Collin Suthers was a kingpin of the underground world. Dealing in all things illegal, he reveled in the depraved acts he committed. But that world is now gone, and in its place is a vicious hell. Being savage is the only way to survive, and a woman who can help alleviate the solitude and isolation that plague him is what he is now after.
Rebecca Shaw is a survivor, but when three men ambush her, she knows she can’t take them all on. Then a stranger shows up and takes them out with little effort. She wonders if this possessive side Collin shows toward her is more dangerous than the savage world itself.
Collin won’t leave Rebecca. He can’t. Even though the world isn’t safe any longer, when it comes to something he wants, he doesn’t give up until it’s his.
Collin Suthers was once the Kingpin of his empire. Sex, drugs and money were his livelihood. But with the end of civilisation, all that power is inconsequential.
"Starvation, death, rape, and being hunted by walking corpses was the world now, and the ones standing needed to be the strongest, having no remorse in trying to survive."
With the collapse of humanity, Collin has been holed up in his penthouse for the last 6 months. If he stays, he knows that death is imminent, so he leaves and heads for the countryside. As a born fighter, he is more than equipped to look after himself. But to survive he requires comfort. The kind that only a woman can provide him.
Rebecca Shaw has survived thus far. Months and months alone, scavenging for the essentials just to live. Keeping her head down, she is weary when she crosses paths with Collin. But he quickly proves that he’s no foe. Besides, she may need him just as much while navigating this new reality.
"She just wanted his presence to ease the loneliness, wanted his body to press against hers when she slept."
Raven’s Hell is the second book in the Savages/Savage World series but can be read as a standalone. Based in a post-apocalyptic world, you can expect hardship, fear, hope and of course lots of loving from these alpha men that need a strong woman by their side. I truly am a sucker for these stories! Lets just hope it doesn't become a reality...
Jenika snow is redoing some of her old work and I already read this series along ago and some things have been changed. And I gotta say this was fast pace end of the world type of book. With some steam.
Collin has to be still my favorite in this zombie filled series, he was a king pin in the world before now hes just a killer trying to stay alive and find someone to be his queen. He thought he had that in book 1 (he was tech the bad guy) but he knew he was wrong. So he's out killing and looking until he spots Rebecca in a small town gathering supplies and is attacked by random rapists. He won't let that happen even if he scares his girl he won't let anyone touch her. And thats how they start traveling together and its slowish but the tension is good.
No ow/om drama (unless you count those 3 guys) ,no cheating, drama, sexy times, no virgins

Book 2 in the Savages/Savage World series. This was released previously but has since been redone with new content and even though I didn’t read it the first time it was out, I was able to read it this time and I loved it just as much as the first in the series. You meet Collin in Sparrow’s Flight and I was hoping for his story. You could tell that he had a story to tell and this was his chance. Loved Collin and Rebecca. Once he saw her, he knew that she was his no matter what was happening in the world. Great chemistry between the couple. Great story and I can’t wait to read the final book in the series.
I read an early review copy of this book and I am voluntarily leaving an honest review.
This is an interesting book considering the whole COVID vaccination debate. IMHO it’s up to you what you put into your body, meaning no gov should have the authority to force a vaccine on anyone. Forget human rights, though, and think about the possible consequences concerning the survival of the human race. In the history of mankind, no pharmaceutical has ever been administered to the entire population, and we all know that there isn’t a pharmaceutical anywhere that hasn’t come forth with unknown long term side effects years after it hits the market. Given that knowledge, we’d be idiotic to force everyone of age vaccinate. What if a long term effect is cancer, heart disease, etc? We’d wipe out humanity. Anyhoo, this book is eerily along those lines…. But with zombies ;)
Believable World: ”It had been hailed worldwide as a magnificent accomplishment, one in which the scientists thought they had come across something monumental. They had, but what they brought to humans was a hell on earth. The ones who had gotten the vaccine started exhibiting signs of cannibalism and necrosis.””They thought they were helping people, curing something as devastating as cancer. They had been wrong.”
Visual: This author does a great job in writing the scenes to be vivid, pulling the reader in, without going into so much detail that the character’ movements and thoughts get lost.
MMC: Interesting. Before the end, he was an underground kingpin. Few morals. Little honor. After the end, he remained ‘every man for himself,’ but his inner thoughts seemed to be more, not less contemplative in some ways. When it came to the FMC, his mindset was gentleman caveman - a conundrum, but kinda cute in delivery.
FMC: Not as interesting. Not sure how she survived. She’s not dumb by any means, but her background simply lacks the skills to have survived this long in an apocalyptic situation alone. Personality, decisions, etc are all kind of bland - nothing good nor bad.
Some minor holes, or hiccups, within the story….
