Wildwood Valley Brides #1

Mountain Man's Mail Order Mix-Up

Rate this book
She came to marry a stranger, then fell for the wrong man. Now her fresh start might mean breaking one heart to follow another.

I'm in Wildwood Valley to get married.

I've never met my groom-to-be, but we've messaged for weeks. Mostly, I'm here out of desperation. I've lost my job and my parents. Starting fresh in a new town sounds like a good idea.

But when I head into the town's only diner to kill some time, I meet a man like no one I've ever met. He's tall and bulky and handsome...he's exactly what I'd expect one of the lumberjacks in this town to look like.

Problem is, he isn't my groom. And the more I get to know him, the more it sounds like calling off my wedding might be a good idea.

Mountain Man's Mail-Order Mix-Up is an OTT age-gap romance featuring an alpha hero and V-card heroine. It's a forced proximity ex-military, lumberjack romance with lots of steam that's designed to be read in only 1 hour. If you like short, steamy instalove novellas, you’ll love the entire Seduction Summit Trails series!

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ Small-Town Sizzle Meets Sweet Romance

I absolutely devoured this book! Mountain Man’s Mail Order Mix-Up is the perfect blend of swoony lumberjacks, unexpected chemistry, and a heroine trying to make a fresh start in the quirkiest little town.

Mackenzie’s journey is relatable—she’s lost, hurting, and hopeful for a second chance. Coming to Wildwood Valley to marry a stranger felt like a leap of faith… until fate (and one irresistible mountain man named West) had other plans.

West? Total dreamboat. Rugged, kind, and quietly intense. From the moment they meet in the diner, sparks fly—and I was hooked. Their chemistry is undeniable, and the emotional tension of falling for the “wrong” guy while still committed to someone else adds delicious drama without ever feeling overdone.

What I loved:
🌲 Grumpy-sunshine dynamic that melts your heart
💌 A mistaken-identity twist that actually works
🔥 Slow-burn tension with just the right payoff
🪓 All the small-town charm and mountain man goodness

If you’re a fan of sweet-but-steamy romance with a side of rugged charm and emotional growth, this book kicks off the Wildwood Valley Brides series in the best way possible. I can’t wait to see what happens next in this mountain town!.

Mackenzie is a mail order bride who is told that a mistake was made. Two brides are picked for one man. Not sure what to do she walks into the diner next door and meets West. Instalove for both. This is a very short read but it’s filled with love and it’s hot and steamy. Wonderful quick read.

Wrong guy… or exactly the right kind of trouble?

I devoured Mountain Man’s Mail Order Mix-up in one steamy sitting—and I regret nothing! Lilah Hart has once again delivered a swoon-worthy, small-town escape packed with heat, heart, and one delicious twist of fate.

Mackenzie shows up in Wildwood Valley expecting to marry a man she's only met through messages—but fate (and a fated stop at a diner) throws West, a brooding ex-military lumberjack with a quiet intensity and a whole lot of muscles, into her path. Cue the sparks. The tension. The “wait, what if I’m about to marry the wrong guy?” moments.

What unfolds is a perfectly bite-sized romance with:
❤️ A V-card heroine looking for a fresh start
💪 An alpha, grumpy mountain man who falls hard
🏡 Forced proximity and accidental entanglements
🔥 Plenty of steam to melt even the coldest Wildwood winter
💘 A guaranteed HEA that left me smiling (and fanning myself)

This is everything you want from an instalove novella: short, spicy, satisfying, and utterly addictive. If you're into age-gap romance, rugged heroes with soft spots, and stories where the “wrong” guy turns out to be just right, Mountain Man's Mail Order Mix-up is the cozy, spicy treat you need.

Highly recommend for your next one-hour romance fix. Bring snacks. You won’t want to get up.

Can she call dibs on someone else?

Mackenzie has arrived at the Wildwood Valley Inn to marry a man she's never met. She's a modern internet version of a mail-order bride. She's seen pictures of her groom, Reilly Clark, but she's never spoken directly to him, only exchanged messages.

She soon learns that Bobbi, the woman who runs the inn and the matchmaking business, goofed. One groom, Reilly, was matched with two women, Mackenzie and Bridget. Also, none of the grooms-to-be know they're about to become husbands.

West Kennedy returned home after leaving the Navy. His grandparents had opened The Soda Jerk next door to the inn when he was a baby. When they retired, his parents ran it until they inherited enough money to move away. His sister then took over until two weeks ago, when she went on a bachelorette party with friends, fell in love, and stayed. So now it's his turn to be in charge.

