A vacation turned into nightmare... It was a thrilling and fast-paced read, loved every bit of it. Romantic thriller full of suspense, paranormal elements and good character development. The writing was so good and flowy and I was hooked on the pages till the end. The exotic location of Capri is vividly described and I really loved it. The side characters add a layer of humour and I'm here for it. The twist in the ending was unpredictable and the last interaction between the leads broke my heart. It was so emotional and I felt so bad for both of them. Really loved this book and highly recommend it.
Thank you so much @swipethebook.pr @authorshraddhasahi for the ARC! ❤️
I have not expected such a beginning or such an ending, truly a reading experience. I loved it So much. The plot was not too heavy and it is not a typical suspense thriller/murder mystery it is soft and mild where we are reading the aftermath of the incident. This story is so unique and well written that i cannot stop reading it till the last page. One more thing impressed me a lot about the book is th introduciton of characters. I like how the characters were introduced as the story progressed and as and when required instead giving all the characters at once that could be overwhelming and create confusion.
The story build up and character arcs were well made. As this is a suspense thriller I dont want to give away to much about characters or story and ruin your fun reading. But believe me you will love this book. Though speculations and susupicions might have made "him" look like the culprit but you will be shocked when you know who does it. I am amazed at how one little thing can go wrong and ultimately it cost you your life.
I started the book with tears and ended it in tears, The last climax was such a tear jerker for me. it is so heart warming and yet breaks your heart at the same time. OH! did I tell you it has POV of the spirit. Well that's an other best thing about this book which I absolutely loved. I felt so bad reading how she felt worthless or not sufficient for her elder daughter, because of their difference in thinking and their version of "leading life". Overall this book is an emotional soulmate kinda lovestory which came to an abrupt ending because of one traggic incident while checking of her bucketlist of things.
Shraddha Sahi’s ‘Never Make a Bucket List’ is not quite what I was expecting when I picked it. Before starting the book, I was all set to read a mystery, but this is much more. What makes this book stand out in bookshelves full of mysteries is the care with which each character is written. This includes both central as well as peripheral characters. Sahi is a true artist in the way she paints scenes and draws the reader into them. I could almost smell Maria’s cooking and hear the twins laugh as they played football with Roberto.
The story has multiple layers. Of course, there is the incredible setting of Capri and the busload of Indian tourists, and then there are the backstories to our central characters. There is no judgment or criticism in the author’s narration, she tells it like she wants us to see it. For a while I kept wondering who I was going to be invested in, Pooja Sharma, the victim or Roberto Batliwala, the police inspector, given the task of figuring out which of the dozens of details in the case is pertinent.
The narrative is smooth flowing and the author does not allow the pace to slow down at any point. She adds a healthy dash of humour with incredible timing that even has the reader smiling with her. One cannot but help become emotionally invested in the characters as they go through the highs and lows that come from a sudden death.
Shraddha Sahi has an incredible way of letting the reader see a situation from a character’s eyes, even if she is going to make you change your mind in a few pages. She is undoubtedly adept at using the red herring, and with such flair. Highly recommended!
Apri – land of lemon blossoms, glamorous yachts, and the famed Blue Grotto. For Pooja Sharma, a shy romantic and wealthy wife, it was meant to be a fresh start—a dreamy Italian escape to rekindle her marriage and rediscover herself. But on the penultimate day, she vanishes overboard just as their boat leaves the Blue Grotto. Was it an accident, a cry for help… or something darker? A bankrupt husband, a sultry ex-lover, and a web of secrets now lie beneath the surface. As Inspector Roberto Batliwala investigates, one question remains—what really happened to Pooja Sharma? This book wrecked me in the best way. Set in the dreamy, sun-drenched beauty of Capri, it starts off like a vacation you wish you were on — lemon trees, boats, the perfect romantic escape. But then… things twist. Quietly, sharply. And suddenly you're pulled into this emotional, tangled mystery where everyone’s hiding something. What I loved most? The characters feel real. Messy, flawed, raw. I found myself aching for some of them, furious at others, and still unsure who to trust till the very last page. The writing is gorgeous — cinematic almost — and there’s this constant undercurrent of something's not right, even in the prettiest scenes. It’s not just a mystery. It’s about love, regret, and how the smallest choices can ripple into something massive. The kind of story that lingers with you even after you’ve closed the book. The ending was so emotional. Would 100% recommend — especially if you like your thrillers with a little heartbreak on the side.
First of all, thank you so much for letting me read and review this heartwarming and absolutely stunning book Shraddha and @swipethebookpr

A trip to Capri which started as a dreamy and magical affair and a hope for rekindling their relationship ends as a tragic event when Pooja Sharma gets drowned accidentally or maybe not so accidentally.
