Elias Bristol. Vincenzo Ricci. Gannon Hayes.

Three vampires with one goal in mind: me..

I’ve dedicated the year since my father’s death to learning how to slay vampires. Specifically, the monster who could have saved him but didn’t. With one of their own training me, I might stand half a chance.

But each training class with Vinny brings us closer together, and things go from complicated to what the actual f*ck when my ex shows up after ghosting me after my father’s funeral and, sure enough, Gannon is now a vampire—with a newfound thirst for my blood.

And sure, two vamps are a lot to handle, but when the vampire king returns and I fail to kill him even after months of training, my love triangle becomes a freaky foursome—and I’d be lying if I said I wasn’t enjoying myself thoroughly.

Thank you to author J. Jameson, Victory Editing, and NetGalley for a copy of the e-ARC in exchange for a review. As always, my honest thoughts and opinions are directly below.

–––––––––––––––––––––––––––––––––––––––

This book follows our FMC, Jacqueline Fiorino, who hired a vampire named Vinny Ricci to help train her to take down the vampire king Elias Bristol after the death of her father. What she doesn't tell Vinny is that she wants to take down the vampire king, though she doesn't know Eli is the king.

What Vinny doesn't tell Jackie is that he fell in love with her the moment she stepped into his gym and that's the only reason he agreed to train her, even though he knew from the beginning that she wouldn't win against any vampire, let alone the king.

What neither of them was anticipating is that Gannon, Jackie's ex-boyfriend, reappears in her life and is now a turned vampire. That is the only reason he stayed away for the past year, and the guilt is now tearing him apart. How will Jackie handle 3 vampires who all want a piece of Jackie's heart?

–––––––––––––––––––––––––––––––––––––––

I wasn't expecting to enjoy this book as much as I have. I'm not a fan of True Blood and, when this book was marketed as the reverse harem version of True Blood, I wasn't sure if I'd enjoy the book. I ended up enjoying it far more than I anticipated.

I know exactly the grief Jacqueline experienced after the loss of her father, as I went through the same thing when my father passed in December 2015. I was expecting this to trigger me, like it did with the last book, but I was surprised to find that it didn't trigger me at all.

I'm still not sure what I think about Gannon, as he left Jackie when she needed him the most. I do like that he's groveling for her, as she deserves absolutely nothing less, but I'm not sure she should have let him back in as quickly as she did. That's just my opinion, though.

I'm also not sure what I think about Vinny right now, but I'm going to keep an open mind when the sequel becomes available to read. I'm looking forward to that sequel, by the way. I didn't realize I'd need it as much as I do but I'm okay with that now. lol

Elias is growing on me, which is a good thing, as I think he's going to become a major part of Jackie's life soon, whether either of them enjoy that thought or not. I have a feeling Vinny is going to have a major problem with it, though he promised her that he'd be there for her in the long haul.

All in all, yes, I do recommend this book. I couldn't recommend it more if I tried, actually. I can't wait for the sequel and would encourage everyone to go into this book with an open mind. I hope I enjoy the sequel as much as I enjoyed this book.

I read the tropes and I loved the cover- hence why I dived right into this!

The first few chapters alone grabbed me by entirely and I loved it straight away. Emotional and so intriguing to see how the rest of the story would play out.

ABBB follows Jack and her journey for revenge and clarity. Picking up along the way, 2 vamps and a literal king who all want and crave her. She is unique, feisty, stubborn and proud- all in the best way possible a female could be!! Who could blame them, seriously?

The intimacy was beautifully done and a lot of passages that I loved! The spice is spicy alright, and I feel it is quite fast paced compared to the gritty storyline unfolding outside of the romance. I definitely need more of that storyline!! I’m definitely intrigued to see what comes next in this series and how the characters each evolve going forward.
-That ending definitely did not satiate me. We need answers.

ARC and Reread: 4 🌟

I originally read the previously released two separate books: the Butcher's Daughter and a Bond Beyond Blood. I really enjoyed the second time around and still loved the characters.

Its a paranormal RH romance with Jack, Vinny, Gannon, and Elias. I really enjoyed the pacing and storyline. And can't wait to read the next one.

Thank you, NetGalley, Victory Editing, and J. Jameson, for sending this eARC for review. All opinions are my own.

This book was so captivating! I couldn't put it down! It was so in depth, I was able to visualize the whole book. I can't wait for #2.The characters don't remind me of the typical vampire stories and I am so sad that it’s ended! The spice was perfect and I still can't get over the details, even when describing the simple things!

Thank you to J. Jameson for the ARC and the opportunity to review the novel ahead of its release!

