This is the first book in the series and it is very good. The h is a very beautiful, curvy and shy young woman who is trying to find herself. Her best friend whose father is the H and a Bratva Boss took her to the night club where she had a one night stand with the H. They try to forget about that night but their chemistry was epic. She discovered who the was at her friend’s birthday party. Later she became pregnant, they marry and there’s turmoil and mistrust. Along the way they fall in love and have their HEA.Great epilogue.
This book sucked...not even a dog to give it a glimmer of redeeming value. Both main character were weak, no development at all. Well, Lukin got a glimpse of a personality in the last 20 pages. The fight/ gun scenes sucked, the sex scenes sucked, the angst sucked...just dumb My questions are where was the editor in this...severely lacking.. The time line was severely messed up. Btw...has the author ever been pregnant or given birth...hell has she ever had sex?! Shot a weapon?...I thought not! Case in point...." I want to f#@##@ck you hard but you're pregnant. ". Dude she isn't made a glass she's gunna pass a watermelon ...she's fine with some aggressive horizontal bop! I should have realized, when in the first 20 pages, Zoe goes to a club, connects glances with a hot older dude..he leads her to an empty room...no words yet! And then proceeds to have unprotected sex with this guy! Girlfriend, it ain't the 60's! This guy has been dipping into every tonya, daisy and Harriet...std much? Plus have you never watched an episode of law and order svu?! Don't waste your time..I kept readin, pretending it would get better...it was like watching a train wreck in slow motion!!
Zoe's allotments were sometimes really unnecessary and in the end they were completely unnecessary. Lukin got what he wanted anyway.
Although Zoe got on my nerves a little when she was unnecessarily withdrawn and cowardly. She wanted him, then didn't...but she definitely felt something for him from the beginning, so I didn't understand it somehow. I only started to like her in the last four chapters.
But Lukin, that was a different story. Very nice, I add. He was so full of energy but almost unused, which was an eternal shame. I would easily read the whole book just about him 🤭
Sometimes it was too fast-paced, mostly things that should have been given their time and vice versa. So I'm a little embarrassed about it. But I liked the writing style, it was readable and the plot wasn't terrible either. For me, a decent read.