Pooja was a very simple and sweet character whose whole world revolved around her husband Ravi, since childhood. She loved him wholeheartedly and fought for him aginstbher parent's wishes and always stood by him. I liked how later in the story, Pooja realises her own identity and her self-worth even after her death.
I also loved the chemistry between Pooja and Ravi. The relationship between them was so wholesome and felt so real. I felt so bad for Ravi, when he was suffering so much and when he actually realised the importance of his wife in his life, and how much he was depended on her.
The different side characters also added a lot of humour and charm into the book starting from witty and half-Indian Inspector Roberto Batliwala , Dr. Andrisani, Narendra Gupta , Chandni and other families.
Also the ending of the book was so emotional, it truly broke my heart when Ravi and Pooja met for the last time and said their final goodbye.
Overall this was a great book, I literally couldn't put this book down, every chapter was filled with twists and turns. The twist at the end of the book will definitely shock you. The writing of the was simple yet powerful and very engaging. Highly recommend this book if you love reading emotional destination thrillers.
📚 ARC Review 💝 This book completely caught me by surprise in the best way. I picked it up out of curiosity and ended up getting pulled right into Pooja Sharma’s world. From the first few chapters, I could tell it would be an emotional journey.
She is a quiet, tender-hearted woman who has always put her husband and family before herself.💙 For once, she dares to dream a little dream just for her, a small getaway, something off her own bucket list. But life has other plans and everything changes after a sudden accident.
Was it just a tragic twist of fate or is there something darker hiding beneath the surface? That is what kept me flipping through the pages, completely hooked.🙂↔️
The author’s writing style is so EFFORTLESSLY beautiful and immersive. Every character felt vivid and real, each adding their own depth to the story. I especially loved how the book balanced so many emotions like love, pain, mystery, and that journey of rediscovering who you are outside of the roles life hands you 🕳
This truly is a roller coaster of emotions. I found myself tearing up in some moments and smiling in others. It is simple yet so powerful, a story about family, secrets, and finding yourself all over again.
If you are looking for a book that is going to pull at your heartstrings while keeping you on edge with a bit of suspense, I cannot recommend this one enough. 💖
Thank you to @authorshraddhasahi and @swipethebook.pr for the opportunity to read this amazing book!!🩵🩷
What starts as a dreamy getaway to Italy soon spirals into a chilling mystery in Never Make a Bucket List. Ravi and Pooja, a happily married couple from India, leave behind their daughters for what seems like a second honeymoon. But their romantic trip takes a devastating turn when Pooja tragically slips into the river during a boat ride… or so it seems.
The narrative takes off from there—was it a natural death, or was there more to the story? The suspense is gripping and keeps you guessing until the very end. I especially loved how Shraddha Sahi builds tension—each chapter added a new layer of mystery, making it impossible to put the book down.
Inspector Roberto Batliwala absolutely stole the show with his witty, well-written character. His cultural quirks and Indian perspective added both depth and humor. The supporting cast, including Chandni, Narendra Gupta, and other families, were just the right amount—memorable without overshadowing the main plot.
Ravi and Pooja’s chemistry was beautiful and heartfelt. Their love felt so real and relatable, which made the final chapter hit even harder. I won’t lie—I sobbed. It was emotionally heavy to read 🥹💔
If you enjoy destination thrillers with emotional depth and cultural flavor, this one’s for you. Definitely a 4-star read for me. Thank you, Shraddha Sahi, for this heart-wrenching yet gripping ride. 💔✨
If you’re looking for a romantic thriller that beautifully blends emotional depth with gripping suspense, Never Make a Bucket List is the perfect pick. Set against the stunning backdrop of Capri, the story pulls you right into its sunlit cliffs, sparkling waters, and hidden secrets.
What starts as a simple romantic getaway turns into something far more intense in Never Make a Bucket List. The story follows Pooja Sharma, a devoted wife and mother, whose trip with her husband Ravi unravels hidden tensions, making you wonder – was it an accident or something darker?
I loved how the author created such relatable characters – Pooja’s journey of love and self-discovery felt so real, and Ravi’s devotion added a bittersweet touch to the mystery. And Inspector Roberto Batliwala absolutely stole the show for me with his humor and cultural insight!
The pacing was fast, keeping me hooked till the last page, and the emotional moments were so powerful that I had tears in my eyes more than once. It’s not just a thriller; it’s a heartfelt exploration of relationships, love, and the truths we hide.
