Jackson ‘Stacks’ DeLuca is the baby of the DeLuca bunch. He’s always lived in the shadows of his older brothers, but that didn’t stop him from making a name for himself. His witty charm was his secret weapon, and he used that at every angle. When he uses said charm on his brother’s bar manager, Kasha, he had to put in overtime because she wasn’t giving him the time of day.
Kasha Sims is the hard-working and loyal bar manager of Linc’s. She’s easily one of Buck’s favorite people because of her hard work and dedication. She’s also the target of his younger brother Stacks’ affection. Things go on behind the scenes with Stacks and Kasha that cause her son’s father to wreak havoc in their lives. With disloyalty on the horizon, can Stacks and Kasha build a life together or will he have to prove that he isn’t the DeLuca to go against?
Another quick paced & fast read. There was a bit more tension in this book and we got to see Stacks not just as the fun loving youngest brother, but the emotional & passionate man/lover/step daddy. Even though the author says this is a standalone it’s definitely a continuation of book 1. Without that you’d be missing serious context. With that said, the banter between the brothers (& Mel) is probably my favorite parts of these books. Even though this isn’t his story, I like that we get to see Buck as daddy/a lover boy because that seriously lacked in the first book for me. Kasha & Stacks were a decent couple despite the age gap, & them having to push through some serious miscommunication to get to their happily ever after.
I enjoyed this one because of the banter between the brothers. I really liked Kasha from Book 1 and I liked her and Stacks (Jackson) together UNTIL, what I see as, the betrayal. I am clearly in the minority on this one. The author did a really commendable job of presenting both sides, and I do like that everyone called Kasha out on her decision, thereby acknowledging the elephant in the room, but I am firmly behind Stack's initial reasoning that what she did was disloyal. The age argument didn't really hold water for me, nor did the one about her not wanting to get Stacks hurt. I entertained it. I really did, and if Stacks was a regular dude, I could see that she didn't want him to get hurt again but KNOWING who his family is, my feeling is that . Besides, what was her end goal? Because at some point the brothers were going to find out she saw/spoke to dude before he left. And she was gonna say what? So that just turned me off the entire relationship, and my love for them never recovered. This is why Buck is my favorite, because even though he gave Kasha the benefit of the doubt and welcomed her back wholeheartedly, he made it quite clear that had she been his woman she would have been in the incinerator right alongside her baby daddy, and I fully supported that decision lol. Meanwhile, y'all . Having said all that, I did love how Kasha handled Rein at the club, and the whole birthday card scene with Jace almost made me shed a couple thug tears. LOL I love them as a family unit. I just can't get past what Kasha did.
I'm very hesitant to read Book 3; I might skip it. I really have no interest in reading about Mel, even though Kilo intrigues me. Also, in this book it says it was a coincidence that she and Kilo met up at the prison, but in Book 2 (Page 133, I went back to look) it says that it was NOT a coincidence, and implied that Kilo pretty much got her the job so he could continue to function behind bars. I thought I was going crazy.
So yeah, without Kasha messing up this would be four stars, but I would land at 3.
Book 2 of the series. However, we met Kasha and Stacks in book 1.
Older FMC, single mother Younger MMC, step-daddy ready Spicy scenes were 🌶️ 🌶️🌶️🌶️ __________________________________
Heavy on the miscommunication trope which was woven throughout the first half of the book (about 60%).
It wasn’t the only thing in the first half of the story but it was a strong foundation for the drama that went on there.
FOR ME, that’s the only reason I’m giving it 3 stars instead of 4 (I wish we were given half/quarter star options because it would be a strong 3.5)
Written well vs what I like written….
The book was written well but I would have PREFERRED an earlier resolution for our couple.
I think that’s because the author wrote their love story and connection so well that I wish we’d experienced more of that vs them at odds with one another.
However, I enjoyed and would definitely recommend! Kasha and Stacks finally got their happy ending after stressing me TF out!
Thank you Tacarra for sharing your passion and words with us! I appreciate it and plan on reading more of your catalog.
Now, I’m waiting on Kilo’s story😩😂
*respectfully to the grammar snobs🤓 - I think there were a couple of errors but nothing major IMO. Definitely wasn’t enough for me to notice/not enjoy the book!
Okay, so Stacks is just as crazy as Buck. However, Buck is deranged, but Stacks is crazy too.
I enjoyed this story about the baby brother. He is the fun brother with a great smile and quick sense of humor. And even though he is young, he knew exactly what he wanted which was Kasha.
Kasha was older and didn't give him a chance until she did. What she found was that Stacks was very mature for his age. He loved everything about her unlike her sorry baby daddy. He told her that he would walk through fire for her and Jace, and he did. Straight pressure.
The second installment was very good. I love the dynamics between the brothers.
Stacks is not just a player; he’s a force to be reckoned with! As the baby brother of the DeLuca family, he may seem charming and quiet at first glance, but don't let that fool you – he’s fiercely protective of his family, his girl, and his little boy. I absolutely loved diving into his story with Kasha, and witnessing their journey to a well-deserved happily ever after was truly satisfying! And let’s not forget Buck – he’s as wild as ever! I can hardly contain my excitement for Kilo's story next!