”There had been some semifresh human tracks that he had seen when they stopped, and knowing that someone could be lurking out there, waiting for Collin to put his guard down, had him doing the opposite.” <<< No explanation on how he could tell that the track was human verses zombie.
His chest is hairless. Does he shave in the apocalypse?
Romance: It’s not insta-love, but it’s also not purely opportunistic. It’s about being lonely and simply not having the social barriers that typically define or standardize intimacy, affection, companionship, etc. While sex is a forethought for both characters, it’s realistic in that they wait for the right time … not one of these screw while zombies knock down the door kinda things.
HEA: The book itself only takes place over a couple days. The epilogue(s) give a glimpse into the future by several months and then years. It’s happy given the circumstances, but the world doesn’t change.
Action: There’s a little, but this is mostly a very short story (113 pages) to get you from the characters meeting to their HEA. For the length, the author does a good job ensuring this is more than smut.
Bottom Line: Quick, easy read without any major issues. Satisfying, but it’s not thrilling. The progression from companionship to love takes place in the epilogues, which is mostly tidy, but the end feels like tell verses show. The author shows you the start of the romance, but she def tells you the end of it. I’d have preferred more action and a longer timeline spent in the actual book. Given no medical care, I’d have also liked to have a more satisfying conclusion on the epilogue contents. For this niche, I’ll give it 3 stars.
This is book two and it is a book that had been previously published. It’s been updated. Collin was not a good man,but with the changing of society,he’s trying to be better. We got a glimpse of him in the previous book. Once he meets Rebecca,he’s done! Again, some pretty gruesome stuff, but fitting for the story. HEA.
OMG!! I didn’t think the stories in the series could get any more intense but I was wrong!! Collin and Rebecca’s relationship is super intense because Collin is still a bad man and kills, steals and doing anything and everything to survive. He meets to Rebecca and he has to have her because he’s tired of doing it alone. He feels the need to protect her and possess her. Their chemistry is off the charts hot but will they fizzle out or burn brightly?
I enjoyed book one of this gritty series but I liked this one even better. There was just something about these characters and the dynamic between them and the world they inhabit that really drew me in. The base storyline of this series is engaging and considering the times we are living in almost too close for comfort. It is all to easy to imagine this book/series plot as painfully plausible. Collin may not start out as a good guy but I found him immensely appealing. I found all that fierceness and focus to be simply yummy! It was interesting to see this man that had been on top of the criminal world be placed into an even more deadly and dangerous world. This change certainly shakes up his priorities. Rebecca is in many ways his exact opposite. She was sweet and very likable but she also had a strong backbone and a tenacity to her that served her well. All together a very entertaining and exciting read. I am posting a frank, freely posted review.
Story: 🌟 4/5 Spice level - 🌶🌶🌶🌶/5 Re-read/re-listen: Yep! Totally Recommend: Yes Trope: Touch her and die vibes, forced proximity, dooms day
Story:
I really liked this story. It was quick, fast passed. I had it read in a few hours and immediately went to read the last book. Much like like the first book. It was an easy novella. This one was following Collin and Rebecca. There again was instant connection and the need to protect one another. You can read these as a stand alone. They are based in the same world. But aside from the brief interaction he had with Sparrow in the first book. They do not cross paths again. This is simply a couple, new love and connection, and how they plan to navigate this new world Again, I loved the fast-paced, short, and sweet story. It was different from what inread. I like the dooms day element to it.
The fight for survival continues in this story with Collin. I was intrigued in the first book by him and it’s amazing getting to see his side and how he ended up where he is after the infection. Him and Rebecca are amazing together and I love that they develop this relationship and trust before it turns physical. They really do complete each other and I just about devoured this in one sitting. It’s a whole new world where you have to look out for yourself but having someone there to help makes it all the better.
I stand by my thinking that Jenika snow is one f the most amazing authors I’ve ever read, her vision and writing skill is beyond anything I could ever imagine.
Collin thought he’d found his companion for the new world he’d found himself in when he met Sparrow, but when he sees Rebecca he knows he did the right thing letting her go, because to him Rebecca is everything and he’s going to prove it to her.
A little dark, suspense and characters you’ll love and want to find the happily ever after they deserve in a world where danger lurks everywhere.
We get Collin's story now and it was worth the wait. On his was way to strive, he finds Rebecca who is opposite. Sparks fly as they try to find their place in this desolate world! Collin was a bad man but with Rebecca around, he is not as bad as he (or I) thought. This was a great book and I can't wait for the next one!
I received a free e-book copy of this book and am voluntarily leaving an honest review.