I’ll preface this by saying I’m not usually a contemporary fantasy/vampire type of girl. So, going into this book I tried to keep an open mind. Overall, I was pleasantly surprised at how much I enjoyed the premise!

The opening scene in this novel captured my attention right away. It was raw with emotion and left me intrigued to read more. From there I found myself reading for hours without realizing (which is how you know you’re reading something you like). Throughout the story, there were scenes that stood out to me, especially ones that explored romantic/sexual tension.

I usually enjoy more of a buildup (a slow burn romance if you will), and I found that aspect lacking in her relationship with Gannon and Vinny. However, I think it points to the contrast in her relationship with her two boyfriends versus with Elias.

The spice was also enjoyable! It was always interesting and fresh (which can be hard to do). I do think it took a priority to some of the plot development. But hey, I’m not complaining.

One aspect I do think could use further development is a stronger introduction to the environment of the book. Specifically a deeper dive into the ~lore~ of why vampires and humans coexist in this world. It was confusing at the start whether Jack was aware vampires existed prior to her dad confessing the blood bond. Maybe that’s coming in future novels. If that’s the case, little hints—especially at the start—could have gone a long way!

The last couple chapters really left me excited for the second book. I look forward to its release!

Coming from a high fantasy/romantasy girl, I absolutely think this book is worth the read! It has wit, romance, and action. What more could you ask for?

First and foremost, thank you to J. Jameson and NetGalley for letting me read this e-ARC!

O. M. G. Vampires, a badass FMC, a redemption ARC, a sweetheart of a MMC, a reverse harem, and the steamiest open door scenes? Girl, I’m STILL fanning myself right now. This book has everything I love and it’s done so damn well. When I got to the end of the book I was so upset because I was like “WHAT DO YOU MEAN THIS IS THE END, how is this the end, I NEED BOOK 2 YESTERDAY!!!!”

I did not expect the book hangover I have from this book right now. Jameson created fantastic characters you’re really able to invest in and grow to love and appreciate. And I’m just gonna say right now, I’m #TeamVinny and I sincerely hope that man gets a loving redemption in the next book because I felt so bad for him with the way things ended here. I sped through this and cannot get enough of these characters and I am so excited for Book 2. Five star read from me :)

🌶️Spice: 3/5 (some of the best spice I’ve read in a long time)

The pacing of the first 10-ish percent was a bit hard to get into for me, but afterwards I absolutely enjoyed everything about this book.
I mean, what not to love about three vampire boyfriends and a relatable fmc?
Let me introduce you to your next book boyfriends:
🦋Elias: eccentric vampire king (my fav.. if you liked Klaus from tvd you’re gonna love him)
❤️‍🩹Gannon: grovelling ex-boyfriend (I can’t explain why but he reminded me of Luc from Once Upon a Broken Heart)
🥊Vincenzo: protective & supportive bf (he trains her to kill vampires)

If you’re looking for a fast paced and character centric story this is the one for you.

1 Vamp is her ex and childhood best friend
1 Vamp is the King of all Vampires that hasn't been seen in centuries

They all want her ... to feed from, to be with, to love, to have.... what a problem to have 🤣

Gannon, Eli, Vinny
Groveling ex
Cocky king
Sweet Possessive trainer

All three have dirty mouths and are obsessed with the FMC
Rh Vamps you already know what you’re signing up for.
Eli is giving Klaus from TVD and I need more. The first 35% is a bit slow honestly but it heats up. Major jealousy between the three MMCs. Orgasm denial, claiming, banter, groveling, feeding, sharing is caring (but give me more), nursemaid MMC, “you’re mine”, “touch her and …”, “who did this to you”

Okay so this book was my first time reading why chose and paranormal, and I have to say I loved it.
Something about the writing of this author ALWAYS hooks me (like I can not stop thinking about the book whilst reading and long after reading).

My reaction to the ending was like “You’re really going to leave me hanging?”

But yeah I loved this.

A Bond Beyond Blood is the first book in The Butcher's Daughter series and is for anyone who loves vampires, spice, and paranormal romances! I was lucky enough to receive this eARC through NetGalley, and I highly recommend it! 😍

A Bond Beyond Blood is for all of you who love:
✨ Why choose & Reverse harem
✨ Enemies to lovers
✨ Multiple POVs
✨ Banter & pet names
✨ Touch her and die
✨ Perfect book boyfriend(s)
✨ Spice!
✨ Second chance love
✨ Political drama & Royals
✨ Cliffhangers

The language is easy and fluid, and each chapter is told from one character's point of view, so the multiple POVs work perfectly and give a special flow throughout the book. The chemistry between Jack and the three vamps is 🥵, and there are plenty of explicit graphic scenes! The story is dark, and the parallel plots only add extra intensity to the main plot.

