The Rangers and Turtles face their deadliest showdown yet when two of their greatest enemies—Lord Zedd and Shredder—unite for an all-out assault on Earth! With the relentless attacks on innocent civilians and a shocking new breed of Evil joining the fray, even the combined strength of the Mighty Morphin Power Rangers and the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles might not be enough to stop the chaos.
And when one of their own is lost and alliances begin to fracture, the road to victory suddenly grows darker than ever. Can they find a way to work together again before the villains claim total victory—or will this be their final fight?
Fan-favorite veteran writer Ryan Parrott (Vicarious) joins forces with acclaimed artist Vincenzo Federici (Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Mutant Nation) for the final chapter in the blockbuster event series!
Collects Mighty Morphin Power Rangers/Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles III #1–5.
I really enjoyed this book. I love the mixing/blending of the Power Rangers and TMNT universe and mythology. I also like the continuity between all three volumes of this cross over series. The story is good the artwork is great, there is a lot of action, but the only criticism I have of this book is pace. The book feels very rushed. I think they should have made this a six issues series instead of five. Too much seems to happen between panels.
The Power Rangers and the Turtles are on the back foot because of the alliance between Shredder and Lord Zedd. Worse there minions and monsters seem to be getting stronger and attack in larger quantities and frequency. The Rangers and Turtles are also spread thin across the Earth and Dimension X. Now Shredder and Lord Zedd are about for the final push. This is not a fight for survival but a fight everything and everyone the Rangers and Turtles care about.
Even though it says this is the conclusion of the crossover series, however, yes it might just be wishful thinking on my part, I think that there might be enough for a volume four? I would definitely read it. This book finishes with a variant cover gallery.
With Shredder and Lord Zedd bombarding the world with monsters and both teams on the outs with one another, it looks like all's lost - but some interdimensional help from the most unexpected of places might turn the tide just in time.
In the same vein as the first two series, MMPR/TMNT III is a tour de force of all the silly things you'd want to happen when smashing these two properties together. There are more than a few "oh hell yes" moments as you flip pages, some surprises along the way, and a satisfying ending that closes down the long-term story nicely while leaving the door open should anyone want to revisit this idea.
The artwork's solid all the way through, even with a fill-in helping out on the final issue, and I closed this book with a smile on my face. That's a glowing endorsement if I ever saw one.
