She came to sell jelly, not fall for a mountain man. But one spark changes everything.
My main goal is to sell my jellies at Wildwood Valley's weekend farmer's market.
Just a couple of problems with that. One, Wildwood Valley doesn't have a farmer's market. The innkeeper plans to set up a table in front of the pancake restaurant for me and only me.
Second problem? The hunky mountain man I'm supposed to marry is drop-dead gorgeous. I'm drawn to him in ways I'd never imagined. And suddenly, my thoughts of exiting town if things don't work out for my business are gone with the wind.
Suddenly, all I can think about is finding reasons to stay.
Mountain Man's Mail-Order Treat is an OTT age-gap romance featuring an alpha hero and V-card heroine. It's a forced proximity ex-military, lumberjack romance with lots of steam that's designed to be read in only 1 hour. If you like short, steamy instalove novellas, you’ll love the entire Seduction Summit Trails series!
It’s really good if you want a quick and steamy read and I really do mean quick! But honestly I love that about Lilah Hart’s books because when I need something short and quick to either keep me from falling into a slump or help get me out of one she delivers!
Jareth signs up for a mail order bride and he gets paired with Whitley who is so excited to be in this small mountain town and of course with Jareth but she keeps her excitement minimal at first because she doesn’t want to get hurt again.
This is a short and steamy read perfect for anyone wanting a super quick read with steam!!
I got an ARC through BookSprout but all thoughts are my own!

Jareth lives in Wildwood Valley and he wants a bride. He asked Bobbi to set him up. But when he picks up Whitley, his mail order bride he wonders if she’s already got one foot out the door. He’s hoping he can change her mind. This is book 3 in the series and it’s a great story. A quick read about an hour but great characters, well written, sweet and steamy and a great happy ending. She came for a fresh start. He wanted forever. Neither expected everything to change the moment they met.
When Whitley (h) steps off the plane with a raft of baggage, ready to pursue her dreams, Jareth knows his quiet mountain life is about to change. Signed up for a mail-order bride situation without his consent, he never planned on falling for a woman with one foot out the door and jam jars in the back of his truck. But once he lays eyes on her, there's no turning back.
Whitley is used to doing things on her own. Independent, driven, and fresh off a heartbreak, she’s got her guard up and a to-do list a mile long. Love wasn't supposed to be on it. But Jareth's steady presence, deep strength, and unflinching loyalty begin to chip away at her defenses. Their first night together isn't just about heat, it’s about trust, risk, and finally letting go.
As their connection deepens, dreams collide with doubt. She's building a business, he’s building a life. And in the middle of it all is a town that might be growing into something bigger than both of them. But when hearts are laid bare and futures hang in the balance, one truth remains: real love is messy, vulnerable, and worth everything.
Whitley evolves from a cautious, independent woman unsure about commitment into one who fully embraces love and vulnerability. Jareth begins as a solitary, guarded man but opens up emotionally and commits to building a future with Whitley. Their relationship grows from mutual attraction and curiosity into a deep bond rooted in honesty, shared goals, and commitment.
A steamy, age gap, instalove, mail order bride, mountain man, curvy girl, small town romance, exploring love, trust, new beginnings, vulnerability, commitment, healing from past relationships, and family. It's about showing up for love even when it’s scary, finding home in someone else, and choosing forever one day at a time.
Bobbi, the owner of the only lodging in the small town of Wildwood Valley, had signed up bachelors in the area for mail-order brides. The men just didn't know about it until after their bride had been selected. However, so far, she's been successful.
Jareth is her latest "victim." He's taken with Whitney Delaney, his bride-to-be, and is committed to their upcoming marriage. But on the way home from picking her up at the airport, she mentions that she's kept her lease open in case their match doesn't work and she needs to return home. What?
What he didn't know was that she had had her heart broken before. She'd given her heart to someone who not only wanted to rule her life but who dumped her when a super-skinny hottie got her claws into him. She can't let that happen again. Until she finally confessed, he didn't know that she's also a virgin.
She'd started her own business, the Berry Maiden, when she was only thirteen. She sells at festivals, farmers' markets, and anywhere she can on weekends. During the week she does deliveries, designs labels, and prepares new inventory. She's been so busy trying to build her business that she didn't have time to date. Now that she does have time to date, it is difficult to start because of her age.
They had discussed some of their things in common, like their love of the mountains, horror movies, and country music, but had never touched upon serious issues like their upbringing. He'd been raised by his aunt, who died shortly after he joined the military. She had been raised by her nana. Her mother had been a junkie even during her pregnancy.
Two of his military brothers, West and Reilly, met and married their wives due to Bobbi's matchmaking efforts. Will this match of hers be another success story, or will she have her first failure?