Loved this! I need Mel and Kilo’s book now. I knew he was going to get home early. I was scared for Kasha’s life. Stacks was ready to get her and Lance. Glad Buck and Kilo and their mom talked some sense into him. Jace was able to clear up that misunderstanding also. He loved him some Stacks. Now Stacks is about to be a father of 2. Oh, I loved the Gina and Pam references with Stone’s real name being Martin lol.
Great read. There has to be another DeLuca book, just to see Buck and Stacks get married. I can imagine Kilo and Mel already married secretly. I libe the bond that the brothers have and their unique names. The Deluca brothers' relationships were just as good ,I thought that Stacks was going to ruin his chamce with Kash, but his family spoke some sense into him just as Kash mama spoke some sense into her!
I loved the epilogue, humor, seriousness, and the unconditional love of brothers!
I truly enjoyed this book and was soooo happy that Kilo is home!!!… I’m glad the women in the book is seen with some stability and not just some women looking for a come up on their man’s dime!!!… I love me some Kash and although I get why she said nothing, I also understood why her man was upset!!!… That baby daddy got everything he thought he didn’t deserve and more!!!…
Everyone matures differently when it comes to relationships most people don’t know what they want from life. Hurt people hurt others especially when jealousy comes forward.
You can be adamant on who you don’t want to be with and God will help you see your partner in who you thought wasn’t.
Jackson was the baby brother, but he knew what he could provide. He opened his heart to Kash and her son. He definitely went through the fire for her. And Jace definitely got the father he deserved. 2 for 2, can't wait to read the last book in this series
I enjoyed reading about Stacks and Kasha. Stack is the baby of the Deluca family. Finally, getting the woman that he wants to take him seriously. Things start out promising will one mistake change their whole relationship. I found myself cheering for this couple. Great job the author.
Jackson “Stacks” DeLuca and his boo Kasha finally get their hea in book 2 of this series. I enjoyed reading this one despite some aspects of the story being ambiguous. Like Kasha’s age and how these two went from flirting to living together which occurred sometime during book 2 but that wasn’t discussed. Overall, it was a good read.
Wow! This was a damn good book like stacks is my man my man my man and someone needs to do something to Rein I was sooooo sick of her but this book had me glued to my seat from page 1 didn’t put it down. When that man said he would walk thru the fire he stood on business 5 stars hand down loved this one!
I didn't know what to expect and at moments both Kasha and Stacks got a bit on my nerves but as always Tacarra knows how to reign the action in with good gore and great characters.
I loved Stacks aka Jackson! He was the true definition of a YN, but definitely knew how to handle business and he didn’t play about Kasha and Jace! Great read, now I’m ready for Kilo’s story.
I love when a man steps about his woman. Age ain’t nothing big a number when the love is real!!! Can’t wait to read Kiki’s story him and Mel got a story and I’m patiently waiting. You did ya thing per usual Tacarra
When i say a good read, I mean just that ‼️I'm sitting here thinking , " Can book 3 come like nowwwww Now, I'm so so so ready. These brothers are hilarious, but most importantly, they stick together
I’m not going to say to much…just know Stacks and Kasha story was entertaining from beginning to end. I shed a few tears the morning of Stacks birthday. That birthday card and the hug between Stacks and Jace was everything. ❤️❤️❤️
This novella was good and flowed seamlessly. A little too short but then again it’s a novella🤷🏾♀️ Love these brothers and their crazy yet loyal dedication and love for one another despite anything … Can’t wait to read more from Tacarra!!!!
Yes ma’am you outdid yourself again with this crew now all we need is Mel and kilo hint hint Jackson just proved age ain’t nothing but a number and buck skinning lance was cra cra but that’s buck lol
These two went through a situation that probably could've been avoided. They had a connection out of this world. He was hurt but still loved that woman and her child. I understand from her point of view also. This story was great right along with the Deluca brothers.
I get it, but sometimes you just gotta let the man you with handle those situations. Jackson said what he said, and stood on big business behind Kash. I loved the gift Jace got him for his birthday. And you know I love me a HEA.
Tacarra, I love these brothers and their mates. Each time they formed the bond with each other the joy and mess that came with it was well worth it in the end. Jackson is the calmer brother but no nonsense does he play with. 🤗🤗🤗🤗
Another awesome read in this series. Buck is still my favorite but Stacks is alright too. I love how the brothers interact with each other. They always have each other's back. Can't wait to dive into Kilo's story.
The whole family is crazy 😭 I enjoyed Stacks & Kasha’s story! Even though he’s the baby he’s slightly unhinged just like Buck! I love how he stepped up for Kasha & Jace! Stacks was wise way beyond his years! I can’t wait to get into Kilo’s story next!
I still love Buck but Stacks is just as nutty as his older brother, making this book hilarious! The drama in this book was top tier too. The DeLuca Brothers have stolen my heart.
As I stated about the first book, it is a good read but the errors took away in certain places. I like the way the books flow into each other but they still standalone. Love characters.
