and determination will be the only way to make it. But things take a wild turn when she accidentally accepts a job at Moonlight Magic Studios and finds herself assistant to adult film star Jonny Howler. And she knows she is really going to have to keep her wits about her to not be overwhelmed by Johnny's wild energy. From their first meeting is a disaster, setting the tone for a fiery and chaotic relationship. Still, beneath all the barbs and bad attitudes, a different kind of tension starts to simmer. It all comes to a head when Cassidy makes a selfless choice, forcing Jonny to finally listen to the wolf inside him, who’s known the truth all along. This was a fun read and highly recommend.
Cassidy left home and made the big move to LA, with no job and only her suitcase she needs to find a job fast. When meeting her neighbor Lori, she realizes that she needs to get out and see what LA has to offer. After a fun and long night out Cassidy has a lead for a job, little did she know that job was to be an assistant to Johnny one of Moonlight Magic’s Studios biggest star and biggest hazard.
This was such a good story oh my gosh i don’t even know how to begin! Johnny and Cassidy’s chemistry was just perfect, I loved their banter. All of the characters were fun and interesting! Definitely need love stories for all of the pornstar monsters now! Easily a five star read! Can’t wait to read more!!
Pull out your Bee Gees & KC & Sunshine albums, this Monster romance (9oRn) is set in 1976 Los Angeles California! Cassidy is from small town USA, Utah to be exact, & she just got off the bus in LA with a dream in her heart.
Johnny Howler is a werewolf shifter corn star with a reputation for being a giant pain in the bumm to work with, he’s always late, hung over, grouchy & flying.
Cass calls a random number that she finds in the pocket of the dress she wore out the night before and with that one phone call everything changes for both of them!
I loved The chemistry between Johnny & Cassidy! Their mutual pinning was to die for!! Especially since they both fight their growing feelings for each other!! Johnny doesn’t think he’s good enough for her because he’s a loser pornstar & Cassidy doesn’t think she’s glamorous or flashy enough for him to want.
I was cackling the whole way through! Cassidy & Johnny have some of the best banter I have ever read!
It’s a slow burn, but when they finally fall together it is freaking 🔥 🔥 🔥 and so worth the wait!!! I was howling at my book!!!
A werewolf romance set in the 70s and a studio that makes adult movies featuring monsters? Of course I had to read it!
When Cassidy decided to move to LA, she wasn’t expecting her life to change as much as it did in less than 48 hours. She made a new friend. Went to a party. Let loose… and woke up with no recollection of the night before. But someone had slipped her a card about a job opportunity, and she jumped on it. Little did she know she was about to start working in the adult film industry, babysitting one of its star actors, who just happens to be a werewolf.
On one hand, we have a feisty small town girl. On the other, a hot, stuck up werewolf who’s used to getting away with everything. And the banter between these two? Ridiculously good.
It was hard not to smile while reading this book, and the dual POV made the build up even more addictive. I couldn’t stop reading! These two keep pushing each other’s buttons, trying to see who’ll break first and it’s just so much fun.
So if you’re into love stories, spicy ones with monsters… monsters doing adult movies!? I mean, come on. No brainer. You need to read Howl for Me!
And the best part? This is just the beginning of the series!
If someone asked me one word to describe this book it would be “FUN”. This book was easy, playful, witty and downright engaging. The type of book you get comfy with and loose track of time and end of finishing it a day. I just ate up the banter. One thing I do wish we could have seen more during this read was the boss man himself; Hector. I wanna know what he is capable of, yet the mystery of him is top tier. I cannot wait to see what Reggie and Teddy’s story is going to be like and who they end up with. Such a twisted, beautiful way to be introduced to the author Millie Moon
The imagery and vibe of this book was so spot on. Accidentally taking a job at a monster porn studio. I thought it was really great. How being a woman in the 70s with ambition was portrayed accurately. Down to the struggles with college and the expectations of her parents. I think Johnnie coming off as the devil may care Studio sweetheart/bad boy was hiding the loss of luster in his life. And the Frankie Fountain scene had me in tears! I read this and under a day, I could not put it down. I adore these two characters, and I cannot wait for the next book in the series.
I really enjoyed this book so much. The banter between the characters is hilarious. The chemistry between them drove me crazy I literally wanted to pull my hair out. I just wanted them to kiss lol
But overall, this story is so well written the author did so wonderful bringing in the 70s aesthetic and I’m obsessed with this whole book and I cannot wait to read the next one!
I absolutely loved this book. This is the first time reading any works by this author. I am am hooked. Her writing style is easy to follow, and the characters are so easy to love. Cassidy is probably my favorite character in the book. She is such an easy person to love in this book. I highly recommend this author to everyone who loves shifters. Use caution with triggers. Loved it and can not wait for the next book.
If you're craving a book bursting with 70s Hollywood vibes, witty banter, a swoon-worthy werewolf shifter, sizzling spice, and a delightful mix of tropes, this is a must-add to your TBR! Millie Moon is shaping up to be an auto-buy author for me. Because, wow, WHAT DID YOU PUT IN THIS BOOK?! I was giggling, blushing, kicking my feet, and eagerly flipping pages, completely hooked from the start to end!
Holy Freshman Year Batman! This book went so hard it was so good. If you're looking for a dip into Monster Smut Romance books, this is the book. @authormilliemoon hit it out of the park on this one. Johnny and Cass really had a whirlwind of a story. All I can tell you is to go read it now that it has been released and get ready for the next book in October. I'll be counting down the days.
Cass was a sassy young lady with a filthy mouth and an even filthier new career. Having to babysit a werewolf adult film star was definitely not on her list of hopes and dreams when she moved to LA to start her career, but I digress.
This book was so cute, and watching the two of them fight their feelings for so long had me on the edge of my seat! I absolutely adored Johnny and Cass, and I cannot wait until book 2 comes out in October!!