I couldn't put this one down. I swiped away and was completely horrified when I reached the last page 😭 Just read it! You can thank me later.

Thank you, Jessalyn and NetGalley for the copy of this eARC. Opinions expressed in this review are completely my own.

"Everything has beauty, but not everyone sees it" - Confucius.

I couldn't have found a more appropriate quote for this love story... ❤️❤️❤️

Where do I even begin with this masterpiece? The gamut of emotions experienced and I was only halfway through... From tears to laughter to anger to disgust, to swooning over these delicious vampires, the rollercoaster continued all the way to the end. And when I tell you that ending was spectacular, bet your bottom dollar it was worth every second of angst...

I cannot wait for book two!!!

Thank you to Jessalyn Jameson and Net Galley for the privilege of this ARC, it was spectacular!

A Bond Beyond Blood
⭐️⭐️
This book was giving love triangle (love… square?) for the majority of the story, and it definitely had me feeling less into it. I didn’t like reading the men “competing over her” and tbh there was zero competition to me, the only one I was rooting for was Vinny. Would have liked to actually read a why choose or reverse harem rather than that just be how it all wrapped up. Rating for the spice, which was great, and for Vinny, otherwise wouldve been a DNF. I’m sure this makes sense for the trilogy, its just not for me.

Review:
I picked this up after seeing the cover on NetGalley and instantly knew I needed it. I read the blurb and was like… yeah, I’m already obsessed with it even tho I have never read vampire romances before!. Now that I’ve finished it, it’s easily one of my top reads of 2025.
This story grabbed me so incredibly fast. The dynamic between Jack and Vinny and Gannon is ... Hot 🥵 . Vinny is the overprotective “I will kill anyone and everyone for you” boyfriend. Gannon is trying so hard to win her back. And Elias is the arrogant, powerful one who knows exactly what he is doing. Every relationship felt distinct and addictive to follow. And Jack? She holds her ground like a queen and decided "why choose when I can have them all."
I was stressed and obsessed. The cliffhanger was brutal, I need book 2 immediately.
My favorite quote: “Trust me, pet. If I get on my knees for you right now, what happens next will make both of your boyfriends absolutely murderous.” 🥵🫠🫠🥵🫠
I absolutely recommend this book whether you’re new to vampire romance or already deep in the genre.

I honestly loved it. I was captivated with the entire story, so much so that I finished it in about 5 hours, I couldn't put it down. The details were so great I was able to visualize the whole book - it was my own little movie playing and I can't wait for #2. There are so many layers to the characters and they don't remind me of the typical vampire stories. I was not prepared for that ending (don't worry no spoilers) and was so sad it ended haha. The spice was perfect and I still can't get over the details, even when describing the simple things. Loved it.

A Bond Beyond Blood is two books that were rewritten, edited and put together into one by J. Jameson. It has several tropes in it and I can’t wait for book 2. If you liked Sookie Stackhouse, you will love this from the dedication stating “if you wanted Sookie to end up with Bill and Eric” to the main characters being a blonde haired, chiseled vampire who is such a sass and a previous heavy-weight champ who only wants what’s best for his girl. All of Jack’s men are vampires and obsessed with her. They are all protective and very “touch her and I’ll unalive you”. There is also her trying to balance the sassy asshole she shouldn’t want, the ex-boyfriend who’s been her best friend since they were toddlers and broke her heart, and the sweetheart anywhere but the bedroom.
The story starts Jack Fiorno’s dad, Frank, dying of cancer. He lets Jack know that she will have to leave college, her dreams and any of her own future to run the family butcher shop. She also will have to have animal blood ready every 15th for a vampire named Elias due to a blood bond. She thinks he’s crazy until she finds Vinny who is a vampire that trains her to fight vampires. She trains to avenge her father as Elias could have saved her father easily but she believes he refused to. Jack also uses this training as a way to be stronger as her ex Gannon broke her heart when he ghosted her. Jack eventually gives in to her feelings with Vinny. Suspiciously that’s when Elias decides to show up for his monthly pick-up even though it’s been a year since Frank’s death. As Jack says “My father should have warned me. Should have told me Eli looked like this”. Mr. Chiseled takes Jack up on her wanting to fight, but quickly shows her that all of the training was for naught. Jack now has to decide how she wants her relationship with Gannon who has shown back up, Vinny who has been there for her and Elias who wants her to move in with him for her protection. Can she have them all? Or will her life be in too much peril? The story ends on a cliff-hanger and will make you cursing J. Jameson on ending like that.
My favorite thing about this is all of the Sookie Stackhouse vibes but being a reverse harem. I was always questioning why Sookie couldn’t have both. I do love that Jack still has some paranormal aspect but instead of Jack being able to read minds it’s vampiric blood running through her bloodstream. I do like that the blood bond allows for Elias to read Jack’s mind though.
My least favorite thing about this story was that it felt like there was two plots going on at the same time. There’s Jack’s story and what’s going on for her and then there’s Elias’ story and what he’s doing. There are times where there is overlap, but often times when it’s Elias’ point-of-view it’s something completely different than what’s going on with Jack as it’s about the vampiric kingdom. However, Jack’s, Gannon’s and Vinny’s point-of-views all surround Jack. Then there is another subplot with Gannon’s maker and the mystery of trying to find out who that is. I’m excited for book 2 to hopefully combine these things and they start to overlap.
I gave this a 4.5 out of 5. I was obsessed and needed to finish it. I was so like UGH when I got to the cliffhanger that I even messaged J. Jameson on Instagram about it! I will be not so patiently waiting for the next book. I do think that multiple plots would have had more of an effect on the rating than just a .5 if it wasn’t for the fact that it was very nostalgic for me. I do appreciate all of the character growth though. Jack started as a hyper independent woman who hates men and vampires and now has a soft side and letting a vampiric man take care of her. Gannon started off as a selfish boy and has turned into a man who’s trying to be worthy.