She came with jelly and left with a mountain man!!!
I devoured this sweet and spicy novella in one sitting—and let’s just say, Wildwood Valley might not have a real farmer’s market, but it definitely delivers the goods!
Whitley is quirky, hopeful, and just looking for a place to sell her homemade jellies… not expecting to fall hard for the lumberjack of her dreams. Jareth, the rugged, broody ex-military mountain man, was expecting a mail-order bride—but instead he gets a curvy, innocent treat who steals his heart from the first glance.
This story is the perfect storm of forced proximity, age-gap tension, and steamy instalove. There’s undeniable chemistry, a touch of humor (that pancake restaurant setup? Adorably oddball), and enough steam to fog up your eReader. And let’s not forget the alpha protector vibes—Jareth is the kind of man who makes you want to pack a bag and move to the mountains yesterday.
🫐 Sweet heroine with a jelly biz 🏔️ Grumpy, swoon-worthy mountain man 🔥 Quick heat, real heart 💘 Mail-order romance with a modern twist 🕒 1-hour spicy escape with a guaranteed HEA
If you love cozy small towns, spicy short reads, and possessive heroes who fall hard and fast, this book—and the whole Wildwood Valley Brides series—belongs in your weekend reading stack. I came for the jelly, stayed for the kisses, and finished with a happy sigh.

Jareth has been set up for a bride by Bobbi from the inn (who is she! why is she meddling!) and decides that he will meet Whitley for himself to see how things go. Bobbi promised that Whitley that there are a lot of opportunities in Wildwood Valley for her to grow her jam business - which turns out to be somewhat a stretch of the truth and oversell, but I liked how things turned out in the end. Jareth is taking things pretty chill but soon he realises that he's in really deep. Will they go through with the wedding?
I like how the story is told in dual POV, it helps to really get into the characters heads and feel so much more for each of them. This is a short and sweet story, and I really like the author's style. I can't wait to read what happens next!!. The stories are short which make them very easy to read, but not lacking in storyline or character development, and can be read under 1 hour each, and you can binge on ALL the stories with this box set because once you stop you don't really want to stop.

Love Really does Heal Broken Hearts - Jareth was overjoyed when he picked his bride at the airport, but their conversation during the ride back home made him question whether she was fully prepared to get married. However, everything changed once Jareth and Whitley arrived at his home and they spent time getting to know each other. Opening up about their pasts helped Jareth and Whitley make the decision about their relationship and their future, especially after she revealed a mind blowing secret, that made their pleasure-filled encounter, a lot more special.
After Whitley decided she wanted to stay and marry Jareth, he did everything possible to get her business up and running, so they could have a chance at an amazing future. This was is sweet, cheery romance story with a little bit of spice and a small town vibe. The story drew me in on the first page and kept my attention all the way through to the end. You will definitely enjoy reading this book just as much as I did.

"Mountain Man’s Mail Order Treat" is the third installment in the delightful Wildwood Valley Brides series! Word is out in town about what Bobby is up to at the Inn, and Jareth can hardly contain his excitement as he prepares to pick up his soon-to-be bride, Whitley, at the airport. Whitley is just as thrilled—she's ready to dive into her jam business at the local farmers' market!
As Jareth and Whitley spend time together, they begin to share stories about their pasts, and the connection between them grows stronger. With each moment, it becomes clear that their chemistry and attraction are undeniable. Before long, they can't resist their feelings any longer, and sparks begin to fly!

Lilah Hart delivers pure, indulgent romance in Mountain Man’s Mail Order Treat—a cozy, spicy, and downright swoony read that hits all the right notes for fans of rugged heroes and instant connection.
The story follows a gruff, no-nonsense mountain man who signs up for a mail-order bride... and gets way more than he bargained for. The heroine is sweet, sassy, and exactly the kind of sunshine to melt his icy exterior. Their chemistry is immediate, their connection deep, and the small cabin in the woods setting? Utterly perfect for a steamy, snowed-in romance.
Hart keeps things short and satisfying, with just enough drama to keep you hooked, but never too much to weigh down the feel-good vibes. It’s low-angst, high-heat, and full of heart—a guilty pleasure without the guilt.
If you love protective alpha males, fated-feeling romance, and happily-ever-afters wrapped in flannel, Mountain Man’s Mail Order Treat will absolutely deliver.

