I thought werewolves were fiction. Steamy fantasy material meant to entertain, not exist.
But that belief shatters the night I stumble into an alley and see something I can’t explain—something impossible.
Now everything I know is a lie. Supernaturals are real. And one of them is hunting me… or maybe he’s protecting me. I can’t tell the difference when he looks at me like I already belong to him.
He says I’m his mate. But in this world, fated mates aren’t supposed to exist.
Still, the pull between us is primal. Addictive. And when he’s near, I ache for something I don’t understand. Everything about him challenges the life I’ve built and the rules I’ve lived by.
I was a book editor who preferred calm over chaos. But now I’m being dragged into a hidden war brewing in the shadows of Chicago—a war tied to a deadly supernatural drug called Moon Flower that’s killing without mercy. And somehow, I’m connected to all of it.
The deeper I fall into this world, the more dangerous it becomes. Because claiming me might start a war. And resisting him might be impossible.
a very good interesting but complex story featuring Clarissa a woman raised human who has no idea she's anything else and her wolf shifter mate Antonio a wolf who had given up on ever finding the mate he was desperate to have. clarissa doesn't feel the mate bond like he does so he must go slow and try to woo her carefully while also forcing her into staying at his compound as his mate taking her choices away from her which angers her and pushes her farther away from accepting her place as his luna. she refuses the mate bond which upsets antonio because he can't understand how she doesn't feel the need to be together. he tries to understand he has blown her world apart and that she doesn't understand whats happening to her life, but meanwhile evil forces are at work trying to get their hands on her because she is different not just a wolf shifter. the pack doctor does tests and discovers information which only complicates things and puts her in more danger meanwhile antonio's ex crashes back in trying to force herself as luna when she's not wanted. clarissa responds with fury and by mate marking him the alpha in a partial shift showing she is more than ordinary. treachery is everywhere, betrayal happens, the council is breaking laws behind closed doors, and her long lost father isn't the person she thinks. can they find their way to each other and accepting the mate bond? will the council get their hands on her for their own evil plans? and what happens when someone as close as family betrays everyone even the moon goddess herself to get what he wants no matter the cost? well written, multiple plot twists, a complicated plot which keeps u guessing, thrills, excitement and emotional upheaval.

Chicago Alpha is a story about an Alpha that rules Chicago, but what it doesn't say is the love, fighting, killing and working things out are part of the solution. Clarissa works for a publishing company owned by Brantley. She takes the line to go home and walks the last few blocks home. But what does she not know? So many things.

This book is full or twists and turns and the unexpected. I think the romance is good and I like the way the MMC is patient. As a reader you follow the FMC and the discoveries she makes and betrayals in her life. This is a good read and very enjoyable.