A lonely orphaned young woman, who hates vampires with reason, finds herself surrounded by possessive, jealous vampire men all vying for her claim. Jacqueline "Jack" Fiorno is overburdened. Forced to grow up faster than her 21 years, taking on the family business when her two elder brothers couldn't be bothered, she also carries a vendetta that weighs heavy on her heart. But when she starts to fall for the devilishly handsome and flirtatious vampire training her to fight vampires, she begins to question the validity of her revenge.

Messy, hostile vampire politics threaten any chance of peace and happiness she might've had with any of her vampire suitors. But when one of those suitors turns out to be the long-missing vampire king, all hell breaks loose.

Throw in her third vampire paramour, her ex-boyfriend and childhood best friend who ghosted her, and the emotionally devastating second chance romance adds significant heartfelt weight into the mix of her chaotic love life.

Can Jack find her HEA through all of this heavy baggage? The cliffhanger ending has us desperately waiting for that answer.

The story takes you through a lot of backstory and emotional history without the use of heavy flashbacks, thankfully. With multiple POVs and 4 characters to wade through, this could've easily become a dense and dragging affair. But the pacing is balanced and keeps moving forward —no unnecessary back and forth between POVs around the same scene. The plot keeps moving and never gets bogged down or heavy-handed with the past. And still you get 4 fully formed characters with backstories and distinct personalities. No one feels half-baked or lacking equal page time. Each character is believable and consistent.

The smut hits at 15% so buckle up for a delightfully fast burn, at least with part of this ragtag crew of vampire suitors. There’s praise kink and a whole lot of caretaking.

The story focuses on the relationships between Jack and her potential vamps, with multiple dangers hovering in the peripheral and intense vampire politics creeping in as the story goes along. With dangerous enemies plotting their demise it does get bloody.

For fans of fun, vampy urban paranormals - complete with biting smut!

As the author states in the dedication: for those who loved True Blood but wanted Sookie to end up with both Eric and Bill. I would also add that fans of Buffy should also put this at the top of their tbr piles. The book fits perfectly in the cannon of the adult fun, sexy, but still emotionally weighty vampy lore of True Blood, Buffy, and for the vampire super Stans - if you liked the too-short lived Midnight Texas like me, you will love this!

Favorite Quotes:
Vinny - “My heart was hers the moment she walked into my gym.”
Gannon - "And I would earn her love again. Because I had every intention of becoming the kind of man who deserved such a gift."
Elias - "Body parts littered the walkway and unmanicured lawn. Brain matter and... oh dear... are those entrails?... scattered across the front porch. When the owners returned from holiday, they'd be none too pleased with my redecorating."

Thank you to NetGalley & J. Jameson for the opportunity to read this ARC

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

I read this in one sitting because I couldn’t put it down! It has some darker themes but is a fun read with witty banter & humour, and great spice

‘Teenage me squealed at the sight of him.
He lifted his gaze and cocked one eyebrow. "Pink ruffles and Pierce the Veil posters?" His smirk turned into a delicious grin.
"It's an intriguing dichotomy, I'll admit." ‘

‘She loved romance books about sexy male fairies, and to be fair, that was news to me; the only fairy I knew about was Tinkerbell.’

