This is a complete series that is available on Amazon. It consists of three parts. I’m not sure if the parts are available for sale individually in other book stores or not. As the title suggests, this is the story of a dominant man called Landon and his new submissive husband, Cole. Landon is Cole’s stepdad and there is an age gap between the two. Cole is a nineteen-year-old guy who is described as too pretty and too dumb! Besides obedience, these are some features Alpha men love in their submissive boys.
When Landon finds his stepson having sex with another man, he punishes him in his own way. That is when the domination starts. Soon after having it his own way with Cole, Landon realizes that the best option for him is to get married and have Cole as his inferior husband who would take care of all his needs and desires. Landon opens up to the boy and tells him how he wants him and what he expects from him.
The first part sets all the relationship dynamics between the two characters. Sometimes Landon feels like the abusive alpha but I feel he was doing all that to set the line for his new submissive husband. To show him what he will get and what he expects from him. Maybe to some readers, Landon comes off as an alpha who is harsh more than necessary. The second part starts with a hot watersports scene showing how much their BDSM relationship has advanced. Though I am not sure of the exact time frame between the two parts. The second part went well until the melodrama of kidnapping for ransom happened. I feel that was a bit over the top and unnecessary. It changed the tone of the story.
In book three the tone changes as well. Landon becomes more compassionate and more into vanilla stuff. Cole on the other hand misses the selfish and brutish husband he used to have. So Cole confesses to his husband that he misses how he used to treat him and they go back to the old way. I liked the book. It has lots of BDSM and kinky sex scenes. Some story-related parts I think would’ve been better if were not there. At times the relationship itself and the sexual acts felt more with dubious consent. Now whether this is acceptable to you or not that I leave it to you to judge when you read the book.

Silly me. Reading all of these (it took about an hour to read the first three shorts) and thinking it would get better. Silly me, especially since I’d already read it all before. See, Keegan Kennedy’s The Substitute Wife - The Complete Series, published two years before this series, is pretty much the same story:
Stepdad separates from his wife but keeps her teenaged son. The young lad is wayward, gullible, very submissive, very susceptible to the daddy kink. He just needs a good firm, older hand to um, set him straight. Stepdad marries stepson and takes over his life. Random bad guy enters the picture causing some mini-havoc, putting young lad in danger. Stepdad comes to the rescue. True love prevails.
It’s straight up PWP— minimal character or world dev, lots of randy sex. And absolutely nothing wrong with that-- it serves a purpose, for when you're in a mood. But what cheezed me off was that it’s nothing new, it’s been done before.

Really short (around 500 kindle locations) and almost read like a teaser for the actual story but I enjoyed it. Landon bought a lot of kinky stuff at the sex shop that didn't get used yet, so I'm pretty tempted to order the next two installments to see if those feature in scenes, especially the bondage sleep sack. Cole is really passive and accepting, to the point of being slightly unrealistic, but I did find their scenes hot.
One other thing that bothered me is that the author mixed up his MCs names a couple of times. Cole became Landon and Landon became Cole. Took me out of the moment.

Loved this book. D. J. Heart writes a mean kinky story. His Doms are so powerful and cruel, but with a caring side so you just love them. I’ve grown to appreciate his style more and more with each book.

Definitely not a flowery romance. Landon is a demanding Dom, but Cole is an eager sub who enjoys submitting to Landon. There is . I liked this story, but I didn't feel the connection between the MCs as much as I have with this author's other books.

A series of heated Male domination of a male sub (Mdom/m) scenes that touch on a range of BDSM techniques/practices/themes. It mixes semi-realistic BDSM (e.g. safewords, role of Dom as ultimate guide/protector while being a sadist) with harder erotic fantasy (kidnapping, sub utterly powerless and unsafe).
The story and characters connecting the scenes were very uneven, veering from the uber-harsh Dominant, some play with just a bit of an edge, and sometimes the protective, paternalistic and caring Dom. While it's nice to see all of those threads together in one story/character arc, the flow seems to jump suddenly from one theme to another. Overall worth reading for a bit of Domination/submission between the main characters and some SM pain-focused play (mostly among other characters), with a big non-consensual diversion in the middle. However, it could have been better with more consistent characters and a bit of a more methodical building of desires/techniques/practices from beginning interest to later submission. Still, if you're in the mood for scenes that sometimes have a bit of an edge...

I know this book came with a warning and stuff but it still felt very rapey and just plain abusive at times. The relationship between Cole and Landon felt more like Stockholm syndrome because of the way their relationship formed. Cole was basically tricked into marriage and then he was repeatedly forced to do things he didn't like by being tortured mercilessly if he refused, oh but he liked it all in the end...yea no. I like rough BDSM but this just pushed it too far into the realm of unsafe, insane, and not even close to consensual for me.
I didn't feel right rating it below three stars because some of the scenes were really hot and the ones that weren't were based on my personal tastes, also the author does warn about some stuff. I didn't rate higher than three stars because there were a few errors and a few scenes where names were either swapped or just totally different which got confusing.

I think that this book turns what seems to be a very nice man who was looking for a submissive but turns into a very sadist bastard. Cole may have needed some guidance but what Landon does to him is beyond belief, the book would have been an wonderful read had it not been for the waterworks and the very last episode. Even thou Cole seems to have gotten use to what was dished out to him,

Intense
Warning... If you are the least bit squeamish or have any triggers do NOT read this book! It is brutal ! The story is hard core BDSM . Also note the editing is atrocious. Names are mixed up repeatedly to the point where I was so confused it became a major distraction and took me out of the story. So buyer beware this is not for the faint of heart!

Didn't work for me. I need emotion and reciprocity in my Daddy / M/s kink. I'm into nurturing, loving Daddies/Masters, not douchebag Doms who are out for their own selfish pleasure. Even though this eventually changes, and it's shown that Cole likes the way Landon treats him, it's too late for me. The foundation had already been laid in Book 1 and I just quickly read/ skimmed Books 2 and 3. Again, this may very well work for other people who are into training and strict M/s relationships. It's just not my thing. I also found that there was no depth to the characters. Everything felt very surface-y. This is kind of pseudo Daddy kink in the sense that yes, Landon is his stepdad, but they're not Daddy/boy..he calls him 'Sir'. Booooo. LOL
This was a very similar read to The Substitute Wife - The Complete Series, which I enjoyed much more. He is very much a strict Dom, who likes what he likes, and expects to be obeyed, but there isn't all this emphasis on training and toys; it's much more personal. He is also loving and kind and I loved him and his boy together.

It is ok. There is sexual content in this book but some of it I didn't like. I understand that it is a bdsm book but some scenes were just too much for me. The characters are slowly getting developed which makes sense because it is a serial and this is only book 1. I have read this author's work before and liked it but I won't be finishing this serial.

Good but predictable on who takes Cole. Worth the money just to read to read that Landon rethinks some things for him and Cole. Thief not caught with other couple , looking forward to book three.

Landon is such h a hard charter to like. One min I'm enjoying him and the next thinking he is an abusive Dom. But that Cole can enjoy such treatment makes reading the story better. Waiting patiently for the next book!

Great story
Story getting much better in my view. Still not too keen on the "water" play. Mad that Cole's kidnapper got away. Can't wit to read the next story!
