All's Faire in Love

Rate this book
Have you ever wondered what would happen if the magic of Renaissance Faires was real?

Mairead is an inn wench on a mission to reconnect with old friends and enjoy the nostalgia of returning home after a decade away. She is eager to enjoy the music of bagpipes and indulge in her favorite mead. But her day does not go as planned; the magic has a different plan for her. She ends up somewhere that she never expected, in a situation that is unbelievable but perhaps not unwelcome. She finds herself in a place (and time) she has dreamt of, seeing a man who is quite possibly the most attractive man she has ever seen (and the most vexing). And while she tries to stay detached, he charms her to no end.

Donnchadh MacLeod is a laird plagued by pains and sorrows until a beautiful but confusing lass steps out of the mists and into his life. She may not be who she seems, but she may be just what his bruised and battered heart, as well as his clan need. He strives to keep his wits about him and be the Chieftan his people need, but she is a distraction (a welcome one) he cannot afford and yet cannot ignore.

She starts to heal his heart while he heals her soul, but secrets and subterfuge threaten to rip them apart. Will the affection they are beginning to feel be enough to save them and the clan and result in an epic love? Or will her truth and outside forces rip them apart, destroy their budding feelings and doom the clan?

I read this in one afternoon. I couldn’t have put it down if I wanted to. My favorite fantasy genre: the one where men are kind and thoughtful. — Kristen Ashley

I nice light read for the summer. I do love the storyline. I felt like they fell into love a little too quickly but overall a very good story with good characters.
