"It is so close to my heart given the work I did for all of my teaching career… I hope I had a fraction of the connection with students that Amara had with her kids." ARC Reader
Fifteen-year-old Harry is shoved into a car and taken to a suburban home against her will.
Inside is a life she has never structured, warm, and filled with boys who have walked the same hard roads she has. It’s the kind of place that makes you wonder what it would be like to stop running. To stop surviving in the shadows. To stop fighting. To belong.
But Harry isn’t sent there for a better life. Percy, the gangster she used to steal for, places her there with a plan—one Harry doesn’t understand at first, but soon learns could cost her everything.
Then there’s Amara, the strong-willed woman who runs the home. She might be the first adult who truly sees Harry, who fights for her without asking for anything in return. And that scares Harry more than anything.
With one foot in the life she’s building, the other trapped in the one she’s desperate to escape, Harry has to make a play her part in Percy’s plan, or risk everything for a future she isn’t sure could ever be hers.
Suspenseful and heartfelt, The Other Side of Nothing is a gripping story of survival, redemption, and the courage it takes to fight for the life you deserve.
This is beyond incredible. This book took a different turn on me. I did not expect this book to get to me that much but the ending did make me cry!
There is so much context that I don't even want to say because I don't want to spoil it for the others. This book to me is about growth. Seeing that even while the world shuns at you, there is always something on the other side. I truly connected with the character Amara. Amara because, she shows what I show when it comes to wanting to help people. A LOT! But at the same time, knows when it is time for that certain individual to make a choice because at the end of the day, the choice was never ours. L.B Anne gives us so much about Harry perspective on how she views the world and people around. This book is full of satisfactory, growth, and the never-ending struggles that we may faced. I also loved the deleted scenes! The ending was beautiful.
I definitely recommend this book ESPICALLY to the people who have struggled and may have forgotten what is on The Other Side Of Nothing. 5 stars all the way!
I had the honor of proofreading this book and I absolutely loved every minute of it!! Harry is so raw and real you just want to wrap her up in kindness and love. With great banter and heart, this book has it all! Everyone needs an Amara in their life!
If you have read any other L. B. Anne books, this one hits differently, but in the best possible way. Hands down a 5 star read!
