I’ve awakened to find bits of my missing past — memories and bonds that I didn’t know had been torn from me — captured within photographs arrayed across the walls of the caretaker suite. Displayed for me to find them, to discover everything my aunt has actively hidden from me for over thirteen years. Secrets she’s taken with her into the After, leaving me all the power but none of the foundation I need to be the Conduit.

Then I discover that my aunt’s secrets go beyond her betrayal, creating a systemic rot, an unraveling, that began before I was even born. The resulting ramifications weave together to unsettle, to overwrite, any attempt I could make to fortify the connection between me and my universe-promised mates.

Without them, I’m unmoored. And unmoored, I cannot possibly wield all the power the world needs me to wield. That the universe needs me to wield.

Jealousy, envy, grief … love?

Only choice matters above all else.

Just not for me.

I move as the universe wills.

Or I suffer the consequences.

Snag is the second book in the Conduit series, a secondary universe urban fantasy why choose romance, which is set in the same universe as the Mirth duology. Yes!
Love all of this and more. I can't wait for the next book. I love how the conduit is more than she thinks she is and all the characters that surround her. Precious is a great character.

Ack! What is happening? We learn a bit more about Zaya and her boys in this one, we see a bit more mysteries left by aunt Disa, and that ending! I need to know what is happening with Fresh, with Reck, with their dad! Ack! Keeping me in suspense over here!
I loved seeing the bond with Rought progress, her helping Presh advance, and her love of milkshakes continue. The extra chapter with 9 year old Zaya was a heart breaker and gave me more questions! Can't wait for the next one.

I absolutely ADORED this book. A little bit of spice was perfectly woven into this book and the storyline has left me craving more. I cannot wait to read book 3 because I am desperate to find out what happens with Reck. As usual, Meghan weaves magic within her words, characters and plots and will leave you begging for more. Thank you for another epic read ❤️

Felt like half of a story

Some forward movement in the story, some good character development and some redeeming of side characters. But it felt like it should have been the end of the last book or the middle of this one. Just not enough happened and too many unfinished bits that had nothing to do with what I just read.

This is a hard series, and more specifically, a hard book to rate. While it had an exciting plot and characters, it also had equally bad parts.

What I liked:
- The FMC calm and mature personality. She is strong and powerful without coming off as rude, bratty, or immature. She is well-balanced.

- The plot idea of the FMC having 3 soul-bound MMCs that she forgot about, and the MMCs believing she was dead.

- There is a mystery that makes me wanna know what exactly went down, and why.

What I did not like:
- The monologues are endless. Pages of internal thoughts and explanations. We lost track of dialogues because between some dialogues, there would be 2-3 pages of internal thoughts.

- Plot holes. For example, Rough was explained to be her chosen mate, not soul-bound. However, the whole plot is based on her having 3 soul-bound (fated) MMCs, which obviously includes Rough. So the plot jumps from Rough NOT being soul-bound to her (chosen mate), to being one. It's not consistent. The same goes for character descriptions, like eye colors, etc.

- This book focuses more on the plot than romance. It was a fantasy book with a sub-plot romance, which in RH it's hard to pull off.

- The FMC, although I liked her overall, became more sacrificial towards side characters than what I usually like. The MMC's sister, whom, for some reason, the FMC is obsessed with. (I find the sister character so bland, idiotic, and unlikable), makes mistakes all through the book and needs to be saved bc the FMC all the time. The FMC is a doormat for her, and that pissed me off.

Anyways, there was a cliffhanger and since this book took FOREVER to come out, I don't have high hopes the next one will come out in a reasonable time frame. So, I can't be sure I will continue the series. It all depends on whether I remember it by then.

this sequel absolutely rocks!

I will start with, I so enjoy Ms. Doidge’s stories. She writes a well crafted, tightly written book.

Zaya is a compassionate and practical main character. She is soul bound to 3 half brothers. She has a history with them she does not remember. She is also very powerful. She is mending her relationship with 2 of them. The third is a jerk….or maybe more manipulated than the others.

This is the second book following Zaya. I want to read the conclusion now. If you do not like graphic sex in your stories, do not read. But, I highly recommend the books!

I felt like I read Awry so long ago, that I found myself confused and not remembering a lot of the back story. This book didn't have any recap, and my TBR is to long for me to reread books that I've already read. I felt disconnected from the characters for most of the book. Although some secrets were uncovered and questions answered, I felt like we're still missing a lot of the story. Not a bad story, it was well-written, but me not remembering much from book 1? hindered my enjoyment in this one. I hope the next book doesn't take as long, or I'll be finding myself in the same disconnected boat.

Cliffhanger ending

I liked the story, with many threads starting to come together. But I really hated the ending. Part of it is that I hate, hate, hate cliffhangers. For me, it seemed like the story just ended without closure to any of the story arcs and I have more questions than answers.

The story had just the right amount of heat . . . But if you are sex-adverse you may want to skip this - wait, why the heck are you reading Meghan Ciana Doidge?!? Stop if this is your first and read the Dowser series first (have chocolate on hand!)

I reread Awry to prepare for this second book in the series. I don’t usually do that but felt I didn’t remember enough to get in the right mindset. I’m so glad I did. The emotion was so much more emotional. The danger was scarier because I cared so much for the characters. The passion was off the charts because there was so much history and so many feelings involved. I absolutely loved this book! I had read them both on Kindle Unlimited and went back and bought both, again which I don’t usually do, but want to keep them forever!

So many questions! We learn more about Zaya and her boys, get fresh mysteries from Aunt Disa, and that ending left me desperate for answers about Fresh, Reck, and their dad. I loved Zaya’s growing bond with Rought, her support of Presh, and of course, her love for milkshakes. The extra chapter with 9-year-old Zaya broke my heart and gave me even more questions. Can’t wait for the next one!

This second installment to Meghan Ciana Doidge’s Conduit series is so so good! It picks up right where book one left off and immediately draws you right back in. The characters develop more fully and the threads of the Awry world weave together into such a heartbreaking and interesting story. I highly recommend this book and the related Mirth series as well.

So good. Even though we learn more and some questions are answered there’s many more to go. I really liked that the world was further fleshed out.

I absolutely love the progression of Rought and Zaya.

I am looking forward to book 3. So many more questions that I need to know the answer to.

I have so enjoyed Doidge's books, but I'm not a big fan of the Conduit series. I love the characters, but c'mon! Gryphon sex?
I am only giving it three stars because there's just too much sex for my tastes.

I want to see how it ends, the plot and world building is interesting 🤔 but I barely like any of the non-Awry characters 🤔

dnf 85% (ok, I skimmed the ending)
She purposely goes against the "knowing".
smh
I didn't care what happened to her after that.

I love finding these hidden gems, but hate how there's never any hype around them because they aren't mainstream published. This series has been really great. It has old school urban fantasy vibes in a why choose future. The magic of the Awry is super interesting and I can't wait to see how Presh's power evolves in particular.

I'm so curious to see what happens with Bellamy now. Honestly, the same with most of these characters. Rath and Reck are also really complex characters that I'd love to see as they grow.

Gimme book 3. Please.
