This series won't be for everyone, but if you're in the mood for it, the first two books have delivered on their promise. And props to the author, it feels like he's having a fun time writing this.
I'm surprised by how much I enjoyed the second volume of this series. While I enjoy humor as much, if not more, than the next guy, I'm also pretty quick to lose interest in seeing the same gag over and over. This series follows a force of nature, basically the cessation of existence given human form, as he navigates an exaggerated fantasy landscape of isekai tropes and various characters with immense egos.
A common criticism for the series will likely be how people keep underestimating Yogiri and his Instant Death ability. But ego is a hell of a drug and the idea of a person being able to kill anything instantly is fundamentally counter to a reality that's fair. Every single experience a person has had, every skill and iota of strength and magic they've accumulated, the idea of it being meaningless is hard to accept. But it's meaningless before our MC.
On one hand, that predictability might seem boring. But on the other, it's like an episodic character study where we get to see these other characters and how they became who they are and we wonder if, maybe, just maybe, this person has what it takes to survive. Maybe it's because I'm only two books in, but despite being wildly overpowered, Yogiri's ability still has limitations. The author also does a great job of presenting a character that genuinely seems to have a chance against the Death ability. So despite knowing what will happen, there's always a little doubt in the back of my mind saying there's a chance.
We constantly see the ludicrous situation of overpowered abilities being swatted down by an even more powerful ability, and what would be more ludicrous than eventually seeing Yogiri's reaction to someone finally resisting his ability? It's just like all the Floyd Mayweather haters who tune into every one of his fights, hoping to see him lose. We are hoping to call the author's bluff that Yogiri is an unstoppable force and the author sells us on the pre-fight stories of how this opponent could be the one because of x, y, and z. But Yogiri and Floyd stay undefeated.
This story has 14 volumes so far and I can't imagine making it all the way to the end. I rarely make it that far in any series, let alone one that seems to rely on the same formula each book. But I want to know what's at the finish line. Will anything ever survive Yogiri's power? Will he ever make it back home? What state will he leave his isekai world in by the time things finish? So far, I still want to know those answers, so I will end up reading the next book.

The main character of this light novel series, Yogiri Takatou, can only kill, sleep or play his video game (and doesn't play it well). The girl, Tomochika,that accompanies the main character, only complains and is a magnet to sexual predators and trouble.
This whole volume 2, is a story about them two going up a tower as a trial to become a sword master and neither of them have a sword or any training is swordmanship. They spent the whole volume not wanting to do the trial and ruining the trial for all of the people that were doing the trial.
The Light novel series is not funny, nor a romantic story, and really not filled with action, so it is very much flat to read.
Yogiri's only objective is to send Tomuchika back home. Tomuchika does not have magic skills. Does not have fighting skills, and by the illustrations is not pretty (looks like a 12 year old girl).
Without really having a plot or action in this series, the killed characters outnumber the living ones. I would suggest to the author and the rest of the readers that maybe the best solution to this series, would be for the main character, Yogiri to kill everybody, including himself, in this alternate reality world, so that he could put this world out of its misery and end this story as well.

Enjoyable volume where the author seemed to target other Isekai characters such as Re:Zero, Arifureta, and probably more that I'm unfamiliar with. Based on the afterward, he even killed off a fellow author...but that wasn't his fault. It was decided by Twitter. Almost forgot about the sage, Aoi, who seemed to be based on the protagonists from one of the author's other series.
Really enjoyed the epilogue, titled the Agency. Would have given it 5 stars just by itself. Also got me thinking that the heroine is the perfect companion for the protagonist.

What more can you ask for. There is dungeon like tower, fallen gods, goddesses, demon spawns, sword master, dragons, and more.

I enjoyed the second installment of this series. I didn't enjoy all of the humor but I did enjoy seeing everyone's reactions to his power. Everybody has so many plans and there were many layers and he just powered his way through everything without a care. Can't wait for the next one.