Mackenzie needs a drink! She has no job, no place to call home, and very little money. She's just been told she can call dibs on the groom since she arrived before Bridget. As she rushes outside, her choices for that drink are either the pancake restaurant or The Soda Jerk, which, from the outside, looks like a dive bar. She's surprised when inside it looks like a diner from the fifties. At least it does sell alcohol, and the owner isn't bad, either...

**Mix-Up Gone Right**

Mountain Man’s Mail Order Mix-Up is the first book in the new series Wildwood Valley Brides, and it’s an exciting start to this series. When Mackenzie signed up to be a mail-order bride, she assumed that her future husband had also signed up. However, she soon discovers that she was mistakenly ordered by someone else, and another bride is also on her way to meet the same man.

Feeling confused, Mackenzie decides to step outside for some fresh air and grab a bite to eat at a local diner. There, she meets West, the diner’s owner. West instantly feels a connection with Mackenzie and is determined not to let her leave without offering her a meal. As they spend time together, Mackenzie begins to rethink her situation regarding the mail-order bride arrangement, as her attraction to West and their chemistry grows.

Will Mackenzie succumb to her feelings for West, or will she go through with meeting her intended husband?

This sweet, short insta-love story is well-written, featuring characters that are easy to fall in love with. It includes moments of passion, no infidelity, a touch of drama, and is perfect for reading in one sitting. What more could you ask for? I can’t wait to read more in this new series and discover the next mail-order bride in Wildwood Valley!

One bride. One mix-up. One man she never saw coming.

Mackenzie (h) shows up in Wildwood Valley wearing a wedding dress, ready to marry a man she’s never even spoken to. A glitch in the bride-matching service means she isn’t the only woman arriving for the same groom. And those sweet texts? They didn’t come from him.

Stranded in a town she doesn’t know, Mackenzie wanders into a retro diner and meets West (H), a rugged ex-Navy cook holding it all together one day at a time. He’s not looking for love, but the pull between them is instant. Chemistry like this doesn’t ask for permission.

Their connection moves fast, rooted in honesty and a need neither of them can ignore. Mackenzie faces a choice between the man she thought she came for and the one who actually sees her. West knows what he wants, and he’s not letting her go.

Mackenzie grows from uncertain and uprooted to bold and self-assured. West softens without losing his strength, learning how to open up and let someone in. Together, they build something real, raw, and worth risking it all for.

A steamy age gap, instalove, mountain man, curvy girl, mail order bride, small town romance, exploring love, mistaken identity, second chances, belonging, starting over, self-discovery, fate vs choice, vulnerability, and trust.

Mackenzie has signed up to be a mail order bride because of her financial situation, and when she gets to the inn where she's supposed to meet her fiance, she finds that actually she's been "ordered" by someone who is trying to matchmake the supposed fiance. What a pickle! She decides to go next door for a drink and meets West. They spend some time together, and are incredibly attracted to each other, but she needs a place to stay and is "engaged" to someone already. How will they get themselves out of this conundrum, if at all?

This was a very short story that is (as is per the usual from the author!) well-written and easy to read. I couldn't put the story down and finished it in under an hour. It was cute, sweet, fun and entertaining, and steamy too. I have read quite a number of books and series from the author now, and was actually having second thoughts about picking this one up. But boy am I glad I did because she sure has a lot of interesting plots! As always, I recommend reading Ms Hart's books in a set because it's more interesting that way. I am really intrigued by this whole mail order thing now and can't wait to read the rest of the books.

Just a fantastic ebook you really don't want to miss. I loved it. Mckenzie has come to meet her groom having been matched on the Bride order site. Unfortunately she finds out she's been talking to an older woman trying to get the single men matched. Mckenzie and another bride were matched with the same groom to be. Mckenzie decdes to go to the diner for a drink when out behind the counter is the most gorgeous mountain man she's ever seen. She is so taken that she can't speak for a minute. West is is surprise by the gorgeous mail order bride meant for someone else. He feels the need to change that and keep Mckenzie for himself. Their connection is electric and their attraction is so intense. Will West and Mckenzie be ready to step into the next chapter together or will Mckenzie decide to marry the other groom? Can Mckenzie stay in West's life and can she find a new one with him that she wants more than anything? Does West convince Mckenzie that he's been hers since the moment he saw her and does he find a way for her to stay? This amazing author can add this super spicy passionate 5⭐️ hit to her to her long list of hits that I highly encourage you to get. You will be glad you did. You'll love it.

