A sign of how good a series is when there's such long gaps between installments is how much I can remember and how easily I slip back into the world that's been established. With Inferno Girl Red, it took me all of about three pages. Granted, I didn't remember all the characters' names, but the plot came back quick as a flash, and then I couldn't stop reading until I finished the volume. The story improves on the first volume now that the characters have been established, branching out the world and introducing a few new villains into the mix too.
The artwork is definitely a huge selling point. It's clear that this book is Power Rangers inspired on every level, and the artwork is absolutely the kind of aesthetic I'd want on a Power Rangers book. Beautiful colours, dynamic action, expressive characters - I'd probably have read this even without the words.
I hope it's not quite as long before Book Three, however.
Verdict: Really, it's more of the same. It continues the story directly from book 1 and it's a good follow-up. I think what they do with Thomas' character and his relationship to Cassia is awesome and it's a welcome change from the typical direction a relationship like that could have gone. Good stuff and I can't wait for book 3. Definitely my fav Massive book.