"Never Make A Bucket List" is an intricately woven novel by Shraddha Sahi. The novel begins with the ambiguous emotions of a girl, ultimately realising that she was dead.
Set in the magnificent location of Capri, Italy, the novel serves as a journey dreamt by Pooja, and her husband Ravi. The days which should be filled with joy, adventures, and happiness turned into grief, trauma, and pain when Pooja tragically dies during a trip to an island.
The novel follows the investigation, the suspicious actions of the fellow members who came for a vacation with the couple. But, what's the truth? Was it an accidental death? Or a pre-planned murder? A suicide? Or something hidden in the blue?
The investigation felt true –confusing, secrecy, and betrayal?–, Inspector Batliwala did a good job and we can't miss out doctor in dealing as well. The heartbreak of Ravi, the growing panic and irritation of the fellow members of the trip, the suspicions of the family, the suspicious actions of the trip members, everything was planned well leading to another level revelations in the climax.
Don't know if we should blame the main culprit! Maybe, you read and tell me about the actions of culprit! Author just did an amazing job with this book that even I would fear to visit any places from the next time remembering the title "Never Make a Bucket List".
Set against the dreamy backdrop of Capri, this sharp and gripping novel delivers a murder mystery that’s equal parts emotional and suspenseful. Pooja Sharma, a romantic at heart, wealthy, and devoted to her family, vanishes during a luxury boat trip, just as she’s beginning to reclaim her sense of self. What begins as a vacation quickly turns into a whodunit. Was it an accident? Suicide? Or something far more sinister? What follows is a gripping investigation that pulls the reader deep into the murky waters of personal secrets, buried resentments, and shifting identities. The narrative unfolds through the eyes of Inspector Roberto Batliwala and his frustration is palpable as he tries to keep a busload of Indian tourists from fleeing the scene while slowly peeling back the layers of truth. The plot reminded me of And Then There Were None by Agatha Christie. The tension is masterfully sustained, and just when you think you’ve cracked the case, the story tilts again. I found myself switching suspects every few chapters. Ravi, Pooja’s husband, takes up a lot of headspace as he should but the supporting characters are equally compelling. Everyone has something to hide, especially Chandni and her husband. The pacing is tight, and the writing keeps you guessing until the end. Thoroughly enjoyable.

The ending of the book was so emotional 😭 Pooja and Ravi’s last meet 😭. Loved them 🫶🏻You’ll get twists and turns from every chapter and you’ll keep guessing what exactly happened . I was trying to solve the mystery as i was continuing reading the book. The side characters played their roles very well, they added that humor which keeps you entertained. The Writing was simple and yet i couldn’t put the book down. Finished it in two days. Overall a very good read.

The story unfolds with a rich tapestry of emotions—love, grief, and mystery—woven into every chapter. Ravi and Pooja set off on a dream vacation to Italy, hoping for days filled with joy and adventure. But their idyllic journey takes a dark turn when Pooja tragically dies during a trip to Capri Island. Was it a tragic accident… or something far more sinister—homicide or suicide?
As the investigation unfolds, dark secrets and hidden histories come to light, revealing multiple perspectives and keeping me guessing until the very end. I was completely immersed—each twist made it impossible to put the book down. What I found most compelling was the way it explored human emotions under extraordinary pressure: the depth of Pooja’s love for Ravi from the moment they met, the heartbreak, and the emotional reactions that felt achingly real.
And then there’s Chandni—caught in a web of her own suffering and made to endure torment at the hands of her husband, Narendra Gupta. I found myself sympathizing deeply with her; the weight of her pain was palpable. Narendra’s character was infuriating—his cruelty felt so personal.
In short, the book’s emotional complexity, relentless mystery, and deep character portrayals left a lasting impression.

Everything was quite good about this book whether it was the storyline, The characters or the scenes. If you want to read a mystery book which is also fast-paced than you should definitely go for this one.
The story follows Pooja, a kind-hearted woman and a devoted wife and mother who loves her family and husband Ravi so much. Ravi and Pooja decide to take a trip to Capri. Surrounded by deep blue waters and breathtaking pine trees, Pooja really hopes to rekindle her marriage. But a boat trip on the Blue Grotto turns deadly and chaotic. Pooja is missing, and suspicion is on Ravi as his secrets are uncovered. Will Inspector Roberto Batliwala be able to solve what really happened?
I am a thriller girl, and this book has my heart from the moment I started reading it. It had me hooked like I was not even ready to put it down even for a second until it was over 😍😍 The writing is top-notch and the author really did a great job with balancing the suspense and emotional elements in the story. Italy is my favorite, and the way it was shown in the book was perrrrfect 💟 I don't wanna give any spoilers, so I'm not spilling much. The last chapter literally made me very emotional 😭🥰 in a good way.