Jack gives up her scholarship because of her father’s cancer diagnosis and returns with a few days left with him. Shes left to run the butcher shop that her dad owns, and unknown to her & her two brothers, has been supplying a certain vampire with animal blood for many years. That’s when she learns that he made a deal with said vampire 21 years ago, and that she must be there to ensure that he gets his payment every month.
Elias, the vampire her dad made a deal with, doesn’t show up when he’s supposed to, and Jack begins training to fight him because she believes he could have saved her father. Vinny, her trainer (who is also a vampire) fell for Jack the second she walked into his gym requesting his help to train to fight a vampire. Despite knowing she will never be strong enough as a human, he trains her for a year, and that’s when Elias shows up again. Oh, and Jacks ex boyfriend Gannon shows up, who was turned into a vampire just months prior to returning in her life.

Now Jack has 3 vampires lusting after her, all while theres some darker plot lines happening in the background.
I fell in love with Vinny & how much he cares for & takes care of Jack. He’s also possessive af and a talker in the sheets & we love that
Elias is a dirty lil smooth talker who made me blush & giggle & kick my feet when he showed up acting all suave
Gannon is growing on me. I’m mad he left Jack when she really needed him. But he’s making up for it by begging on his knees for her ;)

The plot is interesting, and the spice is GOOOOOOD
The book is left on a cliff hanger, and I will definitely be reading book 2 of the Butchers Daughter trilogy whenever it’s released.

If you like your paranormal romances super spicy and you don’t mind gore, you’ll like A Bond Beyond Blood.

Paranormal romances get a lock of flak for being pure smut, and it’s usually unmerited. A lot of these books have good character development, complex plots, and only a few explicit pages. While A Bond Beyond Blood does have some character development, the plot is simple and the sex scenes outweigh the other elements. That being said, the sex scenes are well-done.

After Franco dies from cancer, his daughter Jackie inherits the butcher shop and a blood bond to Eli, the vampire king. Jackie blames Eli for not saving her dad, and her rage leads her to train for a year with boxing champ Vinny, also a vampire. Though she claims to hate all vamps, she gives in to her feelings for Vinny in a smoking hot scene. Soon after, Jackie’s childhood sweetheart, Gannon, returns. He had ghosted her after the funeral because it reminded him too much of his own grief from his father’s murder. In the interim, Gannon has been turned. So three vamps are after this human, and she wants all three.

Vinny is a delight. Not only is he an amazing fighter, he respects Jackie and her wishes. He understands that she been boxed in by the men in her family and wants her to feel free. Eli and Gannon I could do without. Eli’s backstory is good—he got tired of politics and so went into a hiding for a century. He wants Jackie, so somehow this means he needs to reclaim his throne. (I didn’t follow his logic.) He’s incredibly powerful and vicious, and his return to power is gory. He’s also an ass. I think we’re meant to love to hate him, but in this first book I just hate him. I may read the next book just to see what happens with Eli. Gannon is still trying to grow out of his teenage rebellion and dealing with abandonment issues.

Jackie is nice and complex. She’s angry and focused, but she’s also able to realize when she’s beat. She acknowledges when she’s wrong, like accepting the truth that Franco didn’t want Eli to save him. She can also learn to forgive herself for wanting three different men. I’d like her as a friend.

Overall, while this book isn’t my cup of tea, it’s entertaining and totally hot.

Thank you to NetGalley and Jessalyn Jameson for giving me the opportunity to read A Bond Beyond Blood early.

Please bear in mind that this is a review based on my own preferences. If we don't have the same preferences then you may not agree with my review, and that's fine.

I wanted to love this book. I really did. I mean what's not to love? RH, vampires, an FMC that's not a shrinking violet?

I'd class this as a slow burn, and I typically don't have the patience for slow burns. There were however enough suspense in the plot to keep me interested all the way through.

I think it's a generally well written book, the plot is plotting and the spice was somewhat spicing. I tend to prefer books with way more spice, but this was a pleasant read nonetheless. I'd say this was maybe a 3 chili pepper book?

