Matsuri Hino was born on January 24 in Hokkaido. She was a bookshop keeper who one day decided to become a manga artist, and all of nine months later, in 1995, she published her first manga title, Kono Yume ga Sametara (When This Dream Is Over), in Japan's LaLa DX magazine.
O quizás 2.5 🌟 con este maga siempre tengo sentimientos encontrados. Y sí hasta el final Yuki nunca mereció a Zero. Por cierto la historia de Sayori con Aido me pareció linda.
Beautiful! Simply Beautiful. I was wondering that they should explain more about what happened afterwards. This chapter did explained. I just love everything about it. And I was crying so much with Happy tears. It was a happy and satisfying ending. With lots of humor. I will miss all my time spent with the vampires.(Although what I'd want most is a loooong chapter of Haruka and Juri). Oh well, Good Bye vampire knights, I will always remember you in my heart.
Synopsis: Yuki Cross has no memory of her past prior to the moment she was saved from a vampire attack ten years ago. She was adopted by the headmaster of Cross Academy, and now works alongside Zero to guard the Academy's secret. Cross Academy is attended by two groups of students: the Day Class and the Night Class. At twilight, when the students of the Day Class return to their dorm, they cross paths with the Night Class on their way to school. Yuki Cross and Zero Kiryu are the Guardians of the school, protecting the Day Class from the Academy's dark secret: the Night Class is full of vampires.
Review: The opening chapters are little cliche, but the story quickly builds up to a rapid spiral of drama, psychological trauma and vampiric romance that isn't overly lovey-dovey. Yuki is the protagonist, but there's not much to like about her. The driving forces of the series are Yuki's two love interests. The tragic backstory of Zero and his desire for vengeance against a powerful vampire, and the alluring mystery of Kaname and his strange obsession with Yuki carry the plot. Zero and Kaname develop a bit of a rivalry for Yuki's attention that ends up leading to some pretty dramatic stakes and tension.
There are a lot of characters in this series, but only a small handful of them are actually engaging and memorable. Out of the 35 or so characters, only 5 or 6 of them carry the plot on their shoulders; some of which don't even stick around very long. Zero and Kaname are the stars of the show but the story grows rather dull when they're not around. Ichiru and Shizuka were cool but they only made a few appearances.
There is a pretty wicked climax in the middle of the series that really drew me in, but the rest of the series fails to live up to what that climax set up. The characters become less interesting, the plot falls apart and struggles to find a proper pacing and purpose. I really liked the first half of the series, the second half was just passable in my opinion.

The story was unique and interesting, the art was pretty well done. However, I found the main characters of both Yuki and Kaname to be dull and difficult to relate with. Yuki felt generally weak and pliable to the whims of Kaname, a controlling, and in my opinion, sexist vampire.
Vampire Knight was an fun and interesting series, for what it is. It you are willing to overlook its flaws, it can be good fun. I had originally read this series years ago when some old friends of mine were really into it. To be honest, this series is a much lighter read compared to most of the other manga series I usually delve into. However it was a decent series, full of fantasy, romance and mystery. Worth giving a try.
There was no doubt that I would be picking this up, and I’m glad they released it. It clears up some things about Yuki and Zero’s relationship after the end of the manga.
It starred a surprising amount of Yori, which I liked, as well as some surprising hints of romance. Mostly, though, the conclusion it gave for Yuki’s relationships with Kaname and Zero was very needed. Yuki’s sorrow of what happened with Kaname was expressed sweetly, as well as Zero’s over Yuki. Also, it was very pretty, of course.
This little chapter is more than worth picking up, if you read the rest of the manga and want to know what happens next for them. It clears up some things, and is a worthwhile, sweet conclusion.
The first chapter was a bit slow. I thought it was going to be about Yuki and Zero. Instead 90% was about Yori until Yuki ran in with Kaname's baby and then Zero said he wanted to treasure time with her.
The second chapter was more entertaining and kept me hooked for longer. I really enjoyed reading about Yuri's relationship with Aido.
I didn't like the other two chapters. They were super slow and it frustrated me that Yuki just said Zero tried to save a stranger and that's how he died. The fact we didn't get to see it was annoying.
40 page short story that answers a few questions fans had at the end of the Vampire Knight series. There is no way to make everyone happy, but Ms. Hino certainly tries. I was very satisfied with this ending. Though manga is not my genre of choice, I did come to care about these characters a great deal and that is saying a lot. Wish I could get my hands on the other short stories but, alas, are not available in the North American market. Hoping they will also continue the anime TV series at some point, since that is what got me hooked into this manga in the first place.
I really liked this little 44 page kindle book. To be honest, I wish it was longer, but I'll just have to wait until the new series of this franchise comes out. I was hoping we would have a bit more information on the life of Yuki and Zero in this book, but I'm not disappointed with what I did read. Looking forward to reading about the future of the series!
This was an adorable little digital exclusive from the Vampire Knight series that I read so long ago, and I loved it. It was nice to slip back into that world for a moment.
I thought this was a Yuuki and Zero chapter. I thought wrong. I ship them so hard and this seemed like Yuuki ended up with him because Kaname wasn't in the picture eben though the "you love me" thing Zero says to Yuuki.
Really enjoyed the manga as it had a new outlook for the vampire aspect of the fantasy genre where ironically portrays the human in them. Beautiful and enjoyed it very much .