I was struck by how differently the story opens, not a slow buildup, it throws you right into the tragedy. The story revolves around Pooja Sharma, a wife, homemaker and mother of 2 and a shy romantic person, who hopes to rediscover herself and rekindle her marriage in a romantic getaway in Capri, Italy. But everything turns upside down when the boat drowns and she disappears completely without a trace. The story includes themes of mystery, love, humor, memory, regret, and the depth of unspoken emotions. The writing has all the cultural details, character depth, and raw emotion with grace such that it’s both tender and haunting. I understood why it is titled "Never Make a Bucket List.” It’s not in a negative way. It’s a warning against delaying your happiness A quiet reminder to live now and live your dreams before they become regrets without waiting for the perfect time. Poojas story felt real. She could be someone I know or maybe the future version of myself. This book is ideal for readers who like bittersweet stories with a little twist and mystery.
What starts as a dreamy vacation in Capri slowly unfolds into something much darker, messier and unexpectedly heartbreaking.
Never Make a Bucket List took me by surprise. I went in expecting a light mystery set against the lemony breeze and blue waters of Italy, and instead I got a raw, layered story about love, trust, loss, and everything that simmers beneath the surface of a seemingly happy marriage.
Pooja Sharma’s disappearance is the heart of the story, but what really stayed with me was the emotion in her POV and how it revealed everything she was quietly carrying. Her need to feel seen, her quiet heartbreak, her love for her family, and her search for herself.
The twist? I didn’t see it coming. The ending? It broke me. That last interaction left a lump in my throat.
And honestly, Inspector Roberto Batliwala deserves his own spin-off (he brought both tension and charm).
The title Never Make a Bucket List hits so much harder once you’ve read the final page.
A deeply moving and beautifully written read. I’ll be thinking about this one for a while.
This book surprised me in the best, most heartbreaking way. It starts off super light and funny🥰 an Indian couple on a tour in Italy, living the best tourist life.(Sounds awesome, right? Haha) You think you’re getting a cute travel story and then...BAM(literally)....and everything changes, out of nowhere, the wife dies.🥲 From that point on, the story shifts into a deeply emotional exploration of grief, memory, and love. What really stood out is how real it all felt. The family drama, the flashbacks, the subtle humor.
This isn’t just a story about death. It’s about the small, ordinary moments you think don’t matter until they’re gone and they’re the only ones you replay over and over.🥹💓 It’s sad, yeah. But also full of warmth and a little funny in moments here and there.💖 Also, the setting? SOO PRETTY!! Capri is so vividly described, it feels like you’re there(Now I wanna go there😭).
If you like books that are character driven, emotional ,and a little bit ghostly😅 then definitely add this one to your list. ❤️

You'd assume it to be a romance book based on the title and the cover. But it's not!
'Never Make a Bucket List' is a destination thriller with a classic whodunit murder mystery. The novel also shows a few paranormal elements, like the povs of the dead victim.
The story follows Pooja, a housewife, on her vacation in Italy, where she is drowned. But is it as simple as that? Nope.
The mystery elements remain intense till the very end, keeping the readers hooked from the start. The beautiful descriptions of the Italian cities along with plentiful jokes from the detectives, were the ice breakers in the tension.
The pacing was a bit slow, but interesting none the less. What I loved the most about the book is that Pooja was given the chance of saying goodbye to her loved ones, thus providing closure to the ones left behind, the ones that would be forced to live without her from then on.
Also, I loved the wide range of vivid descriptions of the scenic beauty from Venice and Capri.
Concluding, this is something every thriller loving fan like me! Definitely recommended!
Pooja Sharma a very compassionate, loving, caring, down to earth person who always puts others first. Loves her family a lot. For a change she wants to do things for herself and plans to go on a vacation to Italy with her husband Ravi. On the vacation in Capri one day they go boating to see "The Blue Grotto"; Due to unknown circumstances the boat flips!! And she goes missing to be later found dead.
What happened to pooja? Was she murdered or was it just an accident??
The first half of the book was slow, The second half was good and fast-paced.
The investigation part was interesting with multiple people POV and they are well written. The love & bond between Pooja and Ravi was cute & sweet, it was very well depicted.
There were many twists that you wouldn't expect, The last chapters were emotional and made my tears roll down. It's a mysterious, love filled heart-wrenching and heart-warming story. Overall a good read.
Set against the beautiful backdrop of Italy, Never Make a Bucket List is a gripping murder mystery.
