Who would have thought that a shy country girl like Annabelle Waters could end up in a big city like San Fransisco and get in a heap of trouble. When a tragedy strike at home and Annabella has to return home before her last nursing exam needed for graduate will the trouble follow her home ? She knows that when she leaves she will have to eventually return to take her exam but will she want to go back after being home and feeling safe for once in a long time. Derek Fields tries to make Annabelle feel comfortable when she arrives home. The Water and Field families have looked out for each other since day one....but will Derek be able to look after Annabelle when she would tell him her dark secret....even thought Derek has a dark secret he is also keeping from everyone too.
But there comes a time when they both reveal to each other there secrets and Derek knows he has to protect Annabelle and keep her safe from hers.....but when she returned to San Fransisco can he protect her or will everything start to go down hill from there. Even after Annabelle finds out she has a half sister in Missy and her best friend Blake which is Derek's brother is in love with Missy there are still dark circumstances in all of there lives.
Can Emma help Derek keep Annabelle from reliving her childhood night mare, will Missy find out the truth behind her fathers actions, will Blake save them all ??

evil continues to stalk the Waters family even after heir main Emmy has died. his 2 sons continue to attack..causing their half sister to industry when we sees her husband murdered by them. she sacks and kills terrible murderer but is left devastated and emotionally damaged.

This book was SO good. It is filled with intrigue, angst, a beautiful love between Derek and Annabelle and tragedy. Your emotions take a beating in parts of this book but there is also healing. Loved it.

I love Lacey's books, and this one was no exception (even if I did shed a few tears towards the end). Double Crossed is the second book in the Crossed Series and the story of Annabelle Walters and Derek Fields. If you haven't read the first novel in the series (you should), Annabelle and Derek knew each other as kids growing up in Ogden, as there families were close and Derek was good friends with Annabelle's brother Eric.
Annabelle has been distant from her family since she's been living in San Francisco and going to school. Eric feels something is not right and send Derek to check up and her. Once in in San Francisco, Derek cannot take his eyes off of Annabelle, she's not the same little girl she was when he left, she's now a beautiful woman, one he desperately wants.
Due to the fire at her parents home and the injuries they sustained, she takes a leave from school and heads home to help out. While staying at the Fields' house, she runs into a naked Derek in the bathroom. Annabelle couldn't deny the instant attraction, and her body never reacted to a man that way until now.
Derek knows that Annabelle is hiding something and he wants her to know that he'll protect her no matter what it is. He feels they are soul mates, yet she tells him "men aren't suppose to make a woman feel as wonderful as you're making me feel. They're meant to take what they want, when they want it." Because that's truly what she believes and part of the secret she's hiding.
Annabelle's desire to be with Derek and him with her, help her find the courage to tell him about the secrets she's been hiding from her family. With Derek's help and love and the support and help of her family, Annabelle finally tries to break free from her secret past, as past that's not willing to let her go that easily without getting what he wants. Lives will be forever changed....Have tissues ready towards the end of the book.
I'm looking forward to reading the next book in this series!

Once again another awesome book by Lacey!! I LOVED it!!! On to the review....
Annabelle is a strong and loving woman in this book. She is going through so much that she doesn't know where her life will lead next. Running from San Francisco but also going to help her parents has really turned her around in such a short period of time. Anna is having such a hard time trying to decipher fantasy and reality at times but little by little she finds out. I really loved her character because although she has been through so much she still tries to move on and enjoy what is at her fingertips.
Derek is an amazing man that he himself has been through the ringer. Between losing close friends, his best friends family being hunted and trying to find peace in his own life this man is truly spinning. He is such a strong and loving character in this book because although he has had so much loss over the last couple years he still pushes through and finds what he truly wants. I love Derek because although Annabelle keeps pulling away from Derek he never gives up on her.
Lacey truly knows how to write a love story with a little mystery suspense. This book is filled with heartache, love, sexy time, and death. ROLLER COASTER but the story around it all is a great one that will keep you wanting more!! I am so anxious to read the next that I am gonna stop here to go read the next one. So I have granted five oily stars :)

So, this wasn’t my absolute favorite of Lacey’s work but it was still really good. We were introduced to the idea of Annabelle in Eric and Emma’s book, and she is back home in in Ogden in this book following the aftermath of the attack in the previous book. (If you haven’t read Layer’s Crossed…DO IT) Now, Derek is Eric’s friend and was sent to check in on Annabelle while she was in San Fransisco, and bam we have one sided lust at first sight. Derek and Annabelle have a really sweet relationship and he treats her amazingly, which she needed. Now, what I love about Lacey’s work is that the suspense is always such a huge factor in her books, mingled in with smiles and laughs, and really hot love scenes(hello panty scorcher scenes). This was no exception, only I managed to figure out the bad guy, and his motives pretty early on, maybe it’s because I have read all her books and I am beginning to see how her twists work to interweave the stories all together. I wasn’t disappointed because while knowing parts of it, doesn’t mean it wasn’t entertaining to read. I shed some tears in the end, and while I always want a clean happy ending I know that at least Derek and Annabelle are getting one, along with Emma and Eric. I am really really interested to see Skylar’s story, she has always intrigued me, especially when I hear she has one Cash Wagner in her future.

