Devilish #5

Unwanted

Rate this book
Two entities have Fen on their radar. He only knows about one. That’s a blindness that might get him killed.

After Fen’s abduction, Celeste wiped his memory. He has no idea what happened to him after Jörmungandr snatched him in the middle of his shift, guarding the town’s healer. But a beautiful voice keeps caressing his mind, demanding Fen do things he doesn’t even understand. All he knows is the flawless wolf he can’t shake makes the voice go away. Fen has his sights on a gorgeous unmated wolf, Kyrie. He has no clue if he can win Kyrie or if he should bother while his head is such a mess. It’s possible his time as a prisoner broke his mind. He has a bad feeling the hallucinations are real. Fen has an even worse suspicion that truth might break him.

Kyrie has… secrets, to say the least. He also has a problem with occasionally dropping dead. He’s working on both. The last thing he needs is a sexy Scottish vamp in his life. That doesn’t mean he doesn’t want him. Kyrie simply needs a miracle if he hopes to keep him. Surely, that’s not too much to ask, especially when he has an open line straight to the Gods. Well, one God, and it’s destroying his life.

Unwanted is the fifth book in Charity Parkerson’s Devilish series where vampires, Weres, demons, gods, and all manner of the supernatural live together beneath the noses of humankind. These books are best when read in order.

Fen is missing huge pieces of his memory after being abducted, and the haunting voice in his mind makes him fear he’s losing his grip on reality. The only thing that brings him peace is Kyrie, the flawless wolf he can’t stop wanting — even though he has no idea the danger closing in on him. Kyrie, meanwhile, is juggling deadly secrets, a habit of occasionally dropping dead, and the interference of a God who keeps wrecking his life. The last thing he needs is a tempting Scottish vampire… but Fen is impossible to resist. With two powerful forces targeting Fen, their connection might be the only thing that can save him — if the truth doesn’t break them first.

I loved this instalment that delivered an intense, emotional punch as Fen and Kyrie’s connection becomes the heart of the story. Their love is immediate, instinctive, and impossible to ignore — the kind of bond that feels carved into their souls long before either of them understood why. Every moment between them carried that electric mix of longing, comfort, and inevitability. But what makes their romance so gripping is how fiercely it’s tested. Fen is haunted by missing memories and a dangerous voice in his mind, while Kyrie is battling secrets, death itself, and the interference of a God who won’t leave him alone. The threats circling them are real, escalating, and deeply personal, turning their love into both a refuge and a risk. Watching them fight for each other — even when the truth could break them — is what gives the story its emotional weight. A dark, tender, high‑stakes romance where love refuses to back down, no matter how dangerous the world becomes. This was an MM story with mature content.