A group of travelers, each with their own story, sets out on a holiday adventure. One beautiful day, while en route to Capri, a boat is rocked by the waves, and a passenger—Pooja—disappears during the chaos. In spite of quick rescue attempts. It takes a day to find her body in the water, and sadly, it’s not the outcome her husband, Ravi, had hoped for.
The case is assigned to Robert Batliwala, an Italian-Indian detective—Italian at heart, Indian by name. With pressure rising to solve the case swiftly (since it threatens the town's tourism reputation), Robert must negotiate a vast, complicated mix of people, gathering statements and piecing together information.
When the autopsy confirms it was murder, the real chase begins. With twists, turns, backstories, and finger-pointing, the mystery keeps you engaged from start to finish.
The way Italy was described in such detail was one of my favorite parts of the book
This was such a good book. The storyline was very captivating, in the start We see the POV of Pooja, but that was a little confusing till you read the last line of the POV, and that was something which gave me goosebumps because she was d*ad now the book is all about how where and why she d*ed! Was it a natural cause or was there a serious conspiracy against her as the story moves on and as the cards unfolds in front of us, it will lead you to something which will make you think twice before believing someone. There are so many things so many people so many POV, but as the police inspector, does his job and the way he solves the case, it is mind blowing, and the reason of her d*ath was very sad. Also, I feel so sad for Ravi because he loved his wife so much and he had to lose her which Broke My heart, but their love was eternal, and I believe they'll find each other somewhere sometime.❤️🩹
The story starts with a dreamy trip to the beautiful island of Capri in Italy. Things take a sudden turn when a boat flips near the Blue Grotto and Pooja Sharma goes missing. From there, it turns into an emotional mystery. It is not just about what happened that day but about who Pooja really was. A woman dealing with pressure, mental health struggles, a difficult marriage, and hidden pain💔.
Personally, I felt the middle part was a bit slow . It didn’t grip me as much as I expected, but that’s just my point of view. Others might experience it differently, Inspector Roberto Batliwala’s investigation brought out unexpected truths🧐. The ending was emotional and I really felt for Pooja. Overall, the book was okay for me. Not amazing, but still enjoyable in parts.😊
What happens when a woman dies mysteriously in Italy while on vacation with her husband? Was it suicide, an accident… or murder?"
This book was unlike anything I've read so far this year. A mix of romantic thriller with hints of suspense and subtle humor, it pulled me in right from the beginning.
I truly enjoyed the suspense-building. The plot was engaging, and the writing style is easy to follow—perfect for beginners or anyone looking for a quick, gripping read.
The ending was well-executed. I don’t get emotional easily, but this one got me—it was disheartening and quietly powerful.
Overall, it’s a quick yet impactful read , Filled with diverse and layered characters, A story that stays with you.
🌟 lesson: “Life is unpredictable—make the best of it.”
This book took me on a roller coaster of emotions.
Pooja Sharma is a quiet, hopeless romantic, a doting wife to Ravi, and a mother who's always put her family first. This time, she wanted something just for herself, a little getaway. But things don't go quite as planned.
Everything was going perfectly but suddenly Pooja gets into an accident. What happened? Was it a tragic accident or Something even more twisted?
The book is written very well. I loved author's writing style. All the characters were chef's kiss, they added so much to the book.
The writing is simple and engaging, totally worth reading. This book is a roller coaster of love, loss, mystery, and rediscovery. I would highly recommend it.
This book was something which will make you experience different levels of emotions from crying to over whelming this was all I felt while reading this. From the first chapter till last it was so good that I couldn't stop myself to keep the book down. While reading the book you will feel that you know that this going to happen but something different happens. For me the there were few things which I absolutely loved. Firstly the love between Ravi and Pooja was so beautiful! Secondly both the father's care for their children be it Pooja's or Ravi's. Thirdly, was the last chapter it was my favourite from whole book I loved it and I felt it was necessary and I am happy that it happened. Reading this book and this type genre was something different for me. I truly enjoyed r this book.
The story begins with a trip to Capri in Italy. Things take a different turn when Pooja, the wife of Ravi, goes missing. From there, it turns into an emotional mystery.
Pooja is a very simple and sweet character whose world revolves around her husband, Ravi. She loved him since childhood, fought for him against her parents' wishes, and stood by him through everything. I love how she later realizes her self-worth, even after her death. I really loved their chemistry. I felt so bad for Ravi — he becomes restless and finally realizes the importance of Pooja in his life.
The ending was so emotional. I truly felt for Pooja. The author masterfully captures every emotion.
This was truly heartbreaking. If you love destination thrillers, you must give this one a try.
