Well the smut was spicy as all get out! Definitely a hot take on taboo omegaverse. I’d say this was more erotica than romance, since it felt more of a using nature for Dean (although we never got his POV)

There were a couple tender moments but many times it felt like Dean demanding ownership of Kiran and not a relationship.

Still. Very steamy. Very taboo. I enjoyed it!

I didn’t Hate, but was hard to enjoy.
I have just ONE issue whit this Read. Not the taboo part of it, I think it was pretty hot 🔥 that the Alfa brother was just waiting for the younger brother to turn…. I love a good obsessive Alfa top and don’t care how they’re related.
My problem was with the omega. I hate stories when omegas don’t have a say in it…. He lack a voice literally …I believe he speaks twice. And everything we know about him comes from thoughts or his brothers voice telling us what we need to know.
That I don’t like.
I believe this would be perfect if the omega had the chance to say something. Even if it’s just to act a little slutty with his big bro….. 🤭
I try to enjoy this reading but it was hard for me, I really miss the omega being in more control of his body and the overall situation.

Ok..not gonna lie...I think this might be my favorite D. Dove book! This was just everything I could ask for with D. Dove, Omegaverse, and Tab00!

Kiran has always thought he was a Beta..really the only one in the family not an alpha. When he goes home during the summer he thinks he is getting sick but it's actually a late Omega transition.
Kiran's older Brother Dean is there with him and knows exactly what is going on...he has actually been hoping this would eventually happen never really believing Kiran was a Beta. So when his brother needs help through this and needs to well..learn..what to do Dean is happy to jump in and..guide him..
Holy hell this was hot and again morals....none here...don't know what those are..I was just straight up rooting for the brothers! Then when I got to the end and was sad it was over and went "Man I wish there was more" D. Dove went "hold my beer more is coming!!" I will be absolutely running for that when it drops!!

Taboo brocest, slight dubcon, secret manipulation, brain fog and separate consciousness/ thoughts during and outside of heat, omegaverse (no mpreg), sneaking around, knotting, lactating and nipple play, possessiveness, slight age gap

That list of tropes and kinks is everything I love to read! Except I'm usually half and half when reading mindbreak, but this actually didn't have any despite the trope list, so I was glad I took a chance and read this. Kiran still had his own conscious and his own thoughts, so I didn't think there was any mindbreak at all.

This was such a delicious, very slight dubcon (but not really because they're both attracted to each other), very short, slow burn but high heat brocest. It's all told in Kiran's POV the whole time, so we get his thoughts outside the heat, and also his needy self during the heat 🥵🥵🥵.

I can't wait for any sequel books, because 5 chapters is too short, and the author's note hinted at more 'cesty shenanigans later yessss

Review: I knew going into this book what it was generally. I knew it was brothers and all that jazz. The book just wasn't my liking. I didn't really get the alpha and omega part and i felt like it just ended. it was only 5 chapters and i think 70 pages or something like that so really it was over pretty quickly. i started it later at night so it did take me two days to read it but it didn't take me that long to actually get thought it if that makes sense. I would of finished it in a day if i would of started it earlier. My first D.Dove book too.

Kiran and his alpha brother Dean are close. Everything Kiran knows is because of Dean. He can’t wait to see his brother again after four months.

Sadly Kiran doesn’t feel well. He’s feverishly hot, he doesn’t recognize his body.

When Dean finally arrives, the alpha understands what’s happening. Only Kiran not yet, he’s more unconscious than conscious, but he’s so happy with what Dean is giving him. His brother smells divine, and he’s utterly content to feel his big brother’s arms around him. Uh-oh, what is Dean doing with his big fingers…? No! He can’t, it’s forbidden!

Whoo hoo, love this story it was a slightly dark, delicious hot, short read. It’s forbidden, but they can’t help themselves ha!. I loved how these brothers were close.

The story is captivatingly written and very appetizing!

Every time I think I know what I'm getting into when I pick up a D. Dove book, they manage to surprise the f*ck out of me

This may sound weird, but I would have liked this a lot more if it hadn't been omegaverse. I have a deep love and reverence for omegaverse, and I just prefer when those books are happy. When they're dark, I get sad. That may not make a whole lot of sense, but you can read dark things and not be sad. Look at the true crime people. Look at my weird obsession with the alien books they wrote. 

This was a little too bleak for me, but there were parts I did enjoy. I love a good mind break, and I liked what's been alluded to if they ever decide to continue with these characters. It's not my favorite thing from D. Dove, but far from my least. That makes it a solid three.

Reread to remember the story before reading the second book Between Family

After rereading I’m bumping it down from 4 ⭐️ to 3.5 ⭐️


This was a taboo smut filled story with some plot haha. Dean takes advantage of Kiran (who presents as an omega). Keeping it from their dad and uncle. Kiran has few lucid moments where he blames himself for what Dean is doing to him.

I’m a big fan of D. Dove. They have their own rating scale based on the content. A Dove 6 being dark with triggering content. If it’s not a Dove 5 or 6 I’m usually passing lol. This story is a Dove 6, but the story wasn’t dark. I wouldn’t consider it containing non-con. More dub-con.

Overall it was a pretty good smut filled taboo read
