When Roxy (on the spectrum and dyslexic) was told she couldn't write creatively, her mother disagreed. Roxy had an imagination but she might have trouble expressing herself, so her mother thought she'd prove it. Roxy told her what she wanted to say, who her characters were, what she thought was important, and her mother wrote the stories for her.
Turns out, Roxy's imagination was fabulous, with worlds filled with cats and dragons, smart raccoons and ravens, whales and even animated puppets. Her imagination was amazing and isn't that true of most children, if we'd only listen?
Stephanie Barr is a part time novelist, full time rocket scientist and mother of three children and slave to three cats. She has three blogs, which are sporadically updated. Anything else even vaguely interesting about her can be found in her writing since she puts a little bit of herself in everything she writes . . . just not the same piece.
