Man schlägt dieses Buch auf und zack, plötzlich fühlt sich das Wohnzimmer an wie ein geheimer Raum im Avengers Tower. Dieses Ding ist kein normales Buch, das ist eher ein Portal mit Papierseiten. Und ja, ich hab mich dabei erwischt, wie ich viel zu lange auf eine einzige Seite gestarrt habe, weil überall kleine Details versteckt sind.

Die Querschnitte sind einfach absurd gut. Egal ob der Helicarrier oder die Milano, alles wirkt so, als könnte man direkt reinzoomen und irgendwo Iron Man beim Schrauben erwischen. Gerade diese Mischung aus Technik, Filmwissen und kleinen Insiderinfos macht süchtig. Immer wieder denkt man, nur noch eine Seite und dann liegt man doch wieder zehn Minuten später komplett verloren irgendwo in Sakaar.

Was besonders hängen bleibt, ist dieses Gefühl, dass hier wirklich Liebe drinsteckt. Kein schnell zusammengewürfeltes Fanbuch, sondern ein echtes Nerd-Projekt. Klar, manchmal hätte ich mir noch ein paar mehr Schauplätze gewünscht oder hier und da mehr Text, aber ganz ehrlich, das ist Jammern auf sehr hohem Niveau.

Am Ende bleibt ein fettes Grinsen und dieser Gedanke: Genau so will man die Marvel-Welt erleben. Nicht nur anschauen, sondern auseinandernehmen, verstehen und feiern.

"Marvel Studios Cross-Sections" is definitely a must-have collector's item for Marvel fans. This beautiful hardcover book is filled with photos, design, and facts of Marvel films. The contents after the Foreward and Intro are divided up into different focuses: Camp Lehigh, Iron Man, Tony Stark's Mansion, Asgard Royal Palace, Helicarrier, The Triskelion, The Milano, Knowhere, Avengers Tower, Quinjet, The Red Room, Wakanda Citadel, New York Sanctum, Sakaar, Hank Pym's Lab, Q-Ship, Ta Lo, Talokan, The Hoopty, and Baxter Building. This beautifully done compendium of Marvel fandom includes lots of interesting pages from costume design to behind the scenes, film sets up close, illustrations of famous places from Marvel films, and more. This is definitely geared towards fans that may want a nerdy coffee table book - and I mean that in the best way possible.
