Now free from the bondage of Hell, Satan had made it to Earth. The Devil began to live out her plans by kidnapping licensed behavioral therapist Michael Wheeler from his own place of work. News of the captivity had forced his friends and allies to save him. The Time Guardian Kenan Johnston, the time angel Kafziel, the time demon Tariq, the time demon Astaroth, the nephilim Byleth, the legion Gordon Stone, the former demon of lust Asmodeus, the half demon Sophia Reyes, the esper Patricia Blackburn, the alien princess Etsilla, the demon swordsman Jonathan, the plunder witch Natalie Garcia, the elemental witch Sage Kobayashi, the time witch Faith Thompson, the flight witch Zoe Jones and the manifestation witch Helena Carver stood shoulder to shoulder ready to thwart Satan's wrath at the roof of the Prudential Tower in Downtown Boston, Massachusetts. Failure to reason with one another forced both sides to fight. Who will be victorious? What caused Satan to want to come to Earth in the first place? Find out in this dramatic tale of The Otherkind.
The author’s imagination shines through every scene from Satan’s chilling arrival on Earth to the intense rooftop showdown atop the Prudential Tower. The diverse cast of angels, demons, witches, and other mystical beings creates a rich, cinematic world that feels alive and unpredictable. Each character has purpose, and the balance between good and evil is constantly tested in ways that make you question what “right” and “wrong” truly mean.
I’ve read a lot of supernatural stories but this one felt fresh. The combination of fantasy, theology, and straight-up action is unique. It’s dark in some places but also has this sense of hope that balances it out. Really enjoyed it.

This book is unapologetically ambitious. The cast is massive, the action is non stop, and the stakes are literally apocalyptic. The opening chapters set the tone immediately the Devil is on Earth, Michael Wheeler is in danger, and there’s no time to waste. I loved the interplay between such vastly different supernatural beings, especially when tensions flared among allies. The climactic rooftop battle was written with a strong visual sense, like a scene from a well choreographed action film. If you like supernatural fiction that goes big, this is a solid pick.
I'd never read any "fantasy" genre books before so I thought I'd give one a go. I was pleasantly surprised. I very much went into it with an open mind, and found it quite absorbing for a short story. The characters seemd quite colourful, and I was impressed by the amount of detail I got to learn about the indivdual characters.
I don't want to give any plot away, so I will say the well known central character was really intriguing. The way the author gethers his clan of hopeful warriors is really good.
A small criticism.. the paragraphs tend to be quite long, leaving me with little space to breathe and recap.
I'd love to see this book turned into a comic book in the future. I think some of the characters would be visually stunning.
This story reads like a movie in my head. The battle on the rooftop of the Prudential Tower was so vivid I could almost see it happening. I also loved how every character brought something unique to the fight. Definitely a thrilling start to the series.
Satan as a female character was such a bold twist, and honestly, it worked perfectly here. The tension between her and the group kept the story moving fast. I love when a book surprises me like that. This one did it over and over again.
What really stood out to me is how many different characters were introduced, yet I didn’t feel lost. Each one had a role to play and I found myself caring about all of them. It’s like an epic supernatural saga unfolding right in front of me.
The pacing is excellent. Every chapter left me wanting more, and by the time the big battle came, I couldn’t put it down. The action scenes are written so vividly, it almost felt like watching a show. Absolutely worth the read.
I wasn’t sure how angels, demons, witches, and even an alien princess could all fit in one story, but the author made it work. It was imaginative, fun, and intense. This book is packed with creativity and big moments.
The question of why Satan came to Earth was always in the back of my mind as I read. I love how the mystery drives the plot forward. By the end, I felt both satisfied and ready for more. That’s the sign of a good series starter.
This book is like a mashup of myth, fantasy, and action, and I loved every second of it. The stakes are high, the battles are epic, and the characters are memorable. It really feels like the beginning of something huge.
Jonathan Spain-Collins knows how to keep a reader hooked. The story flows smoothly, the dialogue feels natural, and the drama kept me flipping pages late into the night. I’ll be looking out for the sequel without a doubt.
I didn’t expect to fall into such a wild blend of fantasy, theology, and pure adrenaline. The showdown at the Prudential Tower felt straight out of a blockbuster. Every page screams “imagination unleashed.
At first I was confused by the massive cast, but soon I was hooked. Each character adds a different spark, and the energy never lets up. It’s chaotic in all the right ways.
This isn’t your average good vs evil story, it’s layered and thought provoking. I loved how the supernatural elements felt both epic and intimate. The emotional core caught me off guard.
There’s something cinematic about the way this story unfolds. Every confrontation feels earned, every twist hits hard. I kept picturing the entire thing on screen.