At the author’s request, I’m excited to share my thoughts on 'Mountain Man’s Mail Order Treat' without giving away too many spoilers!
Let me tell you, this charming little story brought such a huge smile to my face from start to finish, and it had just the right touch of spice!
The chemistry between Whitley and Jareth is absolutely amazing from the very beginning. I especially love how down-to-earth Whitley is; even though she dreams of building a life with Jareth, she stays true to herself and her own goals throughout the story, which is so empowering!
I zipped through this delightful short in under an hour and truly enjoyed Hart’s writing—it was compelling and engaging, with the perfect mix of sweetness and spice to brighten my tiring Monday evening.
I wholeheartedly recommend this delightful read to anyone looking for a quick and sweet escape with a wonderfully satisfying happy ending. It's definitely worth it! Happy reading!.

Mountain Man's Mail Order Treat is the third book in the Wildwood Valley Brides series. The story finds Jareth at the airport picking up his mail order bride, Whitley. He had found out what Bobbi at the Inn was doing, playing matchmaker, and he told her he wanted to find a bride but wanted to be involved. So Whitley and Jareth actually know about each other and have even seen a couple pictures. Whitley is sort of approaching the move and marriage as a business arrangement while Jareth is all in for love, marriage and family. There are sparks that fly between them and then when Whitley tells Jareth that she wants him to be her first over their dinner.....let's just say the drive to his cabin was as fast as he could drive. I quite loved this quick and sticky romance. The flip on the premise so far of the series was a nice change-up and made it more entertaining.
The innkeeper is at it again. This time it's Whitley as the next mail order bride to arrive in Wildwood Valley. They both are attracted to each other, but is it enough? On their way to his place, as they talked, Jareth begins to question Whitley’s reason to being there. She said her main goal is to sell her jelly and marrying Jareth is one way to start new. Once they arrive at his place, they talk about their past and Whitley sees him differently. After Whitley tells him something dear to her heart, sparks begin to fly. If things don’t work out, will Whitley leave or can Jareth convince her to stay and build a HEA? This was a cute story with wonderful chemistry between the characters. Highly recommend. Whitley didn’t come to this arranged marriage with stars in her eyes—just a battered heart and the lingering sting of being tossed aside for someone “better.” Burned by love and wary of promises, she walks into Jareth’s life prepared to guard her heart. But what she doesn’t expect is him—steadfast, grounded, and completely disinterested in playing games.
Jareth isn’t looking for a placeholder or a passing fancy. He sees Whitley’s scars, her hesitation, her quiet hope that maybe this time could be different—and he’s determined to prove she’s not a consolation prize. He wants a partner, a life built side by side, and love that doesn’t flinch when things get hard.

Jareth knew his bride was arriving at the airport but what he didn't expect was the 3 boxes of homemade jams for her business, Berry Maiden' to sell at the farmers market. What farmers market since Wildwood Valley didn't have one? He notices that she has a to-do list for the next few months; she started her 'jam business' when she was 13 being raised by her Nana, now decreased. She learnt that he had no family after losing the aunt who raised him. She even had tentative plans if he thought that she wasn't right for him. He wanted to show how right she is for him! She has another surprise for him while they're having burgers, what could it be? Read their story about the future, lots of fun.

I really enjoyed reading this. Whitley who came to Wildwood Valley for a marriage had arrived at the airport and Jareth who was Whitley’s soon to be husband picked her up. They both loaded her bags and three boxes into his truck. When they were driving home she said she was hungry for a cheeseburger. He told her he was going to take her to a fancy restaurant. Well cheeseburgers it was lol. Their conversation Jareth didn’t feel like she was in it for the long haul by what she was saying and the fact that she kept her apartment open. After eating they went to his cabin and once unpacked from the truck they had a conversation and… 🥰🥰🥰🥰🥰💜💜💜💜💜😊😊😊😊😊

My thoughts are coloured by the earlier books, and I was so happy to see that this time, the characters knew they were ‘planning to get married’. And then… imagine my surprise when the manipulator still managed to manipulate…. ugh…
Oh well… I went into this one enjoying it (because I wasn’t angry at Bobbi). This was really, really sweet and adorable in so many ways. A heroine who was open without being overt, a hero who was very sweet, capped off with a sweet HEA? Adorable - I found myself smiling (almost) all of the way through.

