Trained to kill. Born to obey. Not anymore. When all you’ve known is survival, love feels like rebellion.
Dimitri Volkov was never given a choice. As an omega raised in the shadows of the Russian bratva, he was molded into the perfect assassin—silent, obedient, unfeeling. Thirty-seven kills. Zero hesitation. And no memory of what it means to be human.
Until the night he’s captured by the son of his final target.
Leo Stavros should execute his father’s killer. But instead of pulling the trigger, the Greek mafia heir finds himself drawn to the broken omega who seems to welcome death. Dimitri doesn’t flinch. Doesn’t plead. But beneath the silence is a spark Leo can’t ignore.
Dimitri’s scent hits Leo like a drug—wrong, twisted… and fated.
As danger closes in and the bratva moves to reclaim their weapon, Leo faces an impossible put a bullet in his father's killer… or protect the mate he never expected to find.
This is a slow-burn, emotionally intense omegaverse romance with hurt/comfort, found family, protective alphas, and an omega worth saving.
This book actually surprised me. I thought I would for sure end up not finishing it before I even started but I actually liked it!!
I think the beginning was my favorite. Dimitri was assigned to kill Leo’s dad and after he did Leo wanted to kill Dimitri for taking his dad from him. But instead he found his mate. It wasn’t super clear if they were fated mates but Leo kept saying that he’s never felt the call to an omega before Dimitri and his dad told him that he would know when he found his mate when it happens.
Poor Dimitri. Yes he’s an assassin but he was raised as a weapon by this terrible guy who did really awful things to him. It was sad hearing about the things he went through and the way he feels about himself. I actually really liked Dimitri. He was so sweet and just needed to be loved.
Leo was a great alpha as well. He knew he should kill Dimitri but he couldn’t lay a finger on him and ended up putting him before his family.
The second half wasn’t as good as the first but I still enjoyed the book.
TWs on this one: recounts of torture and abuse, attempted suicide by MC and murder
NO CHEATING OR OP DRAMA AT ALL. NO SEPARATION. MPREG WITH A HEA. UNCLEAR IF DIMITRI WAS A VIRGIN BUT LEO STATED HES HAD SEX BEFORE (sweet sex, rough sex, dirty sex 🥴wasn’t my favorite to hear but he didn’t come off as a manwhore)