The characters were well written. I liked all of them but one.
Maybe it was the age of the characters (early twenties) or maybe it's just the way they are, but Gannons character really bugged me. He came across immature and selfish. Perhaps this is the point of his character, in which case - the author really hit the mark on that one for me.
Elias on the other hand, he came across quite arrogant and haughty. I didn't immediately love him, but I also didn't hate him. I did warm to him by the end of the book.
No shade on Vinnie. We love Vinnie here.
I didn't necessarily like that the FMC forgave Gannon so quickly, or at all, with what seems to me like very little reasoning from her or really any proof from him that he'd changed. Yeah I get it that they had history, but he also just up and left when she needed him most. And clearly she didn't need more than a few "I'm sorry"s from him to just completely ignore that massive betrayal. She even looked past his more recent unattractive behavior of almost stalking her and not accepting her no for what it is. I'm fully aware of my own double standards here, as had Gannon been a character I liked I most likely would not be annoyed at the FMC for forgiving him.

I very much enjoyed that the book was written from different POVs, that always heightens a story for me and it gives valuable insight into the characters.

The book ends on a cliffhanger, and I cannot wait to read the next one.

A Bond Beyond Blood is an urban why choose romantasy featuring the FMC, Jacqueline ("Jackie"), and three MMCs, vampires Elias, Gannon, and Vinny. It's book 1 in a new trilogy, The Butcher's Daughter, and it ends in a wicked cliffhanger.

After Jackie's father dies, she hates vampires and wants to learn to fight them - particularly the one who could have saved her father but didn't (Elias). She goes to a trainer, Vinny, to learn to fight vampires - only to fall for him, complicating her views on vampires as a whole. She then finds out that her ex-boyfriend, Gannon, has been turned into a vampire, and he's back wanting another chance at her and needing her help to keep him safe.

This love triangle is made even more complex by Elias, who turns out to be a vampire king who was presumed dead (like, vampire-dead, not just undead). Elias has king business to attend to, but he's inexplicably drawn to Jackie - there are some forces at play here that bring them together in a few different ways, through blood and through history.

This is a why choose/RH novel, but in book 1, Jackie's just beginning to build her trio of boys. Vinny's all in from when he meets Jackie, but the dynamics with Gannon are a bit more complex since he broke her heart previously. Watching the relationships grow and change is really fun, and the best part of an RH book - the boys all wanting what's best for their girl - comes out strong in this story.

Elias is a bit more distant throughout the book as he deals with the complexities of reclaiming his throne. He's by far the oldest and wisest vampire of the three, and his wisdom helps both of the other guys, particularly Gannon as he is learning what it means to be a vampire and still have control over his urges. I liked his storyline at the beginning, but I found myself wanting so much more from him by the end - perhaps it's because this book used to be two separate books and wasn't originally scoped as the first in a trilogy, but it feels like Elias' story cuts off in a strange place at the end.

Overall, though, I LOVED it and can't wait for the other two books in the series!!

Thanks to the ARC team for an advance copy!

Review:
I read both prequel and book 1 before this release and obviously enjoyed both since I jumped at the opportunity to receive an ARC in exchange for an honest review.
I thought it was a great idea to combine both original stories into 1 book. It made this book feel like a whole novel where the original felt a little short and unfinished. I love how each love interest has their own personality and fleshed out storyline. Too often in why choose books I feel like the men morph into 1 personality or become shallow versions of themselves with only 1 interest per guy, but Jameson did a great job making sure each man felt unique and well rounded. I love Vinny so much, hes just so sweet and caring and protective, but genuinely wants Jack to be happy no matter the cost. Gannon is.. there. And personally, hes still working on me forgiving him. Eli has a great backstory and I love the politics with the vampire court. Theres a lot of potential with his story line because of the complexities, but it definitely needs more details and I hope we get more of it in the next book. Especially with how little interaction he has with Jack in this book, I feel like what he has going on needs to be fleshed out more. I said this last time and I’ll say it again, I LOVE the nickname petit calibri and it gets stuck in my head whenever I read it.
Jack is a strong main character, and I liked seeing how she handled each hurdle, but I do wish we saw her interact with people outside of the love interests a little more. I would have appreciated seeing her talk to a friend from school, the shop, the gym, even her brother’s girlfriend. Just anyone to add something to her character outside the romance. We really only know a couple things about her and the two strongest things being her hate for vampires and her devotion to her family, but we don’t get to see too much of her personality come through. I love watching her form a relationship with each guy though, and I’m excited to see those connections grow and connect even more.

I have been so lucky to get this new version as an arc I was looking forward to see how the transition from one book to the next would be in this book, it was so seemless done that I didn't notice it.

Just as the first time I read this book it brings me back to some of the first books I started out reading.
And I was enjoying getting back to that feeling. I Don't read that much paranormal books anymore but I enjoyed getting back to that kind of world.

The first time I read A bond Beyond Blood I gave it 4 stars and this time I will give it 4,5 it doesn't quit get 5 stars I got a little bored at some parts of the book I don't know if it's because I have read it for or something else. I will say I don't feel like there is as many scenes that just is filler as much as the first book.

