"If you want to really get to know someone, take a trip with them." Starting a Journey with Jesus is a two-week experience of learning about Jesus through the words of Matthew (a close travelling companion of Jesus). Each day has a short passage from Matthew (in consecutive order), a brief comment, and then a prayer to guide meditation and reflection. Written as a travel guide for someone taking a pilgrimage, it is accessible to people of faith, doubt, religious or curious. This is a hands-on and participative experience. Spend a few minutes a day getting to know the most famous stranger to have walked the earth.

This book was a little disappointing. I expected more about the places Jesus went to and a little more in depth understanding of His message. This was very elemental. The prayers at the end of each chapter were helpful, but there needed to be more substance.
