Griffin: Stone Brothers Next Generation

Rate this book
The bestselling Stone Brothers series is back with a brand new generation!

How can someone so incredible be stuck with so much baggage?

When I saw the beautiful woman and her scone surrounded by rude, greedy gulls, I jumped in to save her. I never expected for her to steal my heart, but steal it, she did.

Only one problem … and it’s a big, dangerous one. Shay Kennedy is married to an undeserving man who rules her life with an iron fist. Dad warned me it was none of my business, but my need to protect Shay is too strong to resist.

My resolve to solve my own problems is tested when a determined hero insists on being part of the chaos.

Griffin Stone is everything I’ve dreamed of, but I’m married to a nightmare, and breaking free is never easy. Tate is controlling, abusive and his mental health grows more unstable each day. He refuses to get help, and I know my time is running out.

The last thing I want is to drag Griffin into my messy life, but aside from being drop-dead gorgeous, he is stubborn. When my marriage takes a dramatic turn that I never saw coming, all I can do is hope that Griffin will be waiting on the other side … if and when I make it through.

Griffin Stone is Colt & Jade’s son, and he carries with him the fiercely protective, deeply loving traits that you loved in Stone Cold Bad.

Drama!

I’m a little rusty on the initial stories but they each still pack a punch! I love that the FMC was a former ballerina but her story was so incredibly heartbreaking. The side story of Annie also broke my heart but I was so at peace that it gave Shay the strength to push forward. Loved it!

Griffin by Tessa Oliver is an emotionally charged and deeply compelling story that doesn’t shy away from difficult realities. The novel follows Griffin, Colt’s son, whose life takes an unexpected turn when he develops feelings for Shay—the company’s new secretary, who is, at first glance, completely off-limits due to her marriage.

What begins as a complicated attraction quickly unfolds into something much heavier. As Griffin and Colt learn more about Shay’s situation, it becomes clear that her marriage is far from what it seems. The story explores the harsh truth of abusive relationships with a rawness that feels both authentic and impactful.

One of the strongest aspects of this book is Shay herself. Her resilience and courage stand out, making her more than just a love interest—she’s the emotional core of the story. Watching her navigate fear, vulnerability, and ultimately strength adds real depth to the narrative.

Oliver balances intense emotional moments with a gripping storyline full of twists, keeping the reader invested throughout. The book doesn’t romanticize trauma but instead highlights survival, growth, and the complexity of trust and healing.

For readers who have experienced similar situations, Griffin may hit especially close to home. It’s not always an easy read, but it’s a powerful one—honest, moving, and ultimately uplifting in its portrayal of strength in the face of adversity.

I will preface this review with that I read this book as a standalone. I did not read any other books within this series yet.

I did enjoy reading this book. The characters I’m sure were developed over the other novels within the series but the author does dive in and gives you context to be able to follow the story. The FMC Shay was spunky and independent. Her MMC Griffin was a protective alpha male. Loved how we got back stories on other characters in the story.

The reason I only gave 4 stars instead of 5 was because I felt like there was this big build up and then nothing. It was all over within 2 chapters. Like really that’s it? No big conflict between Shay and her husband? It pretty much was a page of Shay and her husband Tate having this argument (which again I stress was BUILT up the WHOLE time).

Tropes:
❤️Insta-love
💍Married FMC
❤️‍🩹Not on the page detailed out but Abusive marriage for the FMC
❤️HEA
💍Protective MMC
❤️Found family

wow

Wow, just wow! I fell in love with Griffin and Shay’s story. Shays situation is a nightmare every woman fears. But she is strong and smart. Griffin and Colt Recognize what’s going on in her life and offer her help. Griffin knows just what to do to give her enough space to help herself. The twist at the end was a little predictable but good nonetheless. The saying karma is a bitch Fits this perfectly. If only we could clone Griffin, the world would be a better place. Can’t wait to see what happens in Theo’s book.

You just never know

A love story wrapped with suspicion. A nasty man, abusive and the ability to travel. Woman gets killed and he comes home with a piece of clothing that he wouldn't be able to wear. Thankfully a picture to the right person did the trick. Now, onward and upward.