I liked the plot even though it have some similarities to other paranormal books, though this has some twist the other books don't.

The relation between Jack, Vinny, Gannon and Elias is very different than what I'm used to reading and I'm not sure I really want the love triangle/square. Some parts of it I like and some I don't. The parts I like is how each of the boys acts different with Jack. The parts I don't like is how at one moment Jack, Vinny and even Elias doesn't seem to think that Gannon will be with Jack ever again, the next moment Jack, Vinny and Gannon has a threesome, and I'm like where did this come from.

The writing is descriptive but not so much that my own imagination can't get to work, which something I value in my reads.

The book left with a cliffhanger and I'm sitting back with this feeling of that the author can't just stop there like I need to know what happens next. I need the next book in my hands right now. I will be looking forward to read what will happen with Jack and the rest of the gang in the next book.

Thank you to J. Jameson for the opportunity to read this ARC! I’m leaving this review voluntarily.

Huge thank you to Jessalyn for allowing me to read an advanced copy of their revamp and rerelease of A Bond Beyond Blood!! As always, my opinions are my own ☺️

“I didn’t deserve this woman, but I’d be damned if I wasn’t going to do everything in my power to earn her love going forward.”

A Bond Beyond Blood tells the story of Jacqueline(Jack), who after the loss of her father, hired Vincenzo(Vinny) to help train her to kill Elias(Eli), the vampire who refused to save her dying father. Despite Jacqueline’s hatred for vampires, the lines began to blur with every training session and the walls she erected began to fall.. she wanted Vinny, even though she shouldn’t!

Vinny knew that no matter how much he trained Jack, she would never be able to stand up against a vampire, let alone.. the Vampire King? After a year of waiting and preparing, Elias had finally made his appearance to call in his debt owed. But Jacquline was not what he had expected.. and now he can’t seem to stay away.

On top of all of this, her ex-boyfriend Gannon had also returned into Jack’s life after leaving when she needed him the most. But he was no longer the same.. he was a vampire and he so desperately wanted to fix the damage he left behind.

Reverse harem and vampires? Say less! This book hooked me instantly! The tension and will they/wont they between Vinny and Jack was steamy, the temptation and forbidden nature of the pull with Elias was addictive, and the warm and fuzzy redemption with Gannon was heartwarming. This book had so many things I adore and it was so well done, and I absolutely cannot wait until book 2 comes out!! Like do we really have to wait that long after that cliffhanger ending?! Cmon 😩

This book drew me in right from the beginning!

In the year since she lost her father, Jack has been determined to learn to fight and exterminate the vampire who left her father to die. She found herself at Vincenzo (Vinny) Ricci's gym and he agreed to train her, but they've gotten much closer than trainer and trainee over the past year. Now, Jack's life is becoming even more complicated when her ex-boyfriend, Gannon Hayes, also shows up as a newly turned vampire who wants to be with her and wants her blood. When the vampire that Jack's father warned her about comes back into the picture, he isn't a normal vampire, but a vampire king. Jack has to figure out how she feels about all three vampires while also navigating the complicated world of vampire politics since she happens to have a bond with the king.

I absolutely loved Jack's character in this book. She is tough and fierce and doesn't take crap from any of the guys. I also really enjoyed the way that she stepped up to take over her father's butcher shop even though that might not have been her life's ambition. Vinny was also such a sweet and protective character. Seeing him struggle with accepting that Gannon and Elias were also going to be in Jack's life felt very realistic. I really liked that he was willing to do so much to make her happy though. Gannon's character feels a little bit less defined than the others to me. He seems very sweet and loyal, but I didn't feel like I really got to know a lot more about him aside from his dedication to Jack. I really enjoyed Elias though. I loved the way that he commanded a space as soon as he entered it and the banter between him and Jack was fantastic. I'm excited to see what happens in the next book!

When Jacqueline’s father succumbs to his cancer, he leaves her with a debt she can never pay. A debt to a vampire that visits once a month for his fill of animal blood. As the new owner of the butcher shop, this shouldn’t be a complicated exchange. But to know this mysterious man could have saved her father, sends her down a path of vengeance instead. Soon, one vampire becomes three as she is caught between her trainer, her ex-boyfriend, and a king.

“A Bond Beyond Blood” is the rerelease of a novel by the same name, combined with a prequel called “The Butcher’s Daughter”. Having stumbled upon J. Jameson looking for readers, I figured why not? I love vampires and was curious to see how this novel would unfold. Turns out I loved this book too. This novel is definitely for the readers not afraid of a little blood, bites, and love squares.