This is another story connected to Cross Enterprises, involving Emma Cross' fiance Eric Waters and his family. Annabelle Waters has to come back home to help her parents who were in their house when it was set on fire. And they are now in the hospital recovering. When Huntz tried to kill then, because he wanted revenge and was after their farm, he didn't survive the attack. Now Anna is back home wondering if her trouble in San Francisco will follow her. She needs to hurry and get her parents better and settled so she can go back to finish her last exam and to pacify Rick. He is the man using her for money and anything else he wants. He threatens and abuses her until he gets what he wants. Derek Fields is her brothers best friend and the brother to her childhood best friend Blake. Derek was sent to San Francisco by Eric to check on Anna and he can't believe that she has grown into a beautiful young woman. As his feelings for her becomes stronger, he can't help but feel she is not telling him the whole truth. Will Rick show up in Ogden? Will she ever be free of him? Can Derek protect her? Will Missy ever get her HEA? I love this series and can't wait to start Crossed Off, Missy's story. Wow! Lacey Silks is a master at weaving a sexy romance with intrigue and suspense that keeps you guessing until all the parts fall into place. Annabelle Waters and her family have suffered at the hands of John Huntz. With her parents in the hospital, Annabelle must return to Ogden from San Francisco to help put the family back together. What no one realizes is that she has a dark cloud following her, a man she let charm her into a situation that she never dreamed of which has her scared. Derek, her best friend Blake's older brother, steps in to provide a place to live for Annabelle and at the same time makes her heart race every time she is near him. Derek hasn't seen Annabelle in years and boy is he surprised at how well she grew up. He does everything he can to make sure she stays with him and he can spend time with her. He can tell that she is afraid of something so how does he get her to trust him with her secrets? I loved Derek and Annabelle's romance, this is a slow burn as Derek slowly infiltrates Anna's defenses. Of course, it also has all the steamy sex scenes that I have come to appreciate from Lacey's writing.

Double Crossed is probably my favorite book so far in the Crossed series and I love them all! This is Annabelle Waters and Derek Fields story. This book really ties all the stories together. There's so much chemistry between Annabelle and Derek that it is coming off the pages.
Annabelle has made mistakes in her past and is keeping secrets. The secrets that have cost her dearly. She didn't know that a man could bring out feelings like she feels when she's around Derek. Derek can tell she's been hurt and wants to do everything in his power to take it away. But that's not as easy as it may seem. Derek too has a secret that he hasn't told anyone. Can these two share their secrets and find trust and healing?
You will not be able to put this book down. There's so much going on and many unexpected and emotional twists and turns. Get tissues ready because you will most definitely need them! I can't wait for Crossed Off, the final book in the series.

I LOVED this story! Annabelle held such a dark, secret life, and that is not even including her being kidnapped years ago by Huntz.
Derek was spectacular gentleman with such a dirty, hot mouth. He was fiercely loyal and devoted and did not even flinch when Annabelle shared her darkest secret.
The Twist- Woa!! Did not see that coming at all. That was such a great surprise!!
I am glad we got to share the past characters to, Emma and Eric and Blake and Missy. Everyone and Everything was tied in nicely together.

Lacey this book ticks all of the boxes, action/ sexy/ scary/ sad/ heartfelt.
This is book 3 of 4 and whilst it is very sad in parts. ( I was crying whilst reading, trying to continue to see how it ends as you want it to all be okay in the end.)
I felt it was well written and the character's were good and you could relate to them in part, people trying to juggle things to get on with their lives even whist struggling with personal issues etc.
The villains are different and there is a twist in this book I don't give spoilers as I think you should read the book to know what happens.
I have loved this series and read all of them in one sitting ( could not put them down).

This book just cemented for me why I love Lacey and her books so much. They are absolutely beautiful! While this was the most heartbreaking and gut wrenching book I've read by Lacey I still loved every single second of it. Annabelle and Derek were absolutely perfect character for me and I loved them dearly! The story line was extremely well written like all of Lacey's books are. All I can say is honestly if your a fan or not of Lacey's you will love this book.

This book is another amazing read by Lacey Silks. I loved that I was drawn in to the story from the first page and I found this book very hard to put down. I also loved how well the characters were developed. This is Derek and Annabelle's story. I can't wait to read the next book in this series.

I am excited and sad at the same time! Only one more book to go before it's all over! Very good story! So sad it ended the way it did tho! Can't wait to read the next one!
