Noël Burch is Professor Emeritus of Film Studies at the University Charles de Gaulle in Lille. His book Theory of Film Practice is widely regarded as one of the key works of Western film criticism.
A thorough book about what´s on the deepest layer and essence of cinema as an art, but also as a tool reinventing itself day by day. I enjoyed the practical examples and all the movies the author mentions. It´s a good beginning point in order to learn more about the cinema´s structure.
Sepan disculparlo.
