“Often when I need to step back and reassess my priorities, I reach for Tozer.” —Erwin Lutzer

‘Experiencing the Presence of God’ by A.W. Tozer is a compelling devotional that invites believers into a deeper, daily communion with God. Compiled from Tozer’s powerful sermons and writings, the book reflects his signature blend of spiritual depth, poetic expression, and passionate pursuit of divine intimacy.
Drawing inspiration from Brother Lawrence’s The Practice of the Presence of God, Tozer emphasizes that experiencing God's presence is not reserved for a select few but is available to all who seek Him with sincerity and surrender. He explores how a lifestyle of worship, obedience, and inner transformation leads to a constant awareness of God’s nearness.
Tozer’s message is both timeless and it’s not enough to know about God—we must encounter Him personally and continually. With profound insight and a heartfelt tone, ‘Experiencing the Presence of God’ challenges readers to move beyond routine religion and into a Spirit-filled life marked by intimacy with the Creator. This book serves as a guide for anyone longing to walk closely with God and live in the fullness of His presence each day.

Aiden Wilson Tozer was an American evangelical pastor, speaker, writer, and editor. After coming to Christ at the age of seventeen, Tozer found his way into the Christian & Missionary Alliance denomination where he served for over forty years. In 1950, he was appointed by the denomination's General Council to be the editor of "The Alliance Witness" (now "Alliance Life").

Born into poverty in western Pennsylvania in 1897, Tozer died in May 1963 a self-educated man who had taught himself what he missed in high school and college due to his home situation. Though he wrote many books, two of them, "The Pursuit of God" and "The Knowledge of the Holy" are widely considered to be classics.

A.W. Tozer and his wife, Ada Cecelia Pfautz, had seven children, six boys and one girl.

Really enjoyed this book’s emphasis on the internal life. Tozer always feels like a pleasant marriage of theology and philosophy. This short book was a nice encouragement.