Now, I am firmly a reader that avoids love complications in my novels. Specifically, I avoid love triangles. This… was not a love triangle. The three MMCs are devoted to Jack in a way that makes them work together rather than against each other. Which is actually really refreshing. I ended up really enjoying this novel for both the plot and the romance and can't wait to see the next novel of this series.

Beyond the men and their relationships to Jack, the worldbuilding and plot were super intriguing. First of all, the vampires are no secret to society. They are very much a functioning part of it. Which is actually terrifying when a newly made vampire is just left to their own devices. Multi-POV gives us different glimpses into the world and how humans and vampires coexist. My favorite part though, was Elias. He knows something sinister is brewing in the Council of Lords, something that forces him to return from the shadows and seat himself back upon the throne. And, without spoiling it, I have to say he is not someone to provoke. Seriously, go read it and find out!

Thank you to the publisher and NetGalley for this ARC in exchange for my honest and voluntary review.

Starting off this book, you know that you are in for a good time. Not that it is necessarily the funniest book I've ever read (that is definitely not what it is trying to be), but we got our strong FMC, some sassy MMCs and the usual Vampire Drama. Exactly what I was in the mood for when I picked up this paranormal RH romance.

That does not change that the "1 year later" jump that occurs fairly early on was a little jarring. I would have appreciated a bit more clarification at the beginning of chapter 4, especially as we are essentially introduced to two people whose main energy is "horny". We already knew Jackie, but who is Vinny? Why is he so into her? Why is all that we know about this vampire that he has an eight pack? Luckily chapter 6 treats us to Vinny's POV and I am an immediate fan ;)

Just an fyi for those who like a slow burn: This might not be for you. The spice is (almost) immediate and more than plentiful with at least Vinny and Gannon. Let's see where we go with Elias in part 2. Speaking of part 2, this was very character focused (which I normally love) but the few glimpses of the world around them were really interesting. I hope we get to hear more about the vampires and humans living together in this urban setting.

In conclusion: This was advertised as a spicy vampire why choose and that is exactly what you get. Plenty of steam, many great vibes and the promise of more to come. The ending definitely left me with a lot of questions, so I'll see you all at the next one!

A solid 3.5 stars ★★★⯪☆

A Bond Beyond Blood by J. Jameson
⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
🌶🌶🌶🌶

I had to take a minute after reading to really get my thoughts sorted. I haven't read a Vampire book since I was probably a teenager. I have just kind of felt like Vampires just weren't it for me anymore. But when I came across this ARC and heard about it being a reverse harem I thought you know what let's give it a shot. I am so glad I did. I enjoyed every part of this. The details in the Vampire history, society, hierarchy was so good and I cant wait to find out more. I also loved the American-Italian culture that this book also show cased. I enjoyed that it wasn't like other reverse harem where the guys are friends and they decided to share a girl or realized that they liked the same girl and why not just share her. This reverse harem the guys didn't even know each other or like eachother. So they had to find a way to make it work and it showed the insecurities or trying to date or wanting to be with multiple men or even having to share the girl you love. I also love how they loved her so much and didn't want to make her choose or break her heart so they decided to share her. It showed the ups and downs of a real relationship like that plus adding that shes human and they are Vampires. My only complaint would be that there seemed to be a main guy (Vinny) and Gannon seemed to just be in second place. I am hoping that in the next book there relationships grow so that there isn't a feeling of one being more important than the other.

If you are looking for SMUTTTT then I would really recommend this book! Honestly, I felt like the plot could have been developed further but if what you want is spice then you can’t go wrong.
Jack is left her father’s butcher shop when he dies as well as a blood bond with a vampire who she has to keep supplying animal blood to. Her grief at the loss of her father, when he could have been saved by this mysterious vampire, means she decides to train to kill him. She falls for her vampire trainer Vinnie, which is when things really start to get interesting. The vampire she is bonded to turns up and is the long missing Vampire King. As does her ex-boyfriend, who is also a vampire. The problem is, she is attracted to all three of them.
Someone how this book manages to be full of spice, a why choose and also a slow burn full of sexual tension. I don’t even know how it’s possible to tick all of those boxes.
If you expect the full dynamic of Jack and her three vampires to be fleshed out in this book then you will be mistaken. There is still plenty left to be explored and developed in the next book!
Overall, some fantastic spice and just enough plot to keep you interested. If you are someone who wants a fantasy world with no plot holes and where everything is fully explained then this might not be the book for you. But if hot vampires and lots of well written spice is for you, then come on in!
Thank you to NetGalley and the author for providing me with an ARC for this book.
