Per Hiero Desteen was a priest, a telepath-and a highly trained killer. Through his travels he has fought bloodthirsty tribes, met incredible creatures, learned unbelievable things, all for the sake of protecting the last vestiges of humanity on the remains of a planet that is regrowing after it was nearly entirely destroyed.
He has seen horrors and wonders. He has braved trials beyond belief.
And now, finally, his journey is coming to an end.
Finally completed by Sterling Lanier's goddaughter Lucy Cummin, Hiero Desteen's legend reaches its epic conclusion, more than fifty years after he was first introduced to the world.
W e've been waiting for this book for nearly 50 years now, and we appreciate that it required a heroic effort to complete and publish. But at first reading it seems so different to what was expected. I xod a quick second skim of it, though, and I really think it's going to makesense after all! I intend to read it again immediately, and it will remain with the first two books in my permanent library. A big Thank You to SterIng's daughter Lucy for taking this on, and to the Publisher for making the decision to bring it out!
If you’re a sci-fi fan who's loved the immersive world of Lanier, Hiero’s Answer, the long-awaited final book in this post-apocalyptic Hiero series, brings the epic to a close in a satisfying way. The plot is creative and engaging, the pacing is excellent, and the characters feel rich and compelling. There’s real momentum here, and the story held my attention. Highly recommend.
If you haven’t yet read the first 2 of this series, begin with Hiero’s Journey, then The Unforsaken Hiero, and then enjoy Hiero's Answer.
Been waiting since 1983 for this third book to be written and published. Was not disappointed in the least! Good adventure. I wanted to rush through it one minute and was afraid it would end to soon the next. Really enjoyed it. Thank you Lucy Andrew Cummins. (Sterling’s God Daughter) for writing it.