This is a new series of The Wildwood Valley Brides. MacKenzie dives head first into a new life in the mountains after having some huge losses in her life. She figures its her way to reset and try something. completely different. She had NO idea she never really talked with the man she was to marry, OR that two woman are coming for the same man.

She's onto plan b of figuring out if she can find a way to make it in the town. She goes into the diner next to the inn and meets West. West is back in town taking over the family diner for his sister than left, and is a little up to his ears in getting the business down to working and not losing money.

The connection from the go with these two is fast and intense. She is happy for the food, and even the offer for a place to stay and possible job. MacKenzie can't help herself from falling hard and fast for West. West knows more than anything he doesn't want this beauty to leave.

They are hot and heavy right in the booth of the restaurant, but it makes a lasting connection for a lifetime. Sometimes fate brings you the person who will make your life complete in a way you were expecting. A great HEA.

Mackenzie arrives at the hotel expecting to meet her fiancé—only to discover that he hasn't been the one emailing her and he doesn't even know she's here but also… he may already have another bride on the books. With shock and exhaustion colliding, she needs a moment to breathe and think. So she does what any confused woman in a white dress might do—she walks across the street to the nearest diner.

That’s where she meets West.

From the moment West lays eyes on Mackenzie, something shifts. She’s not just a beautiful woman in distress—she’s the one. And while her world may have just flipped upside down, West has no doubt that fate brought her to him. All he has to do now is prove he’s not another mistake—he’s the beginning of something real.

Imagine giving up everything and going on faith to meet your mail order husband, just to find out there was a mix up, and as you wait it out in the local diner, you meet the man of your dreams. That’s what happened to Mackenzie when she went to Wildwood Valley and met West. What’s a girl to do?

Hart has written a sweet, spicy, instalove tale with fun banter and big emotions. My favorite part was when Mackenzie met West: “I realized I’d been standing there, gaping at him like a lovestruck teenager. I’d just never seen anybody so gorgeous. And he worked in a restaurant? Actually, it sounded like he owned the place. That didn’t fit. Lumberjack-looking guys didn’t own cutesy fifties diners.” You’ll have to read the book to find out. It is worth your time.

Mackenzie came to Wildwood Valley as a mail order bride to meet her fiance. She is told that a mistake occurred and that there are two mail order brides for one man. Needing time to think and not knowing anyone she goes searching for a place to get a drink. She walks into the restaurant and once look at West and it’s instalove. West takes a look at Mackenzie and the connection between the two start to grow. Although she is engaged, he starts thinking about ways to get her to change her mind and be his. What will Mackenzie do? Can they have a HEA? Nice entertaining story with an amusing plot and characters will plenty of chemistry. Highly recommend.

Mackenzie has come to Wildwood Valley to marry the groom she has been corresponding with over email but has never met. Events aren’t unfolding as she planned as not only does her groom know nothing about her, but she isn’t the only woman that has come to marry him.

After his sister fell in love and decided not to return West finds himself trying to make the pub she owned profitable. When Mackenzie walks in the feelings he has for her are undeniable and now he needs to find a way to convince her that he should be her groom.

Sweet and steamy it was love at first sight for Mackenzie and West as what started out as a misunderstanding turned into the best thing that could ever happen to them.

Way Too Short!! 😩😩😩

I loved the start of this series. Mackenzie came to town thinking she was getting married in two days. The woman that ran the Wildwood Valley Inn was in fact the communicator and not the fiancé. Mackenzie needed a drink to calm her nerves so she walked across the street to the Diner The Soda Jerk. When she got inside right away she was told that the kitchen was closed. She really just needed a drink. The owner of the diner told her he only had flavored seltzer. She said ok and he came back out with that and he had a beer for himself. She started telling him her story while he stood behind the counter. He introduced himself as West. He was hoping to… 🥰🥰🥰🥰🥰💜💜💜💜💜😊😊😊😊😊

Bobbi’s bungle leads to HEA ♥️

Holy cow - I won’t be able to look at a booth in the same way again (*fans self). Super hot, quick read about Mackenzie who comes all the way to Wildwood Valley to marry a man she never met. Turns out, he doesn’t know she exists either (looking at you Bobbi 👀😂). While she is waiting at the nearby diner, fate steps in and she meets west. Instalove (and lust!!) all around. I was so hoping that Wildwood would be the next series and she doesn’t disappoint- another fun, sexy read delivered by Lilah Hart!
P.S. Don’t forget the blistering hot bonus chapter!!!.

