ONCE A UPON A TIME ... THEY LIVED HAPPILY EVER AFTER ...

THE LOVE OF A HEART PURE WILL QUELL THE LONELY FATE OF THE SNOW QUEEN'S SPELL ...

When Boston-bred Hetty Malone arrived at the Colorado Springs train station, she was full of hope that she would soon marry her childhood sweetheart and live happily ever after. Yet life amid the ice-capped Rockies had changed Michael Ryan. No longer the hot-blooded suitor Hetty remembered, the young doctor had grown as cold and distant as the snowy mountain peaks. Determined to revive Michael's passionate longing, Hetty quickly realized that no modern medicine could cure what ailed him. But in the enchanted splendor of her new home, she dared to administer the only remedy that might melt his frozen heart: a dose of good old-fashioned loving.

I feel totally overwhelmed by the sweetness, charm and sensuality of "The Snow Queen" which would have been loosely inspired by H.C Andersen`s fairy tale"The Snow Queen".Only in this book its the very lovely and stubborn heroine Hetty Malone who struggles to melt the growing ice in her fiance`s heart, the driven doctor Michael Ryan who strives to find a cure for the deadly tuberculosis in the late 1800s.

Anne Avery writes with wit and humor and creates characters you will remember for all time.Michael and Hetty are childhood sweethearts that have loved each other all their lives.I loved them as both friends and lovers. How connected they were throughout all the pain and suffering of all the deaths. As a young innocent man Michael yearned to be a doctor and save lives and leaves for Colorado Springs to get a job and assist a professional doctor, planning to take Hetty with him after a few months. But those months turns to 2 years where Michael`s employer dies and he inherits everything he own and also Hetty`s mother gets more sick so they are unable to travel. The 2 year separation was painful for both. While Hetty eventually loses her mother Michael have become so destructive at the failure of saving many of his patients and despised himself over it that he forgot that there is limits to medical knowledge. But when he finally reunites with Hetty she can`t understand the cold bitter man he has become.Only she can make him forget his demons and the sorrow of so much sickness and deaths around him with her love, laughter and beauty.Hetty and Michael only have each other,so attuned were they with each other that i swooned at their every scene.Even in anger there was so much chemistry between them and when they cried..i cried with them. Its only gets better that both are virgins, ahh how i sighed at that.I also love the scenes where Hetty tries to seduce him and make him mad with lust-ahh how she succeeds!!