Colin and Rebecca’s story was super intense. Collin was and still is a bad man, killing, stealing and surviving but he’s tired of being alone. When he finds Rebecca he is instantly drawn to protect her and make her his. Their relationship is fiery, chemistry off the charts with a little bit of sweet thrown in. I loved this second book in the Savage World series and am soo ready for the last one. I received this book as an advanced reader copy in exchange for an honest review.
Loved this book. Rebecca and Collin are trying to survive how thier world is now. The undead is always roaming and the living is scarce. Collin is a bad man. Head of a drug ring and guilty of murders, he's still a bad man even when the world is different and he needs everything he used to be to survive. I love him. He's fierce and protective. And he loves Rebecca with everything he is. These two are a great pair. Both trying to survive all while loving each other.
Raven's Hell is a great mix of end of the current world and underground gang/mafia story. The story has on the darker side, or at least there are a few triggers for some readers but this only (in my opinion) makes the story that much more believable. I really enjoyed the tension between the characters and the outcome of the story. It is a standalone and I think an enjoyable one at that. recommended.
I wasn't sure where this book was going at times but I really enjoyed the journey. Collin may have thought that he a not a good man but he proved that wrong in the end. I was so happy that he Rebecca the loved their happy ending!
Before the apocalypse Collin crime lord in New York City. Now he just tries to make it one day at a time. But he's lonely. When he spies Rebecca scavenging for supplies he's instantly attracted. He rescues her from attack and they join forces. Now to win her over.
This was quick read packed full of action. Collin is ruthless and cold, he ran illegal business and killed people. Rebecca needs saving and Collin steps in. Instantly these two band together to survive. A very good read.
Colin may have been a bad person before the world went to sh*t but it was those skills that kept him alive. Rebecca was barely making it when Colin came to her rescue. Two lonely survivors finding love in the fall of civilization. Looking forward to the last book.
Wow, this book was kinda hard to read, Armageddon. But after, they found each other...well, you should read it if it sounds good to you. The strength of determination...👍😍
I have not read many apocalyptic stories, but this story is surely at the top of my list. Raven’s Hell is only the second in the Savages series and you do not need to have read the first one to catch on as to what is going on, though there is a mention or two of the characters from the previous story.
The story had me hooked right from the beginning, we meet Rebecca and Collin and how they’ve managed to survive being in a world with the undead roaming around basically trying to get to you. Having to scavenge for bare necessities is the way of life now. Something clicks though when these two meet and they find how much they have been craving the feel of someone’s touch or being able to have a normal conversation. They forge a companionship and look out for each other while fulfilling each other’s needs.
Highly recommended story, great chemistry between the characters, the storyline just got better and better.
I remember just kind of liking the book before this one, but I completely was taken by the our hero and was so happy he got his own book!!!!!
Collin was a bad man, a criminal who peddled of sorts of illegal manner, and he was in charge of it all. In this new world, his skills help him evaluate situations quickly and make good decisions to stay alive
Once he has found the lady he wants, and she wants him, there is only the matter of keeping them safe and finding a place they can stay relatively safe. This is a world overrun by zombies, so any safety can be shattered rather quickly.
There was a lot of story here, and not a bunch of sex. Really, the book is ending before we get a really sexy scene. Trouble is, the story was so good, that didn't really occur to me until I was done
Insta-love in a dangerous time, with a whole heaping side of survival of the fittest and bang - HEA!!
So this is another of Jenika Snow's books that I read when it first came out. We got a peek at Collin in the first book, Sparrow's Flight, and I knew I wanted to read his story. Collin starts out a bad man but when the collapse of the world happens and he's lost everything, he knows he has to leave to stay alive. Humans have become either infected and are basically walking dead or they've turned into animals. When he runs across Rebecca, he knows she is his, even though she doesn't know it.....yet! Together they forge ahead to find a safe place and along the way feelings develop between them. Will they find a safe place? The story has been cleaned up and new content added. I really, enjoyed this newer version.
God, I loved this book! I've wanted Collins book ever since he became the anti-hero in Sparrow's story. I don't normally read post-apocalyptic books but I knew going in that Jenika Snow could make any story work. I was not disappointed! It had everything I wanted. A sexy story, hero and heroine that are so damn perfect for each other and the best part an HEA! The ending had me believing that above else they would be okay. That's hard especially with the world as they know it. I can't say much bc I don't want to ruin the story but this is an absolute must read! Jenika you rock!! I swear everything you write is amazing!!
Wow!! This book is amazing!! She is sweet, but she is not afraid to defend herself. He is though, and will do anything to have her and protect her! What else can I say? And the most shocking part of the book to me was when that little kid showed up and he had to killed it! And the most wtf... part of the book was the frail and old guy snapping pictures of them! o_O I recommend this book for those who like zombies, hot male characters and learning how to love!!