The day Mackenzie arrives in town as a mail-order bride, she meets and falls in love with diner owner West. It’s okay though, no cheating because the intended groom accidentally got fixed up with two brides to be. It’s a cute premise followed by pure heat. If you’re here for a complex plot you’re reading the wrong book, but if you want a serving of cute wrapped in a lot of heat, this is the book for you.

Mackenzie has a lot of stress, between losing her job, moving to somewhere new, a loved one that has passed away, and she’s a mail order bride on her way to meet him. They’ve never spoken, but she’s seen a picture of him and assumes he’s seen one of her. She arrives at the Wildwood Valley Inn where her future husband says he has a room set up for her.
The Mountain Man’s Mail Order Mix-Up is an awesome read. The storyline and the characters are just done perfectly and combined make for a great spicy story. I wholeheartedly recommend this read and the rest of the series.

Mountain Man's Mail Order Mix-Up is Book 1 of the new Wildwood Valley Brides series. It's a short and steamy, instalove, OTT, age-gap, mail-order bride, curvy virgin gets her mountain man romance. Mackenzie is a young curvy girl who has come to town as a mail-order bride. She has yet to meet her groom. West is a hunky ex-military man who runs the local diner. When Mackenzie walks in for food, he knows he never wants to let her go. The chemistry between these two was insane and the ending was so happy. I can't wait for the next book in the series.

She goes across the street hoping for a drink but no alcohol. Instead, she meets someone she is instantly attracted to West. Well now she is in a conundrum. Will she still marry who she came to town for or back out? Does West want her as well? I really enjoyed their story and characters.

I just love Ms. Hart's instalove stories and this one doesn't disappoint. It is an interesting beginning to the new series set in Wildwood Valley. The heroine gave up everything to come marry a man she has never met. Unfortunately, when she arrives in town she finds out that things may not go as planned. As a way to waste time, she walks across the road to the Soda Shop and that's when things take another strange turn. See if this mix-up can lead to a happy ending for all.

When she gets there she finds out things are not what they seem. Needing a drink she heads across the street to a restaurant. West owns the restaurant in Wildwood Valley. Mail Order Mix Up – Mackenzie and West

Mackenzie is in a wedding dress to meet her future husband. She has seen a photo of him but has he seen one of her?! They have not communicated to each other… She arrived at Wildwood Valley Inn and her fiancé instructed to stay there until they were officially married. There is a HUGE mix up at the Inn… Mackenzie left everything to start a new life with him but now what?! You have to read this book to find out ;-)

Read the steamy bonus chapter at the end! :-)

Mackenzie had arrived in Wildwood Valley believing that she had a groom paying for her hotel room and being married in 2 days on Sunday. What she learned was that she was one of two brides for the same guy plus the local inn receptionist had set up the meet-n-greet without telling the perspective groom along with sending the exchanged emails. Follow MacKenzie's change of the original plan and where it goes! Does she ends up with the same groom as planned?.

Umm, oopsy?! What do you do when the wrong mail order bride arrives for for the wedding? Mackenzie was about to find out! This laughable, yet touching insta-love romance was one for the books. West and Mackinzie had great chemistry and made a natural couple. To bad he wasn't her intended... or was he? This story has some things working behind the scenes, and you get just a peak. You also get to know a bit about both characters as they realize that the booking mistake may not have been such a mistake after all.

This is a short romance story. We follow Mackezie, a mail-order bride, but due to a mistake, two brides arrive for the same man. She doesn't want that, so she decides to leave and sit in a restaurant somewhere to figure out what to do. There, she meets West, and it's love at first sight for both of them. What started as a disappointment ends differently, and she finds her true love. A beautiful story with plenty of steam and romance.

"Mountain Man's Mail Order Mix-Up" by Lilah Hart is a sweet and funny story! I was hooked from the very first page. The characters are so likable, especially the strong mountain man and the sassy mail-order bride who ends up in the wrong place. Their journey is full of hilarious misunderstandings and heartwarming moments as they slowly fall for each other. It's a lighthearted read with just the right amount of romance, perfect for anyone who loves a good feel-good story with a happy ending. I highly recommend it!