“I’m not the kind of man who touches a woman like you and lets her go.”
“Then touch me. Because I don’t want you to let me go.”
This quick read was great. A little different to the others in this series as Jareth knew all about this mail order bride coming whereas the others didn’t.
I loved how independent Whitley was, and yet was a little insecure when it came to Jareth. He is the perfect alpha man for her and I love that he’s fully into what she wants to do, and will do anything to help her fulfil her dreams.

Another sweet addition to this series. When Jareth arrives at the airport to pick up his mail order bride, he finds a beautiful woman with 3 years large suitcases and several large boxes. She a,es homemade jellies and jams and plans to have a booth at the farmers market in wildwood Valley the next day. Jareth just stares at her, because they have never had a farmers market in all the time he’s lived there. He was hoping they would spend the day getting to know each other before they married on Sunday. A sweet storyline and characters that are real and believable.

Whitney has come to town with high hopes and big dreams, but she is also cautious about being hurt. She wants to ensure her preserve business is a success, but she is about to find out that Jareth is the best partner she could want in all areas of her life.
Jareth has been looking forward to Whitney’s arrival, but he is concerned that she seems more focused on her business than the future they could have together. He isn’t about to be deterred as he shows her that she can have both the life and career she has always dreamed of.
The chemistry between them is intense as Whitney and Jareth show each other what has been missing in their lives.
Jareth might be a little new to town, but he was intrigued when he heard about this mountain man mail order bride match up site. It seemed to have great success. He brings Whitley to town on the premise of marriage. Whitley has taken the leap bringing her life, and her jam business with her.
I love the boldness Whitley expressing when wanting to take the leap...and with Jareth. She wants to build her business, and possibly her family. These two feel comfortable with each other, but really give into the newness of the their relationship.
You will love watching this bloom, her support in her making her business a success, and making the most of your life and love.
Jareth is a hot, lumberjack, mountain man ready to settle down, get married, and start a family, so he agrees to be a mail-order bridegroom. Bobbi, the local inn owner who is playing matchmaker, albeit with not quite so honest conditions, will do anything to help her town grow. Whitley is the commitment shy, sweet, virgin bride lured to town for Jareth. Whitley came to peddle her wares, jelly, to the townsfolk. A sweet and spicy story that is hard to put down. Hart has written another interesting and fun romance in the Seduction Summit universe.

““I came here on a whim, yeah. But I stayed because something in me said this place mattered. You mattered.”
Another win for Bobbi, while another Mountain Man meets his soulmate ♥️. All I can say is that Whitley is one impressive, independent businesswoman and Jareth is super sexy and supportive of his lady. One heck of a fun quick read series. Now, excuse me, I need to go make some jam 😉!!.

This was another quick and fun addition to the Wildwood Valley Brides Series of standalone short stories. This book focuses on Jareth & Whitley and unlike the previous couple books Jareth had requested to be set up. I enjoyed getting to know both characters and am curious to see who gets set up in the next book.

Mountain Man's Mail Order Treat is book three of the Wildwood Valley Brides Series.
Whitley has arrived in town to meet Jareth. She signed up for a mail order bride and arrives with thoughts of getting her jam business up and running. She tries to focus on that a lot because to her, it is a sure thing, while the marriage might not be. Jareth is a little taken aback when she mentions some things about possibly not staying in town and things like that. But they work through their concerns together and come out stronger.
-A fun, fast-paced treat in the Wildwood Valley Brides series. I received a free copy and am voluntarily sharing my honest thoughts. A sweet, steamy age-gap romance with a gruff ex-military hero and a hopeful heroine. Whitley wants a fresh start; Jareth wants a wife—and both get more than they bargained for. Forced proximity and jam-making meet genuine chemistry and a heartwarming ending. Bobbi does it again with her mail order bride scheme.
This is a sweet story about two people who start a bit awkwardly and have to talk some things out to clarify unclear thoughts. Jareth is excited to finally meet his mail-order bride, but when he picks up Whitley, she seems more concerned with her small business and how she will get it started. I love how they begin to open up to each other and understand how they feel. This is a sweet and steamy short read with a perfect HEA.
